    I appreciate that you've tried to take a positive approach but it's not actually accurate what you are saying. Young Living does have a couple of farms in the US but they actually source from their own farms and partner farms all over the globe...from locations that are indigenous to the plants. I understand you are looking for a way to try and give your choice to sell doTerra an edge over Young Living but this isn't really accurate.

    Young Living has farms all over the world. I think 8 total that they OWN. They also have partnered farms where they train local employees to run their farm according to YL Seed to Seal standards for sourcing, science, and standards.
    YL owns a lavender farm in France, the supposed native landscape for lavender, but it was lavender from Gary’s farm in the US that revived a field of dying plants. Location matters much less than soil type, pH, moisture, nutrient content, composition, chemicals used on it, etc. I studied environmental science and YL understanding of soil is impressive.
    All that being said, DT has worked hard to create an organization similar to YL, and that is a compliment to their vision and their desire to produce quality oils.
    DT also doesn’t have single frankincense! YL Frank is reason enough for me. It’s as pure and high quality as it gets.

    The YL lavender farm in Utah is only one place they grow lavender. YL has large lavender farms in idaho and FRANCE.... yes, I just said France, where YL has a harvest every year that is open to members who can actually come and help with the harvest. They grow and harvest Lavender, Rosemary, Clary Sage, Lavendin and Einkorn there. And you mentioned Bulgaria? YL has a rose farm there and had their first rose harvest this year! In addition, they grow Valerian and Roman Chamomile at the farm in Bulgaria. What about Croatia (Helichrysum)? Australia (on one farm blue cypress and on another sacred sandalwood)? Canada (Northern Lights Black Spruce, Ledum, Yarrow)? Oman (sacred frankincense)? Philippines (Elemi)? Ecuador (Ylang Ylang, Palo Santo, Mastrante, Lemongrass, Eucalyptus Blue, Dorado Azul, Ocotea, Plectranthus Oregano, Rosa Muerta, and Chocolate)? Taiwan (Jade Lemon, Hong Kuai, Xiang Mao, Camphor Wood)? Hawaii (Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood)? Naples, Idaho (Balsam Fir, Pine, Idaho Blue Spruce, Ponderosa Pine, Western Red Cedar)? St Marie's, Idaho (Lavender, Melissa, Idaho Tansy)? Washington State (Peppermint and Spearmint)? Each one of these farms is growing and harvesting crops that are indigenous to their areas. In addition, when YL owns the farms, they have even greater quality control over the finished product. To say that YL prefers to grow plants in Utah has just been debunked. I just listed 13 other farms that YL has put a major investment of time and money into to ensure that they have quality control over their oils. AND, BTW, they provide employment for the local people. In addition, they have many partner farms that they work with that are held to the YL standard. They currently source their plants/oils from 6 continents and over 30 countries. I was unable to find that doterra even owns a single farm, but as far as YL goes..... I just think the record should be set straight.

      @OurHouseofLife 6 лет назад +2

      Just because YL does not grow every plant, does NOT mean that Seed to Seal has been debunked in any way. As a matter of fact, dT is proud that they source from various farms around the world, and indeed so is YL. They have some amazing partner farms all over the world. Each partner farm must abide by YL's high standards for the seed, the soil, the distillation, the testing, the shipping etc. They have oils that no one else on the planet is producing or selling. They (Gary) discovered a plant when in Ecuador that had never even been identified! He was honored to get to give it it's botanical name and it is now commonly called Dorado Azul.

      YL Seed to Seal lost credibility when they were fined $750,000 for illegally importing from Peru and Nepal, so either they were not overseeing every process from seed to seal as they claim, or they were intentionally ignoring international laws. Everything you said about DT is true for YL.
    Farms all over the world to meet best suited growing conditions
    Awesome Philanthropy
    Third party testing - as well as in house testing along the way
    Can meet with owners -in fact anyone can visit any YL farm at any time, there is an open door policy
    As for the legal troubles you mentioned, they self reported when they found an issue, it would have doubtless been picked up if YL hadn't picked it up themselves, that screams integrity to me!!
    So you were wrong about the farms, but you were right about the fact that they have more in common than different. I have DT product as well as YL. So whilst most of this video was awesome, in the interest of honesty and integrity, I had to point out the discrepancy about the farming.

