I’m planning to get one for more “fun flights” both Indoor and outside. I’m a beginner with my only prior drone experience being a small cheap one I got from Amazon, years ago. I feel like fpv is a little too complicated and expensive so I would like one of these drones.I’m split between the Neo, (Im in the US so I’d have to buy the controller separately) or the mini 4k with propeller guards so I can fly inside. I really don’t know which one to choose. Every time I think I know which one I want, I go back on my choice… Does anyone have a suggestion of which one to choose for my needs?
For me, when I'm deciding which one to take it do I want to have fun? I'll take the DJI Neo. Do I want the best image quality? I'll take the DJI Mini 4k! :)
To make your decision even easier: If flying indoors is a must, the Neo is the only option unfortunately. You'll have signal issues indoors with the Mini (and other models), and it'll have a mind of its own. You do need adequate lighting indoors though, otherwise the Neo will give you an error message and freeze in place or even veer off into the nearest obstacle/wall.
I tried both, after cutting my finger went with the Neo 😂. Also found the controller on EBay for $50 so I’m super happy considering I’ve crashed it 10 times in a week and no broken parts and cheap DJI replacement warranty for peace of mine
The transmission range of both the DJI Mini 4k and DJI Neo drones is 10 km based on using the standard rc-n2 or rc-n3 remote controllers respectively. That said, the Neo will run out of battery long before you reach that distance and so will be a much shorter distance. When using palm takeoff or quickshots on the Neo, you're limited to about 20m.
the neo with the controller is fitting for casual, if you are good with its speed being limited to 7kmh you can only buy the drone and control with phone or smart modes else if you want to go fast you want a controller
So, torn between the Neo or Mini 4K. We’ll be using the drone when mountain biking. The AI active tracking features are what tempts me for the Neo, but if I learn to fly the Mini 4K then surely I’ll be able to achieve similar results myself. I’ll be filming my partner whilst riding. It seems the Neo cannot active track at speeds over 15mph, which is no good for mountain biking anyway as generally speeds average around 15-20mph. So, question for decent flyers. Is it fairly easy to track a moving subject when flying at around 20mph ? Thanks
You only get extra batteries with the DJI Mini 4k if you buy the Fly More Combo Kit or buy more batteries separately, otherwise it's just the one that comes with it.
As mentioned, and in answer to your question, the DJI Mini 4k has an FPV mode in the settings. You may be referring to acro mode, which it does not have. You didn't ask whether the Mini 4k could be used with a headset, though this is often what people think of when they talk about FPV mode.
Generally speaking, if on a real budget, I'd recommend the DJI Neo. If you have a good budget, get the DJI Mini Pro 4. The simple reason is to have a drone which is compatible with the RC2 controller and bypass all the nonsense of whether your mobile phone will work. I had that experience. I simply couldn't get my phone to work with the DJI Mini 4k and returned it. Now I'm saving for the Mini 4 Pro.
@@LensOfJamesI've got the Pixel 7 Pro and it wasn't cheap at the time to buy. It worked fine with my DJI Mini SE. Which I then lost. I got the Mini 4K to replace it, not expecting any issues. But it simply never worked. Got a refund and now saving for the Mini Pro 4.
Interesting - there was an update to the DJI app a few months back which made the app not work for pixels including my 8 pro and old 3a XL. I did a bit of digging and DJI released a patch until the next version of the app was released. Works perfectly now, in case you were considering a mini 4k again :)
@@LensOfJames well.... When I got the refund for the 'Mini 4K' from Amazon, they actually let me keep the drone, the batteries, the bag and everything. All the gear. I cannot fault their customer service at all. Amazing! So.. I still have it, if it ever decides to work.
🔥 Want to get a drone for yourself? Check out the Neo: amzn.to/4eg83Cg and Mini 4k amzn.to/3XNB2sd (affiliate links) 🔥
have both, for different purpose of use, neo just for fun, mini 4k for better cinematic for social media
Nice, both DJI drones are so fun to fly!

The neo is cool until you hear how loud it is
I don't think it's that loud, it's just high pitched. Once you've flown it a few metres away from you it's no bother.
Better présentation than most of others.congrat.
Thanks, really glad you like the video!

Good reasons to go for the DJI Neo drone, it does feel a lot safer with the enclosed propellers - happy flying!
Did you buy the standalone Neo with one battery or the combo with 3 batteries? Do you think you need more than one battery? Thanks.
one of them on my xmas list!
Nice, enjoy your drone!
sadly we dont celebrate xmas, but im gonna beg for the neo fly more kit so i get a controller on black friday because its like a fpv drone almost
What a great, informative video.
Thanks!
What you suggest for a beginner
Both are great for a beginner, take your pick! :)
Really informative thanks 😊
Glad the DJI drone comparison was helpful!

Sir i am not a professional vlogger i need a drone for casual uses. Which one i should buy and budget friendly

It's a tough choice between the DJI Neo and DJI Mini 4k - I'm interested to hear what people have to say for your situation!
@ After watching many reviews, ended up ordering the Mini 3 Pro 😀👍🏽
Nice, enjoy your drone!
Really useful thanks a lot
Glad the video's helpful - which drone are you thinking of getting?
@ I’m thinking of 4k it seams it bit more well built
Nice, the DJI Mini 4k definitely feels a bit more substantial in hand
Does the Mini 4K controller work with the Neo?
No unfortunately the DJI Mini 4k uses the RC-N2 and the Neo uses the RC-N3 so they aren't compatible
I na kraju. Isplati li se kupiti Neo. Što vi mislite
I think so, the DJI Neo is a really fun drone!
@LensOfJames thank you
Is mini 4k also able to use AI motion tracking which neo has ?
No, unfortunately there's no motion tracking in the DJI Mini 4k except for a few QuickShots which are just pre-programmed flight patterns
Are there extra batteries with mini 4k?
You only get extra batteries with the DJI Mini 4k if you buy the Fly More Combo Kit or buy more batteries separately, otherwise it's just the one that comes with it.
@LensOfJames oh i see.. thanks for the info...👍
Does de Mini 4k pro do FPV option like Neo?
It has an FPV mode which releases the gimbal to move with the drone, but can't be used with the headset like the Neo can
Ok, so awnser is NO. Cannot do FPV mode.😊🤷♂️

Hard to choose, let's just choose both😂

Wow that's strange, what phone did you have. I have a Google pixel 8 pro and it's worked flawlessly with the DJI app

mine is arriving in a few hours!!!!!!!
Awesome, enjoy your drone!!
Wich one ? 😊
The mini 4k. It is awesome! I definitely think it is better than the Neo. I am going to fly it now!!!
Glad you're enjoying your Mini 4k drone!
