    All RUclips channels should take notes on your “start to finish plus a follow up” included in every video. You never leave us hanging and it’s appreciated.

    Pro tip. Use a drill with a bit that fits that nut in the center of the hand crank. Boom. Electric, speed controllable, pump. Lol. Also. Use heavy duty door slides for the tool box. Make it so you can slide it as close to the tank as possible for storage. Then pull it out to clear the crank handle.

    Was thinking about the air noise.. Then it occurred to me, if you just pumped gallons of fuel out of the tank, then air needs to flow into the tank to replace that volume. Maybe the sound was that air balancing the pressure in the tank? Really enjoying your videos, have learned a lot watching!

    • @GCFD

      Thank you! I think you have the air noise correct. It's the pressure balancing.

    Good tip on the bolt thread but I would use a standard nut rather than a locking nut just to avoid damaging the plastic lock. Does depend on how messy you are with cutting.

    Locknuts don't reliably lock after the first use. Use a regular nut for cutting the bolt.

    I find it best not to slam the lid on the tool box but rather open the latch with the handle and gently close the lid. We have a transfer tank/toolbox combo on our truck and the latches are cheap and bend easily. All it takes is slamming the box 1x and the latching pin gets all bent out of shape. But if you close it like I described it doesn't have an issue.

    I bought a Husky box for my truck a while back & paid $100 for it. Best $100 I ever spent. I store all my tools in it, the box had a padlock latch on it already so that was a plus.
    I’ve got a tank I’ll probably put on my truck, but the L part of it is 8” tall & since my bed side is 1” lower than the new ones.
    I’ll probably be getting a bus to live in plus it’s my bio diesel processing tank, so I might never put it in my truck. I had a 50gal tank like this guy has, but had to sell it.
    I’m looking at others & the steel ones just keep getting bad reviews as an aux fuel tank to the truck, so I’ll have to just bite the bullet & just get an aluminum tank off FB.

    I would put a steal cage between the tank and the cab of the truck. If you're in a wreck those screws pointing towards the passengers is deadly. Not sure of the weight of fuel but water is a little over 8 lbs per gallon and that's a lot of force towards the cab. Even if no one ever rides in the back seat can't be safe enough hauling extra fuel around in a vehicle.

  • @Stratos53100
    @Stratos53100 2 года назад

    The swivel fitting is more advanced so Obviously they always charge extra for a piece that should be included as the overall package, Be Aware that some of those hand pump seals can leak from the base of that crank handle assembly, If you ever notice that its dripping at the edge of the crank then the seal gets worn out. At my last job we had several pumps that had to be replaced over time, some had to have total replacements. ( not sure of the same brand or model of pump )

    • @GCFD
      @GCFD  2 года назад +1

      Ahhhh! My pump is leaking at the center point of the crank. What a pile of garbage. Diesel drips all over the place when I'm cranking away. It only pumped 3-4 tanks before it started leaking/dripping.

      @@GCFD ( Other reply didnt take,YT is having issues w the comment section) Oh Really, Geez Glad to pass the unfortunate knowledge then, Yeah check the Manuf. schematics etc online if you have to & see if there is a kit for repair, Otherwise you may have to retro-fit w an electric after all, good luck w it.

    • @GCFD
      @GCFD  3 года назад +1

      You probably could Alan. But I'm only filling my small equipment so I wanted something that was slow! My big excavator holds a decent amount so I have to crank it.

    • @Stratos53100
      @Stratos53100 2 года назад

      @ alan bellerby The handle on most of them is a complete assembly with an inner seal that can go bad after time (as i have mentioned in my comment) So therefore no you cant just disassemble the handle itself without modding the end of it, which is not worth the hassle.

    I would have got the one with the electric pump on it instead of the crank