      Integrity would be fessing up and admitting to a problem when you thought you could fly under the radar and not be caught, because you have high morals and chose to do the right thing. If they thought they'd be found out anyway, all that says to me is that they wanted to beat the media to it so they looked better. That does not say integrity. Now, that is not to say they don't have integrity (they may). I have limited knowledge of the company. Just think a little bit before you get so upset and start talking in anger. YL spent 2 1/2 years making sure that is was and setting a standard for the industry. They did not "feel they could fly under the radar." No one in the industry knew this law was expanded from animals to plants as well. Once it was discovered, YL did everything in their power to comply. To my knowledge, YL is the ONLY Lacey Law compliant essential oils company on the planet currently. And because of their honesty, the whole industry is now aware and quite likely will be working hard to make themselves Lacey Law Compliant as well, protecting our endangered plants. They knew they would get slammed by the media, or anti-YL media and yet they chose to self report anyway. Integrity.
      They are passionate about making sure they take care of the people and the plants on this planet.
      They are also the only company that is following the direct FDA rules and regulations about labeling regarding ingestion and topical/aromatic uses...hence their new Vitality Line. Integrity.

    Okay, well you are a bit outdated actually, as Young Living has farms and also leases land in different countries! Hawaii, Australia, France, Serbia, Philippines & controlling several areas of south east Asia as well as Canada! They use the best and the reason I'm happy with the "Seed to Seal" is exactly that they know what is in the earths soil. This allows me to know that there are no toxic chemicals used to be keeping weeds, so no pesticides. Heather said she would prefer to have things grown where they are globally grown best and that's what Young Living does as shown above. In my opinion, what naturally occurs in soil wherever it is is what is happening in the water, air and other things can affect that soil. In nature horrible things happen sometimes and soil can naturally be changed or modified by whats happening around it. So if something happens like an accidental spill or soil contamination from leeching going on in surrounding areas and the soil that grows the crop is not monitored as in Young Livings seed to seal guarantee, gives me the confidence in the oils I use. There are so many situations in the world that happen and society doesn't find out for years that the soil has been contaminating the food chain in that area in a dangerous way! With Young Livings "seed to seal" guarantee I know exactly what is in the soil that's growing the plants making my oils. This is just another way to look at it & everyone's different, but I choose safety! Their product still is grown in areas of the world that grows things the best way such as Sandalwood harvested on their farms in Hawaii or Lavender in France or Helichrysum from Croatia, Frankincense in Oman or many different botanicals in Ecuador! Just a shout out to my country of Canada as well because they own several farms in British Columbia that grow an array of trees! With membership in Canada for instance I have unlimited access to Young Living University Canada to find out the interesting ways to use essential oils in your life. What are they helpful with from cleaning your entire house with one capful of Theives cleaner to a litre of water to hygeine products to food quality oils you can use in baking as some are deemed safe for oral consumption(by Health Canada or FDA in the US) & are so concentrated and exciting from lemon, orange, lime, black pepper, oregano, ginger, nutmeg where 1 drop equals strength of several lemons for instance or one drop of oregano or basil to spice your tomato sauce. so concentrated! I could go on and on but I'm happy to know where their product is grown and that there's nothing harmful for my family or pets!

    Thanks for introducing me to doTERRA. I am changing from YL. I ordered a Desert Mist diffuser last month, and even as a 'member,' I paid $63, plus shipping, and it was sooo cheaply made-it was Dollar Store 'quality!' It is extremely cheap, very thin, white plastic, and the top doesn't even attach to the bottom. It spilled onto my wood furniture when barely nudged. They should be ashamed of themselves for overcharging so much for this cheap piece of junk. For non-members it is $83. It is inexcusable for a multimillion dollar company to put out this shoddy product. It came with 2 bottles of essential oil, tangerine, and peppermint, and the buyer does not get to chose the scents. I almost died when I unboxed it and saw it was junk. When I originally purchased the new member kit, last year, I ordered the kit with the Rainstone Diffuser, which was 10 times better quality than the Desert Mist diffuser. However, after 3 months, it stopped misting. I called the company and they sent me a new 'plate,' which I had to install myself. This did not fix the diffuser. Member price for the diffuser is $179, wholesale, or $229 regular price. The company should provide a return label with free shipping, and replace the product, for that price! Not a good business practice at all. I give up on YL.

