- Another kayak trip down the local river stopping by various gravel bars and islands. I found plenty of the usual stuff, but also some firsts for me. My first arrowhead/spear/knife point, pyrite and a septarian nodule/concretion.
I mention my last cutting video, which can be found here, • Rockhounding glacial t...

Hi thanks you tube for sharing this story love stones a real rock young love Linda j. Peace gifts from God
I don't know about others but I always get way more rocks than I plan to every time!
Not many interesting rocks where I live but a load of fossils in some places. I found a load of horn coral and a ton of crinoid pieces. I loved watching this.
Yep your cool man im subscribed!🤙 hunting the tillites😎❤ i dig it bro!
beautiful color & unique shape 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Really nice pieces! Thank you for sharing 👍🏼
Nice man
Thank you much
Chert with banding is banded chert or banded flint. Agate will be mostly translucent. Chert is a noncrystalline sedimentary rock, agate os usually a quartz infused metamorphic or volcanic rock
Very nice! I enjoyed watching!
Nice finds 👌
That Jasper arrowhead is awesome!! Wow! What a cool find!! And that agate at 7:28!! 🔥🔥🔥. You are finding better and better stuff every time you go down the river! You got a good spot there!!
It's always a good day on the river, a full day.
What about 15:49? The agate he left behind. Upper left hand you can’t miss it! Well I guess you can cuz he did haha
Nice
Wow beautiful area and wonderful finds wow I’m telling ya this rock game is awesome and I’m all in haha good video really enjoyed it
I enjoyed how you imparted your wisdom on us.
Nice finds! I'm still tumbling some fossil tabulate coral that is pretty solid quartz or silica skin stuff. Found a trilobite a couple weeks ago at a construction site. Fossil coral is always such a fun find. The cell structures tell the language of extinct life in the coral. Much of the Midwest was ocean and that makes for good fossil hunting sometimes.
Amazing how much your glacial til looks like ours here in Washington puget sound area. Great finds & very informative video!
Thanks for watching.
nice area lots of good stuff , subscribed you
Buitfull
lugar lindo de ver! e ainda com tantas pedras boas!
You got a pretty nice bounty there. We have a great variety of banded and spotted chert in Indiana. I like the translucent Chert it looks like jelly. I have found very translucent Dark grey and white pieces in the White River. Blue can be found in the White water river, white river, 8 mile creek, and Williamsburg creek. Feldspar with almost labrodite quality is also found at these locations with silver, gold, blue and green schiller. The reds I find in all my spots I have found a two that a translucent so carnelian does happen but very rare here. I found a couple pieces or Red Feldspar marbled with blue spots of quartzite very pretty. More common are the Blue translucent nodules with yellow or brown spots in it kind of look like birds eggs.
Nice picking. Would love to see what's inside all those rocks.
06:57,below,the,agate,is Jasper,or Jasper agate.
I’m enjoying your finds. I need to get out and find my own river to explore.
ممتع
horn coral
You can have mixes of agate in most things - like agate jasper, agate chert. Rule of thumb if its mainly see through material with banding or inclusions its an agate, regardless of other materials.
i realize I am pretty randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Jayceon Clay Flixportal :)
@Aarav Alan thank you, I went there and it seems like a nice service :D Appreciate it!
@Jayceon Clay you are welcome =)
@7:19 it looks like a point to the left of the rock you’re holding. 7:17 you can see what appears to be an ear. Also looks like a point top left both by green pieces of grass?
Yes it is crinoid. I collect them
Make sure you know the rules in your State regarding collection of Native American artifacts. Federal regulations state that it is illegal on State and Federal land, if you collect on private property it IS legal. Otherwise you are required to leave it in place and report it for research.
Great finds!
I was just wondering about that...
As long as you tell people it was found on private property its not illegal
Well that is just a stupid requirement for a broken bit which was most likely discarded or broken in use. It's in the ground and unknown or unseen, and subject to weathering, erosion, and the elements until this person discovers it.
Thanks for the great video! Quite a day for you, and a beautiful boat trip to enjoy. Your question about the blue material is the one I ask every time I pull out a blue rock: agate, or chert? Inquiring minds need to know!!
I just say chalcedony if it’s in between the two because it is. We can make up our own rules. 😃
if it has bands ...it's agate
17:43 Hey, did you notice a woman's eye in the middle part of the stone?
What river are you in here? What do you think could be found around Middle Fork area, the other side of Paxton, Illinois?
I'm not familiar with the Middle Fork area, so it sounds like a good place to explore and find out whats there. This river is west of there a bit.
@@bloomingtonian7529 which river please?
Where are you????
Bloomington Illinois
🇻🇳👓💎❤️❤️👍💎❤️
6:30 interesting swirl rock? Is it a mineral? Is it a rock? I find a bunch of that stuff in a stream on my property, does anyone know what its called i cant find anything online about a smooth white rock with bluish tints in it.
Actually it's chert with some agate type banding in it. I just foynd it recently among my other rocks. It's in the tumbler now.
@@bloomingtonian7529 thanks, i searched everywhere.
Bloomington, IL or Bloomington, IN? Or is there another one somewhere?
Illinois
Sub’d
Is that arrow head jasper? It’s “chergate” 😃
So what you call silica is jasper or chalcedony? I have a lot of rocks similar to what you have found and I’m trying to nail down an identification.
When I made this video, I was still unsure of the differences between the various silicates. I have a better understanding of that now and am more likely to call them by their proper names instead of silica.
The arrow head was likely heat treated chert.
South central Indiana ?
Central Illinoiss
15:47 is that an arrow head on the top right side of screen???
That’s a spear point
