@@robertcahilljr9812 I appreciate that. That was the main suspect on my list! It ended up just being the dust shield that got bent. Since rebending it back, I’ve had zero unusual noise from the rear.
@@sqr2024 surprisingly the tire carrier and hardware only weighed about 8lbs, o.e correct spare tire is roughly 25lbs so I did cut probably 33lbs off the back. I definitely will keep that in mind if I feel the rear slip when taking corners hard and I can try to add weight to the rear. I do have bigger then oe rear tires currently that counter balance a few pounds from what I shaved off.
@@KosoffKustoms just a note, i am in a lot of corvette social media groups. A lot of people report once they removed the spare cover under the car it affected the control of the car at certain speeds, for example air going under the car would normally "swoop" along the upward angle the cover had towards the rear of the car and out the back. Without it people reported air going up and filling that space and having a negative affect on the control of the rear.
If it is a Wheel barring it could catch fire. Get it checked out asap.

Spare tire carrier along with the tire add weight to the rear of the car. It should be cleaned and replaced to maintain the balance of the vehicle.
