I would love to see Matt Sera break down the 5 Rambo movies before the latest project New Blood comes out I enjoyed the Rocky review you guys did. I like all the Rambo movies but my personal list 1 being best and 5 being weakest is: 1. Rambo First Blood Part 2 2. Rambo 4 3. First Blood 4. Rambo 3 5. Rambo Last Blood
While watching the second creature commandos trailer I started digging the characters. I was seeing Circe and thought about Wonder Woman. I saw Clayface and it made me excited about the new Batman being more fantastical. I started thinking about how Rick Flag Sr is going to be in Superman as well as peacemaker season 2. It really dawned on me that I was legitimately excited about this world and the interconnectedness of it all in a way that I can’t say I am with the MCU currently.
We also got Boy Wonder, which is an animated film focusing on Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, BaneXDeathstroke team up film, a Teen Titans live action film, the Wonder Woman Amazon prequel series.
I grew up more of a DC fan than a Marvel fan and The Dark Knight is my all time favorite movie. I felt that Trilogy was the closest to the Batman I grew up with, which was Kevin Conroy's Batman. Pattinson take is a close second. Superman is my second favorite superhero and Superman: The Movie is one of my top favorite comic book movies. Christopher Reeve got me started with that character. Sine then I've been a fan of Tim Daily's version from the 90s animated series and Tyler Hoechlin's version from Superman and Lois. Tom Welling was pretty good as well. My 3rd favorite superhero is Spider-Man from Marvel. Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland is my 5th most anticipated movie thus far, while Toby Maguire is my favorite live action Spider-Man. The Batman 2 is my 3rd most anticipated movie and Superman with David Corensweat is my #1 most anticipated movie thus far. I hope James Gunn's DCU does well. It's time for DC to over take Marvel.
DC Studios will have the DCU which is the big main connected universe and they will also have Elseworld projects which are standalone films and shows outside of the DCU like The Batman 2,The Penguin and whatever else they have in the future which all still fall under DC Studios. Gunn also said there will be a DC Elseworlds logo in the beginning of those films and shows to show it’s outside of the DCU and there’s no confusion for the audience.
DC never had their own studio it was always just a side department at Warner bros. DC Studios has only been around since 2023 and they’ve only released 2 projects since its creation, Christopher Reeves Super/Man Doc and The Penguin which have been great. Hopefully the first couple DCU projects creature commandos and Superman are also great. This is why I’m excited for the future of DC because they finally have their own studio and leaders who care about the future of the franchise.
The Authority is absolutely my most anticipated out of all of these projects. Would highly recommend the comics series. They're kind of like The Boys meets Shield. A super team that has like, a Batman, Superman, Iron Man, a hippie stoner magic dude and a Nick Fury type character etc. They all orbit the globe in this big space ship and they basically police the world against intergalactic and interdimensional threats. Even if the world doesn't want them involved.
The characters in the Creature Commandos trailer already have my attention. I'm excited for where the DCU seems to be heading. Superman is my most anticipated film coming out next year.
Some slight revisionist history paints wb in a more positive light than they deserve regarding how they handled Zack Snyder’s movies and universe. They announced the reboot of the universe before flash, Shazam 2 and aquaman 2 even came out. Tons of studio interference trying to keep up with Disney and make Snyders movies like the marvel ones. They messed him up before the dceu even got going. Hopefully they learned their lesson and leave Gunn alone. Snyder walked so Gunn could run, his sacrifice should be honored and we shouldn't be divided as fans. Wb is a crappy company but hopefully the future is bright for DC fans. Def a fan of the penguin
WB definitely handled past DC films horribly, but given that DC is now under its own studio, DC Studios, where James Gunn and Peter Safran are the sole CEOs/studio heads and where the only person they answer to is Zaslav (who has made it clear he is in full support of the way they are handling things), there's room for hope, because WB no longer has the ability to stick their grubby hands in and meddle with DC projects anymore. The last DC-related project that was under WB was "Joker 2" and that was because Todd Phillips didn't want any input from Gunn. And with the first two projects under DC Studios being "Super/Man" and "The Penguin", they're off to a great start.