All YL oils are also distilled on property- when I checked any other companies website they can only say a vague region and use the word sourced alot. They really do not have a clue where the actual farms are and where the oils are distilled. Also I like to see the ingredients list on the website and the bottle for every essential oil - most companies only put a Wikipedia description of the oil and fail to list the individual ingredients per bottle. Marketing ploy.

    I just met someone who is with Young Living. I just started with dōTerra. This person was saying that young living essential oils is more pure than doterra. They told me that the reason why young living essential oils is more pure because they do seed to seal. They said to do my homework. So now I know that all of Young Living plants,herbs Etc are grown in Utah. One of the reasons Im with dōTerra is because they are doing what you call Co-impact sourcing.. in which you explained pretty well in your video Heather. You are completely wrong about Young Living growing exclusively in Utah. Young Living has farms and partner farms globally where they apply their seed to seal process that you speak of. It is absurd to suggest that the variety of plants sourced by Young Living could be grown in Utah's arid climate. Do some research and you will discover that Young Living leads the industry in sourcing plants in their native habitat.

    • @HeatherGrantWellness
      @HeatherGrantWellness  6 лет назад +3

      Actually if you watch it again you will see that I say that YL prefers to grow and source their oils locally on both farms in Utah and Idaho which is true. This seems to be the way all of doterra thinks about YL. Bottom line, both great companies, both great oils. The only question one needs to ask once given the correct info is, what brand rep do I want to work with and where can I get the best upline support to fulfill ones own desires and which comp plan best suits you, because that is actually a huge difference between the 2, both are great in their own ways. Hey Derek, I am by no means a comp plan expert, I have been with YL for almost a year now, mostly as a customer but am starting to build my team. Young Living pays you more as you start and pays less as your team gets bigger, but there are many other bonuses that make up for that at those deeper levels. They have a great rewards program as well that is pretty amazing. You can Google the YL comp plan for more details if you like. I am not in Doterra, but when I looked at their plan, they are the opposite of YL in that they pay out less at the start, but more as your team grows. I did not see a rewards program, but as I said, it was me looking for info and there may be things I have not seen. I do not know about any bonuses or rewards. Both are great companies that reward their distributors in different ways. I am with YL because of my upline, who are MLM legends. We are all passionate about the oils we use and recommend. I have seen amazing results with our oils, as I am sure Doterra users have with theirs. Lets lift each other up and make this industry the best anyone has ever seen!

    I agree their are a lot of similarities and being a Young Living member I know a lot about the company. I think a little more research would be good. We have co-op farms as well and are huge in helping out the communities and families that help or are near by our farms. One BIG difference is you may source from farm X however distilling is also a huge part of the final product and that is were was are very different. Proper, trustworthy distilking is a must to ensure top of the line therapeutic grade oils. Something eles you may want to look into is the integrity you spoke of. If you look at the FAD policies about labeling essential oils Doterra has completely ignored the policies when it comes to labeling. To me that shows a lack of integrity. If they ignore a policy put into place to protect the consumer, as silly as we know it maybe, they should do it and not wait to be forced or fined. That is just one of many areas I have seen lack of integrity. If they ignore that what eles are they choosing to ignore?!? My very close friend is a wellness advantage for DT and the more I hear here share the more concerns I have. Just some food for though. I appreciate the video and learning more about DT

This is a perfect example of why I chose to be part of the Doterra culture; because doterra attracts people with integrity! Thank you for this amazing through explanation. Love & Light to you!

      I don't think it is sharing with integrity when you slam (inaccurately) the growing process of Young Living. Let your products stand on their own without maligning another's products or processes.

      Heather Grant also you’re selling people a snake oil from a company that is now under federal investigation for trying to promote it as a “cure for cancer” and being a pyramid scheme. This just makes you look worse by the simple fact people actually believe cooking oil can fix everything.
      This is the 21st century. Not the Dark Ages.

    Young living has partners all over the world to get their oils from regions where they are cultivated best. Their oils once arrived in USA are tested for purity and if not to the high standard they will not compromise and be use. There are several scientist in their labs in USA that test all the essential oils for quality and purity. Been happy with the quality since the inception of Young Living, been to their farms and seen their distilling operation.

