What drops from 31:25 mins is perfection. At 46 years old pumping these tunes out while driving my car gets me some odd looks sometimes but if they where there back in 97 they would understand that being there in those raves was the best vibe you could ever experience and that feeling will never leave me.

Im 44 great times and skiba b2b with hyper was legendary. Unfortunately skiba has changed and it seems to suit the current scene and its "ravers". Dnb jungle listen to 90s roast, one nation, Telepathy, helter-skelter raves to name a few GOOD TIMES

Ahead of his time!! I true originator and innovator!! Missed and adored by many!! I used to religiously lock on to his super Sunday set with Nicky Blackmarket on Kool FM. He use to raise the roof at One Nation and was leagues ahead of the rest.
I was raving to the roast, vibe'alite, sanctuary, slammin' vinyl, all the others and smaller ones i can't exactly remember so long ago, but i will never forget the atmosphere's in everyone of these places delivered. I still listen to the tape packs and the quality of the sound is what brings them memories flooding back, dark smokey rooms n big up the strobe lights.....R.I.P. STEVIE HYPER D. Peace Out

Rinsed this sets for years, this was when Skiba could easily keep up with Hyper D, 97 was the only year when Skiba was close to Hyper. Skibadee B2B Hyper D over Special K - Pressure Roll, it always ended up in a serious MC battle!

97 represents the pinnacle of DnB for me, just the right blend of Jump Up and DarkSide. Yeah things got great when Andy C ushered in the DarkSide with his Ram Records offerings etc, Adam F with Brand New Funk, but it began the beginning of the end for me as eventually each release had to be bigger, heavier and faster than the last. And that kills Dance music genres in my experience.
Just happy to have access to all these sets on here, oh and a crap ton of MiniDiscs =)

97 may have been the "Golden Age" but it was still great in 2003. It depends really. It's really hard to remember too ;) remember meeting Mc Five-0 at the bar in Camden Palace; he bus me a chat :)

Five-0 is a good guy, he residented here in Cambridge at Warning. Met him loads of times at the parties back in the day. Always with a big grin isn't he =)
Split221 Fair enough man. It depends what age you are really. I'm in my late 20s. Have met plenty of ravers in their late 30s always talking about "the golden age" and I always feel jealous haha :) I know someone who grew up with Jumpin Jack Frost.
As for Five-0, I honestly can't remember I was too buzzin lol. He was always the one wearing those night vision goggles and yeah, he seemed really safe :) proper old school junglist.
Yeah, all good mate. Everyone always remembers their era as being the best. I caught the very arse end of Raving IMO, started listening around 94, got out in 97.
Went to a Techno night in 2001 and never looked back mate, gone were the fights, the attitude. Reminded me of the Happy Hardcore nights I went to before DnB. Also opened my eyes to Break Beat, Electro and Tech House. Funny how when most people are into DnB, they refuse to like any other genres. Least that was me and my friends experience of it all.
Five-O is still going strong from what I understand, Warning 3rd birthday was my first. They've hit the 20 mark now, christ! Time went by!

The weird thing is all these original UK sets are ignored by our millennials, but over Holland Belgium France across the pond Canada their college & uni yutes love it, it's like their equivalent to rare groove.
That's true our Stevie Hyper D sets and Jungle sets are appreciated a lot by Canadians and Americans. Hyper D played out in Toronto before he passed away. He was touring and was unwell after it. Sad story. But his legacy lives on and we are here to celebrate it.
Take Me Back: Pirate Radio Archives I heard a rumour that he died in Maidstone after a set at the old atomics venue shortly after that tour.