WB had terrible management but it's disingenous to blame them for everything regarding the DCEU, WB didnt write the movies, Snyder did, WB didnt spread bad reviews for Snyder's movies, the audience just didnt like them, WB didnt keep feeding false hope and rallying a toxic fanbase to revive a dead universe, Snyder did and still does to this day. Just as there's a lot of revisionist history to make WB look better, there's even more revisionist history to make Snyder look like a poor victim of an evil studio, the craziest one being how his movies were supposedy universally loved and WB ruined it all by firing him, when the truth is that he had total creative control for MoS and BvS and people just didnt like the movies, BvS in particular became a laughingstock to this very day and at the time held the world record for biggest drop in box office on 2nd week, which is the real reason why they fired him. It baffles me how his fans really believe that WB fired him for no reason, as if a company would fire a guy that's making them money and good reputation among audiences for no reason, Snyder just wasn't doing that for them. I still remember how much of an embarrasment it was to admit you were a DC fan after BvS came out, everyone would be clowning on you, that movie made people get the impression that DC was a brand for edgy teenagers who only like darkness and violence, it was not a good time to be a DC fan. People just DID NOT like Snyder's movies, no matter how much his fans insist on the contrary.
you're the one playing revisionist history.. there's always a snyder bro in denial. His universe sucked and he never got any of the characters right besides their visual aesthetic. cool visuals no substance
@@IndianaJake You make a good point. And it’s why I’m more excited for Gunn’s universe, especially after the new “Creature Commandos” trailer. While WB is VERY much at fault for excessive studio interference in the DCEU, if what I’ve heard regarding Snyder’s vision for DC is true, it just strikes me as an unsatisfying missed opportunity. I'm all for linear storytelling, but for a DC universe, it seemed way too singular-focused. One of the things that makes me excited for the coming DCU (that James Gunn has spoken about and we're already starting to see in the "Creature Commandos" trailer) is the idea of extensive worldbuilding and a DC universe that feels expansive and lived in. Beyond the Creature Commandos and Waller, we have a Wonder Woman archvillain as the seemingly main villain and three characters that exist within Batman’s universe in Doctor Phosphorus, Rupert Thorne, and Clayface. That alone tells me that literally any hero, their Rogues gallery, or any other character we know from their world could appear literally anywhere. And that excites me so much.
Snyder stepped away from the justice league due to the death of his daughter who had taken her own life. They brought in josh whedon to finish the film that is what resulted in the change up of the film not studio meddling. The shit show of Ezra Miller and Amber Heard both resulted in the shift in direction the writing was on the wall before those films even got released.
Man of Steel only made 670 million at the box office. Superman will no doubt have a big weekend, earning maybe 200 or 300 million opening weekend. If it's a massive hit, if it makes 200 million each weekend, Gunn's Superman could no doubt outgross MoS. 670 million isn't a tough number to beat in the grand scheme of things. Brazil will definitely play a factor in it and maybe China.
@IndianaJake but Superman is already an established character and DC is already an established studio as well, so it's not like some random movie, it already has a fan base that guarantees it to sell.
My most anticipated movies thus far 10. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 9. JW: Rebirth 8. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow 7. Beetlejuice 2 6. Twisters 5. Spider-Man 4 4. Mission Impossible 8 3. The Batman 2 2. Scream 7 1. Superman
Theres also Paradise Lost which is a tv mini series based on Wonder Womans home Themiscyra but its about Wonder Womans mom when she was a young girl and will prob lead into a new WW film.
I don’t trust Disney since they stuff up daredevil with him appearing in she hulk as her bang buddy hahahah and then having him in 1 scene in echo hahahahahhaha
Talia Al Ghul is Damien's mom (played by Marion Cotillard in The Dark Knight Rises, best onscreen death ever.) Trained by his grandpa and the league of shadows he's a real bag of dicks when he wants to be, but fits nicely in the Batman setting.
Can we cut the shit & watch Bone Tomahawk already. S. Craig Zahler the films writer/director also has two other great films, Brawl In Cell Block 99 & Dragged Across Concrete.