    I do see that she did this THREE years ago, but even three years ago she is not knowledgable in how YL works. She shared SO many wrong facts on YL. YL DOES source oils from around the world and also has MANY foundations to help those who work on the farms. She often talks about how she is affiliated with DoTerra so she is NOT a unbiased opinion. She has been mislead and has NOT done her research. Wish she would at least follow up and explain she had not done her research and misspoke of what YL stands for and where they get their oils from and that they are the ONLY company with a SEED TO SEAL promise. Pure oils

    Seed to seal ALL the way... And yep I have to agree your info isn't accurate but that's okay, you could make a new video with accurate information so you aren't misleading people??

    You're really giving inaccurate information. Young Living has farms wherever the plants grow, meaning they have farms wherever the plants and trees are indiginous.

    • @HeatherGrantWellness

      Apparently you haven't been to the YL farms in Utah where they grow tons of different crops, most of which are NOT native to Utah. Come visit the farms they have in Utah right off the freeway. Last I checked lavender grows indigenous and has a higher therapeutic value in countries like Bulgaria or France. ;)

    • @oilsandmore
      @oilsandmore 6 лет назад

    Your remarks about Young Living are not accurate. Young Living has sources all over the world, growing plants where they are indigenous. Young Living Lavender comes from plants from France. In fact, Young Living supplied plants to some farms in France when their crops were wiped out. Actually, Thieves formula was one of the formulas taken by DoTerra. What you say sound like you are selling Young Living. You ought to get your facts before you make your claims.

    This is not fair...you mention a lot of things about doterra but not young living...if you are going to compare the two companies, give equal amount of information...and young living does grow and harvest plants in other parts of the world like south america, europe and australia to name a few...did you actually research young living or speak with someone who has good knowledge about it?

    • @sheilarebustillo8214

      First, let me just say YL have their OWN farms not just in UTAH but in other parts of the world which YL owns too.. There is a seed to seal process... Second, I have friends from doTERRA and I am in YL.. I don't understand why there is a competition. Like, cant we talk about the benefits of essential oils in general without stating that one company is better than the other.. What is best is that these essential oils offer relief, they help us feel better, they are Gods gift and we source it out from plant just so happen that two companies wanna point out that they harvested it better than the other... Can we not do that? I love YL oils and have a few doTERRA oils ive tried that also works for me.. Stop comparing the two companies.. If you want try the YL oils then try the doTERRA oils and whatever works for you that's great! Third, I value friendship over oils so when my friend start to talk about doTERRA I just listen I just hope that other people would do that too... Just respect each other.. I mean just saying... PEACE!

      @@sheilarebustillo8214 I agree. I love my dT and my very good friend loves her YL and together we talk about our oils with no bashing. We just love oils but what works for us are 2 different companies and that's okay. I do wish, sometimes, that we loved the same company. I believe we would have made a great team. But either way, we are both happy with what we chose and it's kinda nice to check out the competitors EO's without having to fork up the money. We all know EO's aren't cheap. 😊

      Young Living has many global farms. All you have to do is go to the Young Living website to see the farms all over the world. Many more farms than any other essential oil company. You are drinking the Kool-aid from a misinformed DoTerra member.

    • @oilsandmore
      @oilsandmore 6 лет назад +3

      Oh, Maddie, YL has farms on six continents in over 30 countries! AND, many more oils to choose from. Heather is either very misinformed or is intentionally saying things that are not true. That a rather scary basis for switching companies.

      Yes, I mention that in my video - watch again in case you missed it. However, YL owns their farms instead of working with farmers and growers from all over the world.

      @jessicathompson538 6 лет назад

      Heather Grant first of all, you speak of owning their own farms like it a bad thing to oversee the entire process from seed to a sealed bottle. Second, you are incorrect again. YL partners with farms all over the world.

    Oh man Heather. I recently found your videos. And have been loving them. So much. This one though, bummed me out. I am a doTerra who switched to Young Living person. I still love some doTerra products. But this video is way off. I am just going to assume you don’t know anything about YL. The lavender farm in Mona is hardly the “side of the road”. Lol. Do you know where YL has their farms? Truly curious, have you done any research? So funny to me. You truly offer great information, but this is way off.

      Oils and Faith I switched to YL from DT also. She needs to do her research and have an oil experience. If she does, I can almost guarantee she will have an oil awakening. I am not going to bash her, she just truly doesn’t know. It’s kinda sad. When I facts and had the experience I realized that no one can compare to YL... no one. Not to mention the product line is amazing. 🤗
