Clyde is a solid runner and looks from the outside to be a great teammate. I like his swagger (and never-say-quit) personality. He brings it on key plays, much like Jerrick McKinnon-whom I’d also love to see back in the 53.

@@dawood121derful no he didn't, because he was injured, but he's still a great running back who's been under-utilized his entire career - he's one of the highest rated pass blocking RB's in the NFL
For the 4th and short situations you add more versatility because it’s not just the QB sneak you’d have to worry about. You now have to worry about Big Red calling a designed pass play with Wentz in as well which would open up their game.

I'm still glad that Andy Reid doesn't have Pat doing QB sneaks!!!! Some say Jalen Hurtz get injured a lot & probably the QB sneak isn't helping?!?! The 1 weakness I noticed in the SB, that when Pat would pass the ball quickly to Pacheco 4 him to run thru the center, the 49ers shut that down immediately!!!! The Ravens only shut Pacheco down once!!! BUT in the 2nd half when he started throwing longing passes, Pat would throw him to the ball wide & somewhat long!!! But Pat tried the center thing again in either the last drive of the game or in OT?!?! Immediately a commentator said he shouldn't have. BUT then Pat suddenly made up for it, by running w/ the ball himself!!! I know he prefers to work to throw or pass in the slots. With Andy Reid there's got 2b other plays they can design 4 that difficult down. And Trav who gets criticizes 4;his blocking & has admitted that it's not his strong suit, Trav DEFINITELY blocked when Pat ran in OT to make the 4th down!!!
I noticed a comment by a member. What would be ideal, is if Andy Reid drew up a # of distinct plays for Wentz. That way it wouldn't be SO obvious when they would do a QB sneak!!! And don't simply put in for a QB sneak. Andy's great at not just designing a play but KNOWING when to call it!!!!

I love the QB sneak idea. Being a California native and getting most raiders games even after the Vegas relocation, we saw them do it very well with Derek Carr & Marcus Mariota.
A 1 yard specialist would be nice because QB1 would be on the sidelines scheming for 1st And 10.
Wentz played at North Dakota State for now KSU coach, Kliemann. He won 2 consecutive FCS National Championships. Great to have an upgrade at backup for this year.

All of the locker room stuff, contributing to the QB room, helping analyze plays during the game and backup QB stuff of the sort I have no idea if he is gokd or not, but he is a better player.

Not only could Wentz be a great asset to run QB sneaks on 3rd or 4th and short, but he is still a capable enough passer that he could also be a great asset to PRETEND the Chiefs are running a QB sneak and run a quick pass play as well. If he does that successfully even a couple of times, that should be enough to keep opposing defenses guessing as to whether his presence on the field automatically means a sneak is coming...

I think they should use Carson Wentz on the cubey snakes because of it develops a high success rate. Other teams will have to respect it and then you can start mixing in some trick plays to keep it interesting. Similar to what the eagles did last year

Dobbins would be a help if he is signed but he would be a rb 2 but Heliare return helps for insurance in case McKinnon doesn't return and Wentz makes a help in the 3rd and short on QB sneaks or wildcat but solid backup.

I have to chime in about the short yardage being a problem with no quarterback sneaks the other problem is that when we have short yardage we have terrible play calling for whatever reason are offensive coordinator tends to act like we don't have Patrick Mahomes all of a sudden when we have just a few yards to go

Teams getting Mahomes off the field is a win for them. No matter how they're doing it. Putting in Wentz doesn't sound great to me. I'd rather get a RB who can make a difference there.