Fantastic 4 retro futuristic vibe looking more interesting than retro futuristic superman... Both will succeed but I think F4 is gonna gross more! I believe superman 25' will make atleast as much as guardians of the Galaxy vol 3 with 800mil worldwide gross from his existing fans (which tops the underperformed wokenda n ants during marvel's declining period).Imo,TSS shouldn't have been a part of the free HBO Max streaming contents but atleast WB saw it's potential by greenlighting its sequel peacemaker b4 TSS release. That was a major streaming success too ..DC,Marvel and Marvel Studios GOTG fans loves it! Audiences are smart!! They know the director and what he did(while being popular among major studios too). NOT because he worked with marvel. If that's the case, gotg3 wouldve share the same fate as the wokenda and ants! He already has massive amount of fans(by the millions n im 1 o em)...then add more millions from real DC fans who actually do reads DC comics like me...
DC got it horribly wrong by trying to take on Marvel at their own game i.e. Family friendly big budget CGI movies. Marvel have that nailed down and DC movies just felt like poorly made budget versions. DC should keep going down the path of the Dark Knight Trilogy, The Joker, the new Penguin TV show etc... Gritty, dark, more adult movies with 'proper' acting and minimal CGI. That's what DC absolutely does best and sets itself apart from Marvel. If they stick to that path they'll be great. Touch wood...
@@IndianaJake 😂 they definitely can, but with this being the relaunch film wise, and already having a ton of characters they're introducing, Krypto is just one more thing to get to. As a huge Supes fan and all that's riding on this don't want it to feel overstuffed.
I'm really hoping this Universe goes well because I really want DC to thrive on the big screen.
Same but we will only know when superman comes out, if it’s successful a lot of people ( I doubt it) apologise over it
@Jeffro5564 what?
I FUCKING LOVE that Matt talks like a henchman from Gotham city lmao. Love the show keep it up
He needs to say "ITS DA FRIGGIN BAT!!!"
Give him a cameo or something 😂
Creature Commandos doesn’t take place in the past. It’s modern day.
Yep, The Penguin has been awesome.
It's one of only two new shows I'm following right now and I agree The penguin is a great show thus far.

I’m so fucking happy Matt is a huge comic nerd as well

Both worlds collidered 😂
Great to see harloff with serra 🎉
Great episode!
Sensei Fabia would make it perfect.
Great show, but really wanted to hear Matt’s thoughts of Dynamic Duo
Loving the podcast Matt
Life gets busy but I have been meaning to watch Penguin 🐧
I agree that Dredd was awesome. I seen it a couple of times in the theater.
We also got Boy Wonder, which is an animated film focusing on Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, BaneXDeathstroke team up film, a Teen Titans live action film, the Wonder Woman Amazon prequel series.

Loved this DC episode!
Great episode. My legs are sore right now from walking. Slowing getting back into working out. Day 2.
Creature Commandos is modern day. It takes place after the events of The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker S1, it leads into Superman and Peacemaker S2
The Authority is absolutely my most anticipated out of all of these projects. Would highly recommend the comics series. They're kind of like The Boys meets Shield. Is this Matt’s podcast or a clip from one of Kristian’s shows?
I hope they merge The Batman into the DCU.
Not gonna happen and it would be a bad idea if it did
My most anticipated movies thus far
10. Five Nights at Freddy's 2
9. JW: Rebirth
8. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
7. Beetlejuice 2
6. Twisters
5. Spider-Man 4
4. Mission Impossible 8
3. The Batman 2
2. Scream 7
1. Superman
huh? some of those are already out....... you a bot or somethin?
I'm no bot. I just haven't seen them yet. Not everyone makes it to the movie theaters.
@@billymoore7182 must not be very anticipated then if you haven’t seen them hhahaha
Supergirl has a release date. And they casted the villian already and they film in January in the UK
Btw if you liked ‘dredd’ watch the raid redemption. Dredd is pretty much a copy of that movie with a superhero skin on it
Theres also Paradise Lost which is a tv mini series based on Wonder Womans home Themiscyra but its about Wonder Womans mom when she was a young girl and will prob lead into a new WW film.
Creature commandos takes place in modern day after the Peacemaker Season 1 finale. But some of the monsters may have been around for a long time.
Exactly. For instance G.I. Robot fought in WWII and, not sure but Eric Frankenstein could've been around since the Victorian era.
