Absolutely adorable tags. I just love these books Marya designed. I haven't ordered the little personas yet but tomorrow I will. I have 7 books so far. I absolutely love that idea with the stitching. Though I do have a sewing machine, I don’t get along with it very well.😂 believe it or not I’m still having problems. I do stitch around stuff occasionally, but I don’t do a very good job so this is perfect for those tiny things that I know I can’t get around. I really love to hear you get excited over your own work. I think it is such an important thing that we all do that. And why not, that’s why we do this right? So we can enjoy it and make things the way we want it. There little cuties turned out fabulous! I don’t think it’s possible for them to get any cuter. 😂 As always, if you leave us motivated and inspired! Hugs 🤗❤
Hi Chantal… SO CUTE… I love everything about these cute pieces… I have been doing more thinking/watching than actually doing lately… and been shopping, of course… I had ordered the 3 sets of rice paper from Marta but haven’t received them yet - was surprised when I saw on her website that she’s only shipping once a month so maybe they’ll be here by Christmas? I love that she added lovely background pages to her newest books. The Autumn book is one of my favorites… the Halloween book is mostly cute but I do not get the whole bat theme at all so I’m glad I can cut the wings off of some of them - I just wish there would have been more different costumes. I got on a roll one of my last comments and what I started out wanting to say is that despite doing collage and art journals for several years, I’ve never actually MADE A JUNK JOURNAL from scratch- so… I’ve added that to my someday, maybe list of ideas. I agree with you. The liquitex clear gesso is the only thing I can find and I have had a horrible experience with it. I'm so glad your having the same experience. I thought it was something I was doing wrong. It also doesn't cure and set after it dries to protect the page. If it gets wet, it becomes white and damages the project.
Yes, same for me, Julie. Some might like it, and I guess it depends on what it's used for, but I will not use it for my collage. I just received my new clear gesso today. I'm going to try it on a new project and, of course, let you all know if I like it 😊
Chantelle these are so cute. I use mat medium for collaging and sealing. I'm very surprised liquitex reacted so poorly. Was it mixed enough or is it humid and hot there. I have the white gesso liquitex and I love it. I thought it was supposed to be sandy. Anyway I loved all your projects. Why do they make it so complicated to make a hidden paperclips when yours are sooooo simple. So happy to hear your enthusiasm with your work. You're in the joy zone. So fun. Hi Suzy! Yes, I'm thinking Liquitex is supposed to be gritty. But because I didn't know that and I was expecting it to be smooth, I was disappointed. But I'm thinking you are right. This means that it's fine and doing what it's supposed to do. Yes, those paper clips are really for everyone! I'm using mine as a page marker. Thank you for being here, and hello, NJ! 👋 🤗
Hi again… I forgot to mention that I’ve used Liquitex clear gesso without problems as a sealer to prepare surface to add pigment colors for shading, although I don’t try to use it like a glue to attach collage pieces - I use some sort of glue for that (glue stick, liquid dries clear glue, or gel medium) My Ranger clear gesso separated to an odd consistency… I’m looking forward to Marta’s video comparing different brands of gesso. I’ve been playing with the idea as well but haven’t decided a winner. I don’t have the Little Birdie brand but I have some others. I’ll be sure to share with you my results once I’ve played with them enough. Take Care! 🙂

I’m not normally a Halloween person but I just love both books. The steam punk book is the only one I don’t have I just didn’t think I’d like it but a friend showed me hers and I’ve now succumbed and it’s on its way. You’ve done a lovely job.

When using tape I rub glue stick on it. Then you can move it around and get it aligned better without damaging the project.
