A dark-skin black girl should be playing Aisha. It’s hard enough for them to get roles in the first place in favor of light-skin or biracial actresses.
Aisha's actress is already very good! I really liked her, I just wish she wasnt just the fire fairy babysitter or played second fiddle to help the white main character. Shes so strong and inspiring on her own right, I hope season 2 branches her out more

i honestly could care less whether they've been in the industry for years or if this was their first ever role, my problem is how wrong the show did the original characters. flora was switched into an annoying, overweight WHITE girl who's name isn't even flora, musa was also whitewashed as fuck and tecna ISN'T EVEN IN THE SHOW!!! i fucking hate netflix with a passion. also layla wasn't orginally part of the winx until later in the original series. and i'm willing to bet that the only reason they casted an actual black girl for the role was to avoid getting backlash from the entire black community, but of course, forget about the hispanic and the asian girl, cause those don't matter as much, right? those communities won't cause that much trouble for being excluded. they could easily have casted the right people, but they deliberately chose not to cause they don't actually care about being inclusive, but only about rates and keeping the biggest community happy. such bullshit, honestly...
I think it’s fantastically great that Netflix helps young unpopular actors instead of just finding the popular ones and make then even more popular It’s really cool that so many new “faces” show up and it’s not like you watch 5 movies and in 2 or 3 of them you see the same actors...not even more I’m really grateful to Netflix for that

I personally liked the characters casted for Bloom and Stella. I thought they fit nicely. It's too bad the show was focused more on swear words and inappropriate scenes. It's sad that they only stuck to some of the original show, but I thought the idea of the burned ones and the fairy wings being ancient was awesome! In my opinion, they should either not follow the show's characters so much or make sure they were following the original characters. Half just really upsets fans and white washing Musa and Flora (Terra) was disappointing, but the actresses did really well! I am glad they gave opportunities to new actresses. I just hope we get to see Flora and Tecna in season 2! The trix would be awesome to see too!

Netflix tried to fix what wasn't broken to begin with, and ended up with making it worse than before. Some things should stay animated for a reason. The CGI I can understand because a more limited budget, but the characters really drove the story and those flopped majorly

I agree Musa needs a recast, and Flora and Tecna need to be cast, but why do people recast Aisha and Bloom? I get the wardrobe sucks, but Abigail Cowen is stunning and she’s the perfect Bloom. Madelaine doesnt look like Bloom. Also, Aisha is dark skin. So is Precious. Precious was a perfect choice and it these recasts are just showing peoples colourism. I agree Netflix fumbled on the live action, but Abigail and Precious shouldn’t be recast. Hannah is also a good Stella. It’s nice they gave up and coming actresses a shot.

Ok yes they should have gone with a Hispanic actress for Flora instead of changing her name in order to use a white actress and they should have chosen an Asian actress for Musa. But I disagree with everyone hating on the entire series. And why does it have to be that everyone here always compares it directly to the original. It’s just not possible to make a live action series that is exactly like then, it would not sell and the special effects would have been a lot more expensive if they had gone above and beyond... And half of the reasons they had in the video were invalid like ‘not famous enough’ or ‘hasn’t been in a big show before’. Zendaya is Mixed. Yara is Mixed. AISHA IS BLACK. If you want a mixed person to play as a black character then have a mixed person to play as Bloom too, maybe even Stella. It shouldn't just be wanting a mixed person to play as the blackest character. The character that I could compare myself to as a child. The character who has a 4c afro. There are full black actors who could play as Aisha. Colorism is deeply ingrained is some people, especially the black community, that I don't even think they notice it. Sometimes I think people really forget about the fact that Netflix Originals or Netflix in general is well known for making new actors popular. And it’s the same here. The cast is great and they have gotten a big opportunity! No changes in cast necessary at all in my opinion. 😊
But i feel like they didnt become popular at all... because im sure im not the only one disappointed with how netflix has done with winx although there are movies they made that made the unknown actors or actresses popular the same with winx saga cant be said the same, even the story writing is way too... unlikeable (in my opinion) at this point i dont hate the actress they picked except musa, and flora s actress since its been a year since the win saga has been out on netflix right?
They don't always have to always pick huge celebrities over every other actor. I loved the cast! Looked like a normal group of teenage girls. Plus I loved terra! As someone who was also overweight when they were younger, and bullied. I never saw the original cartoon though. Can't wait for season two!

You know, I personally like the fact that the show used more unknown actresses. Give new girls the chance to show their skills. It’s good to see fresh faces instead of immediately jumping to popular actresses, who probably have lots of opportunities, anyway.

I personally liked the characters casted for Bloom and Stella. I thought they fit nicely. It's too bad the show was focused more on swear words and inappropriate scenes. It's sad that they only stuck to some of the original show, but I thought the idea of the burned ones and the fairy wings being ancient was awesome! In my opinion, they should either not follow the show's characters so much or make sure they were following the original characters. Half just really upsets fans and white washing Musa and Flora (Terra) was disappointing, but the actresses did really well! I am glad they gave opportunities to new actresses. I just hope we get to see Flora and Tecna in season 2! The trix would be awesome to see too!

Netflix tried to fix what wasn't broken to begin with, and ended up with making it worse than before. Some things should stay animated for a reason. The CGI I can understand because a more limited budget, but the characters really drove the story and those flopped majorly

I agree Musa needs a recast, and Flora and Tecna need to be cast, but why do people recast Aisha and Bloom? I get the wardrobe sucks, but Abigail Cowen is stunning and she’s the perfect Bloom. Madelaine doesnt look like Bloom. Also, Aisha is dark skin. So is Precious. Precious was a perfect choice and it these recasts are just showing peoples colourism. I agree Netflix fumbled on the live action, but Abigail and Precious shouldn’t be recast. Hannah is also a good Stella. It’s nice they gave up and coming actresses a shot.

Thank you for someone saying THIS. Everyone is complaining about everything and honestly it’s just getting on my nerves... They did a great job casting Bloom, Aisha and Stella. Ok yes they should have gone with a Hispanic actress for Flora instead of changing her name in order to use a white actress and they should have chosen an Asian actress for Musa. But I disagree with everyone hating on the entire series. And why does it have to be that everyone here always compares it directly to the original. It’s just not possible to make a live action series that is exactly like then, it would not sell and the special effects would have been a lot more expensive if they had gone above and beyond...
It just makes me upset to see so many people criticise the people that put so much effort in to this series...

Zendaya is Mixed. Yara is Mixed. AISHA IS BLACK. If you want a mixed person to play as a black character then have a mixed person to play as Bloom too, maybe even Stella. There are full black actors who could play as Aisha. Colorism is deeply ingrained is some people, especially the black community, that I don't even think they notice it.
