I never watched this movie because Chris Brown was in it. I like my movies to star trained actors, not music stars
- it does accurately show how kids especially boys always idolized their father even when they're absentee and not around and never intended to. And how they still expect their mother to abide by principles and morals that their father didn't even keep.

My mom and uncles were still kids when my grandmother divorced my grandfather...and DECADES later, lol my grandmama didn't bother to tell my uncles she had a man-person (lol I can't bring myself to say boyfriend). This Christmas has always been a good movie to me and this movie actually had Chris Brown alive the whole movie unlike stomp the yard and takers 😅😂

I love this movie!! It was written by my pastor's nephew; every member of the family is named after someone in Preston (the screenwriter)'s family and the pastor at the end of the movie is named after my pastor 😊

I always get this movie mixed up with Almost Christmas, which I prefer more because the characters feel fully developed, where this movie I feel like they're underwritten along with the script. What was the pay off or lesson to be learned? I will say what I love about both movies is the characters are not stereotyped of how people think Black people act. It shows that we're flawed just like every other family in this world.
Almost christmas copied ALOT from this, down to the fighting sisters, baby brother amd single parent even Omar epps/Mekhi Phifer characters 😂

@@isaiahedwards6586also both parents wanted to sell family property. This Christmas was the cleaners and almost Christmas the father wanted to sell the family home. Also in both movies the eldest sisters had a cheating husband while the other sister was seen as the independent women.

Truly an ensemble cast. Recently watched this as an adult for the first time. It's honestly underrated, great movie.

I always felt like they should've had a sequel where Joe and Madear have a christmas wedding weekend and Senior pops his ass back up. In my mind Senior is dude that plays Dresser from the five heartbeats. I feel like that would explain the height of Q and Baby and why the last two kids are light brights lmao dnt ask me why I've thought about this

“This Christmas” is by far one of the Best movies ever made
I hear you. However, considering Lisa raised Kelly’s daughter as her own, so she could pursue her dreams Kelly should have handled her with more love, patience and respect. For that matter Malcolm is the only father and provider the little girl has ever known, so that should count for something even if that relationship didn’t work out. Kelly had selective amnesia and an attitude towards her sister that I didn’t understand. I could understand why Lisa had resentment.
I think you are confusing this movie with another. Which is funny cuz someone else did this in the comments. I guess everybody used the same storyline but added a little razzle dazzle lol

From what I know, if Claude has been AWOL for more than 30 days, he would've still been in jail. He could've been dishonorable discharged from the military. His pay was definitely forfeited. He probably would no longer have benefits. Basically, his wife would have to be the breadwinner for some time. If he had to be confined for a year, she would've been raising a baby alone for a short time.

Showing up in his Marine dress uniform and his service weapon made absolutely no sense. Pulling it on a civilian, he would have been charged by both military and civilian courts. Did he walk away from his job to come home for Christmas? Big plot hole.

I loved your review on this movie. How you touched on every characters crazy story in this movie. This movie is my favorite black Christmas movie of all time. Claude was crazy trying to hide his pregnant white girl wife from the family especially on Christmas. I wonder how they met in the first place. Also Chris Brown was awesome with his singing in the movie. Him and Idris Elba are my two favorite guys in this movie. You should do a review on the toxic Why did I get married.

I guessed correctly again. I’m on a role 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. Your pop up is going to be in full effect due to the big names in this movie. This is one of my favorie holiday movies. My wife & i saw it in theaters. I watched it the other day on Peacock. Fun Facts: Delroy Lindo & Mekhi Phifer were also in Clockers, Columbus Short & Chris Brown were also brothers in Stomp The Yard & Laz Alonzo was in it as well. Loretta Devine & Laz Alonzo were mother & son in Jumping The Broom, Idris Elba & Chris Brown were also in Takers & Delroy Lindo, Idris Elba & Regina King were also in The Harder They Fall. Delroy Lindo looks like he could be Lebron James’ dad. Next week’s review is The Preacher’s Wife.

Peace to Sharon Leal I recall first seeing her in the Monifah I Miss You video. Peace to Regina King I have enjoyed her work since 227. Peace to Loretta Devine. Peace to Loretta Devine the first role I remember her in was A Different World. Peace to Delroy Lindo Crooklyn is a stellar film. Peace to Mekhi Phifer Clockers was heavy Delroy was in that film as well. Those 2 guys were bookies so Fam owed them money for gambling on sports.
