Real, it's not another "literally me" which in reality not literally me but Maya an realistic to everyone because your problems is real to any people so yes it's literally me for real
_Hello, enlightener of minds! Although you said that your opinion is subjective and should not be taken seriously,I think your theory about anxiety is quite realistic.I also have anxiety as one of my biggest problems, I really understand Maya in this and I see part of myself in this image. Seriously come on people, I’m very scared to give my presentations in front of school bros whom I’ve known for more than 5 years, what can we say about random people, I literally can’t ask the time because it makes me anxious on the street. Still, no matter what anyone says,Massa made a masterpiece! This strength is not in epicness and grandeur, but in the simple and understandable relationships of the three sisters. It’s very cool that he was able to convey Maya’s mental illness, as you said, through the prism of humor and at the same time with serious overtones, I’m surprised how much of a genius this Dutchman is. Thank you Sam for happy 3 days of hyperfixation and true joy and happiness in life. Thank you for your opinion too, it was interesting._ 😊
Rewatched the video and i have to give it more praise: This is an incredible analysis of the show and shows the genius writing of Studio Massa and what Ongezellig really revolves around, mental health. This is an unique and charming concept series that I always found tragic it didn't find the support of independent funding or of a major Studio, but good news for you @Tyromaniac, fans are taking the series and continuing it. The future of Ongezellig now seems brighter and its truly beautiful how much effort the fandom is putting in to give Ongezellig a second chance. Check it out! Comics and animatics are coming to continue the story.
The characters really complement each other. Coco is wholesome, Maya is complex and thus relateable and Mymy is unhinged, makes me think about the Superego, the Ego and the Id.
As a closeted gay transracial BIPOC female, I am amazed with how I feel represented and valid through Maya in the show. I will always be a real woman! ❤
Hey I just watched this review and it convinced me to check out the show. I always look out for reviews like this so if you like any other shows you should make a video about them. I appreciate it
I also have dyslexia, ptsd, possibly bipolar, ig anxiety, eating disorders, severe suicidal depression, insomnia, severe trust issues and like a bunch of other stuff I can't remember rn (I collect illnesses like pokemons :3)
Cool serious analysis. You tackled really well what makes Ongezellig so memorable. While I appreciate the historical puns and the dark humour of the series a lot, what really sits in my mind are the feelings I have for these three characters. As you said, they truly carry the plot. Every single one feels really compelling, especially Maya's issues and Coco's attempts at fixing her. It's just sad we didn't get to see the conclusion of their personal stories, but while not conclusive, Massa presented a great take at the serious topics he tackled.
@@Tyromaniac Make exaggerated choking noises whenever you say the letter G. Honestly you could probably just make weird gargles for the entire video and any Dutch people in your audience will understand you perfectly.
Overall good analysis, you explained the ideas and execution of the show very well, though I disagree with you on the point of it not having a plot being bad. It doesn't need one because the focus of the show is, like you said, on the 3 sisters. I get it if it's just your personal preference for shows to have plots, but you can only make a point against writing quality based on the execution of ideas, not the ideas themselves. Also I'm not seeing where you're coming from on the animation only being decent, I agree that the animation in part 1 and 2 was just okay, but part 3 and onwards had great animation. So I wouldn't say that's giving it enough credit.
If I remember correctly, I think I said that I didn't mind the show not having a plot since (like you said) it chooses to focus on the three sisters, amd that the animation gets better as time goes on. That could just be me projecting my current opinions on my past self, but I could've sworn I mentioned it in the video. If not, then yeah I agree

The characters really complement each other.

Maya is literally me. Like literally me. Like she's almost identical to me. Like scarily so. I have autism, ADD and anxiety.
SAME bro. We might as well call autism, ADHD, and anxiety the Triple A's at this point cause anybody who has one usually has all three
