Sounds like it will continue to be hit and damaged and the images will be less accurate over time. I bet it doesn't last near as long as Hubble has....

Let's do the math, 01 damage every 5 months, 18 mirrors, it will last 9 years or less.

can't they install protective plazma field orb all around the telescope so nothing can get in?

I would have to assume that meanwhile theres a lot more space debris as scrap from earth orbits gotten further away circling around the moon, then expected or communicated, kinda like a intensivating tessler effect on the outside. If this is observeable no one would admit this? Like the international space station that would have more fungi grown on it when it wil get plunged into point nemo in several years? The LaGrange point 2 is weaker then other LaGrange points like "in" the Kordylewski clouds, but still seems to attract some particles. Even though the chinese rocket stage accidently impacting on the moon (on the 4th of march) doesnt give a pattern here. Not wanting to spread bad news, i am rather speculative about mans footprints.

There’s tons of waste in the military budget that could be cut rather than cutting NASA’s projects. I believe space exploration is a valid use of taxpayer dollars.

They made so many other pre precaution procedures and protections but nothing to defend from debris or replacement mirrors 🪞 makes no sense to me when your spending so much money on this , this just makes so many questions like so quickly after finally taking images it gets damaged like of something dosent want us to see all that yet that last part is hit or miss more of a joke but still so many questions out there
