I love Zendaya, but she wouldn't audition for a role meant for a dark skinned woman. There are other dark skinned actresses that could play the role of Aisha as well. Ryan Destiny for instance. Also, you pronounced Musa's name wrong.
@Zenith both Aiesha and Beyoncé have fully black looking parents. Even if you got a lighter skinned woman to represent her, it should be a black woman. Zendaya is Biracial. She has 1 black father and 1 white mother. She’s not black. People need to stop putting her in roles meant to rep black women and she should know better since she’s never even claimed to be black and knows she’s biracial.

I personally liked the characters casted for Bloom and Stella. I thought they fit nicely. It's too bad the show was focused more on swear words and inappropriate scenes. It's sad that they only stuck to some of the original show, but I thought the idea of the burned ones and the fairy wings being ancient was awesome! In my opinion, they should either not follow the show's characters so much or make sure they were following the original characters. Half just really upsets fans and white washing Musa and Flora (Terra) was disappointing, but the actresses did really well! I am glad they gave opportunities to new actresses. I just hope we get to see Flora and Tecna in season 2! The trix would be awesome to see too!

I don’t know if your opinions changed but I personally love the story and the characters and everything about the Winx saga I think this is a great version of wings and I love it personally because it was a show I used to watch as a kid and now I get to see a different version of it now that I’m grown and I love both
Netflix tried to fix what wasn't broken to begin with, and ended up with making it worse than before. Some things should stay animated for a reason. The CGI I can understand because a more limited budget, but the characters really drove the story and those flopped majorly
So update we have a flora but no techna yet I bet they'll bring her in as some runaway fairy delinquent not the story line but they have to bring her in somehow to many people are complaining about it

I love the characters . They are all good in acting . They proved that they fit the role . You basically based the role of Stella on how many followers they've got on instagram which is not cool . If the characters here are new faces , then it's good . Other people deserves an opportunity too . There are a lot of new talents out there. Hihi sorry I just finished season 1 . I loved it . I could watch it over and over again . Waiting for season 2 .
They should have casted girls with different ethnicities as it was supposed to be. Winx is an inclusive series, that's why it's heavily loved all around the world.

I know why everyone wants the big actors to play these roles but i think netflix wanted to bring light to smaller actors and the show was also filmed in the UK. I don’t think these celebs would not just travel there but stay there iygwim
They don't always have to always pick huge celebrities over every other actor. I loved the cast! Looked like a normal group of teenage girls. Plus I loved terra! As someone who was also overweight when they were younger, and bullied. I never saw the original cartoon though. Can't wait for season two!
You know, I personally like the fact that the show used more unknown actresses. Give new girls the chance to show their skills. It’s good to see fresh faces instead of immediately jumping to popular actresses, who probably have lots of opportunities, anyway.
I would have loved a newcomer diverse cast.

i honestly could care less whether they've been in the industry for years or if this was their first ever role, my problem is how wrong the show did the original characters. flora was switched into an annoying, overweight WHITE girl who's name isn't even flora, musa was also whitewashed as fuck and tecna ISN'T EVEN IN THE SHOW!!! i fucking hate netflix with a passion. also layla wasn't orginally part of the winx until later in the original series. and i'm willing to bet that the only reason they casted an actual black girl for the role was to avoid getting backlash from the entire black community, but of course, forget about the hispanic and the asian girl, cause those don't matter as much, right? those communities won't cause that much trouble for being excluded. they could easily have casted the right people, but they deliberately chose not to cause they don't actually care about being inclusive, but only about rates and keeping the biggest community happy. such bullshit, honestly...

3 main characters are missing along with their races. Its all all white cast with one black girl. Fans weren't happy with the whitewashing, the way they tried to make a great show into riverdale. Infused charters and turning the most loved characters unlikable plus the fashion was horrendous.

