    You could use the new segment command to divide the line up into equal segments instead of manually placing points :)

    This is useful. I couldn't get my IGES file to export with the points from my assembly file. Placing the points into the seperate .sldprt seems to resolve this issue. How you cleaned up the txt data was also very helpful. Thanks

      How did you place the points into .sldprt? When I try to copy the points from assembly file and paste them to .sldprt it always gives me an error.

    sorry to say i am not unable to export the data points by save as (.igs) file. When i have done this it is written as no available entities to process through IGES. I want to extract 2d data points, but unable to do this. Who can suggest me the possible procedure to do the same?

    such a shame Solidworks does not have implemented export for ages! RIP

    Understanding co-ordinate systems helps tho solve what ever the alignments are in space if u know the point of origin it is referring to and the point of origin you are required. It's all about triangles and circles. Add trigonometric formulas and differential calculus.
