    Wow - just the IDEA - ! - that there can be pressure when someone stops winning for a moment! Just seeing the 'runner' behind you is one yard more near suddenly, - ANYTHING can kill our confidence in winning. But a few sportsmen, some politicians, actors and others, USE the pressure to make them be even better! Amazing. John.

      Mindset in snooker is a big part of the game, and the issue here is even if you're on the home-straight and you're playing against an under-performing O'Sullivan, he can be up your tubes in no time.

    I was pulling for Bingham, awesome early frames, pulled back into lead after 3 dismal ones, just couldn’t keep up the momentum in the end. Showed a lot of heart, though.

      Stuart is brilliant when he's got his eye in (still one of the best payers on the circuit), but snooker, as you know, is all about the winning when you're off. Ronnie, for all his faults, is better in the mire than all others. One of Stuarts main issues is dwelling on mistakes... he does that 'what if' smirk.

    @CesarMuroya I'm really loving the way you have edited these videos and made them available to us 😀 I am very new to this and learning so much from watching your videos. Ronnie is getting several kicks like the one at 22:20 and I wonder if you can explain what causes it. Do the balls get static and pick up chalk dust from the fabric? I'd enjoy hearing your thoughts on what causes this.

    • @CesarMuroya
      @CesarMuroya  10 месяцев назад +11

      Kicks occur when chalk particles get between two colliding balls, excessively increasing friction. The chalk adheres to the balls because of the stroke and dust on the cloth. In the Taom Anti-kick chalk, the particles hardly leave the cue tip, significantly reducing kicks. However, some players have experienced a lack of friction and so miscues.

    If Ronnie would have hurt the tip on the foul at the end of match 8, are you able to get another cue? Or is that a forfeit?

      @nuntana2 5 месяцев назад

      Nope, as above... or you can drag your spare cue out or request one. Bearing in mind, it can take two weeks to break in a new tip! He's chewed his tip off and spat it out on at least two occasions!

    The only reason O'Sullivan wins is because his opponents make mistakes at crucial times, while his mistakes are not crucial.
    Have you ever wondered about that?
    He could have lost many matches if his opponents didn't eff up and lost all his championships.
    It boils down to who makes a mistake at what time; not who is the better player.

    • @88porpoise
      @88porpoise 4 месяца назад

      Over the hundreds of shots in a match, everyone is going to make mistakes. The best player will make fewer and less costly mistakes and take greater advantage of their opponent's mistakes.
      A major skill in snooker is to plan your shots such that a mistake isn't as impactful. For example, if you are potting a ball, pick the shot where if you hit the cue ball a bit too hard and it goes too far, it lands on position for a different ball than the one you had planned. Or if you are trying to pot a difficult red, you might play the shot that ends up with your cueball in balk in position on a colour but not on a red so if you miss the pot your opponent doesn't have a shot.
      Heck the literal name of the game is about positioning the cue ball to give your opponent a harder shot where they are more likely to make a mistake.