Aisha is obviously a dark skin black girl, im actually happy that they did not go ''Hollywood'' style with the casting which would either race swap or give another inaccurate form of representation like the colorist examples given here to have mixed race black girls instead. Zendaya and Yara wouldve been more fitting for Flora, who is more an ambiguous girl of color. If anything Aisha's voice actress in the cartoon Keke Palmer would be a better suiter. That being said the Netflix live action did a darn good job with the casting! #realfansinceorigin

you only see yourself get represented in a good way when it comes to television. Winx Club was the only show that promoted femininity with power. Proving that femininity was strong, and could defeat anything, especially when you and your girls join forces together. The fact that A LOT of East Asians and Latin women saw a character that represented them; a character that didn't act like a certain way, or stereotype and wad treated just like everybody else; and this Winx Saga took it from them. It's just a shame. Like honestly

i think its great that Netflix is bringing in new actresses. And to be honest, i think its completely inappropriate for you to go around dissing the actors in the show... your often rude about how they should be recasted and i understand you have an opinion but atleast be respectful. And if you have seen in s2 that terra was not a replacement of flora... so chill
I honestly don't care about what body shape the characters had in casting. What I am mad about is that they totally whitewashed everything like they did in the Avatar the Last Airbender Movie and the whole script. Sure if they wanted to make it slightly more mature because we the audience have grown up ok fine, but how they did it was absolutely horrible. They made the Trix all into one person which is dumb because they each have a story as to why they keep antagonizing the Winx and putting the magic dimension into danger. The costumes are ugly like where is all of the color. Half of the Winx Clubs story is shown through fashion. The original artists of Winx CLUB had specially made outfits each season for each girl. They used ideas from Versace with different colors and textures for the girls outfits. The transformation showed how the girls were showing a part of them selves that they kept hidden and the colors played into that. Like I wanted bright colors, pastel colors, sparkles, and everything extra that you would never see me wear except for if I was a mythical being. This movie did none of that and if they wanted conflict between the girls ok do that because friends have arguments all the time. What they didn't do was make sure the fights were something relatable and had a good reason for why it even happened. Literally all they did was make some random angsty twilight Riverdale crap and slap the name Winx clubs name on it for profit. This movie is almost if not just as disappointing and trash as M.Night Shyamalan's Last Airbender Movie. I will never associate either of these movies as part of my favorite childhood shows. Honestly if you make a movie adaption of a show into a movie make it good. Make it to where you can see how much inspiration from the source. Talk to, work with, and consult with the original creators so that you know people will want to watch it. Don't make crap movies like these seriously don't if you movie creators want to start drama go to Twitter there is a lot of if there. Don't ruin people's childhoods and waste their time on stuff like this honestly it's not worth it. All it shows is how little respect you have for the original creators of these shows, the audience, and how much you respect people of color. Thanks Netflix for wasting my time and my energy that could have been used doing something productive.

I agree Musa needs a recast, and Flora and Tecna need to be cast, but why do people recast Aisha and Bloom? I get the wardrobe sucks, but Abigail Cowen is stunning and she’s the perfect Bloom. Madelaine doesnt look like Bloom. Also, Aisha is dark skin. So is Precious. Precious was a perfect choice and it these recasts are just showing peoples colourism. I agree Netflix fumbled on the live action, but Abigail and Precious shouldn’t be recast. Hannah is also a good Stella. It’s nice they gave up and coming actresses a shot.

Ok yes they should have gone with a Hispanic actress for Flora instead of changing her name in order to use a white actress and they should have chosen an Asian actress for Musa. But I disagree with everyone hating on the entire series. And why does it have to be that everyone here always compares it directly to the original. It’s just not possible to make a live action series that is exactly like then, it would not sell and the special effects would have been a lot more expensive if they had gone above and beyond...

I still think that even her would be just to get the actress fanbase to the show. In my opinion, Alycia Debnam-Carey would be perfect. Even though she has a pretty big roll in The 100, and others, she is still "less known" than Elizabeth. And also, I think she would match Darcy's style way better, since Darcy doesn't always have the "resting bitch face" that Elizabeth always put off. Or, casting the girl who plays Beatrix as Darcy would also be great. She acts amazingly, there's no denial.
I also really liked Dove Cameron as Icy, after seeing her play Mal in Descendants its obvious she has what its take to play a cold villain.
