- This video took place in Chongqing, China. Several motorcycle police escort a private cars with hand tendon break patient by trauma, rush to the emergency room of the hospital as quickly as possible.
The video is provided by my friends. Since the original video is not convenient to transfer it to me, I can only use the video with watermarks posted on other video platforms for upload youtube
It is really frightening how all these drivers have zero awareness of their surroundings, not even the slightest idea on their own vehicle's size and space it occupies. It's as if no one cares about others' well-being. :(

@@Brick-Life Some cars did give way but the general consensus seems to be that its not per se necessary. Check out some videos from Germany, the Netherlands or Denmark. The difference is mind blowing.

Chinese cops need a lot more training on how to escort emergency vehicles.

@@etlogramen8665 Probably both, on several ocassions the police bikes were on both side of cars, so of course the driver would not know to move left or right. The police needs to clear the path well ahead not a little bit at a time; the English and Dutch police really do it well. The people need to learn to respond by moving left or right, as the traffic law would/should say, when emergency vehicles approach; is this not a part of the driving test?
@@melcomc19 Asian countries such as china has the worst driving lesson in history, only few of them teach well...... I do agree with you by escorting ahead of time, i saw english and dutch videos about escort... They are clearly different from china, however, i guess they didn't thought about teaching they're escort police bikers to you know try to be ahead.
Wow to all the comments saying drivers yielded to police but failed to yield to the ambulance. The vehicle being escorted is a frigging private car!

People seem to not understand or used to motorcycles escorting a four wheeled vehicle. Their respond is so slow. This is why Indonesia police motorbikes including ambulance escort volunteers always do zig-zag to show other drivers how wide they should give the space for the ambulance. Other than that, salute to the police for being able to take their time to save someone's live. Im hoping for the drivers of China to be able to give way to emergency vehicles more properly, awareness is the key.

What a tragic story from what I saw.
Chinese drivers are generally good at stopping for surprising situations, like someone walking out. You're less likely to die in China crossing a highway on foot than in the west. BUT they don't use their mirrors or indicators which you can see in this video. The ambulance driver is amazing. If the ambulance were wide like in the west, it would have gotten stuck easily.

I honestly had no idea that Chongqing was so HUGE in size! I am also surprised at the sheer number of skyscraper resident towers. I tried counting the ones I could see, but lost track around 100...

That was dreadful to watch. The cam car driver did remarkably well, but nobody else did. Most drivers were unaware and unresponsive. The police strategy was confusing and often ineffective.
An incidental viewer, not really going for watching traffic -- I have to admit I saw a similar film taken in Paris, France. Apart from how the car drivers responded, there was a substantial difference in the training of police personnel. The officer here is slower in guessing which lane would be the most promising, and much less trained to use his hands to police (well, yes) the drivers. His gestures are less articulate, less convincing. And to start with, there should be two motorcycles begining the convoy.

What is SO WELL visible:
- Chinese people on ANY street aren't the sharpest knives in the drawers... They can drive BUT cannot read the simplest and most significant signs from policemen (siren, lights-on, hands, slow roll, and a car behind the first bike BUT in front of the other motorbike...)
- the infrastructure is not too developed, not well managed if with someone who has to be injured cannot arrive in 10-15 minutes in ANY kind of CIRCUMSTANCES and AT ANY TIME cannot reach a hospital... (with siren and lights)
- infrastructure looks alike random, house, house, condo, house, condo, condo... too many motorways, no streets, look like there is no place the people, no trees, no living places, only for the city, for the government, and only subordinated to revenue

Might as well drive without a cop escort or blue lights. Is this the first time motorcycle cops in China tried to escort an ambulance?
Rather chaotic. sometimes between 1st and 2nd sometimes between 2nd and 3rd. Awareness of the necessity of allowing emergency vehicles to pass should be raised. I do not mean this as a critic, but as an opportunity to improve.
In our country we a rule: in case of traffic jam most left lane has to drive more on left, middle and right lane have to drive more on right. This way between most left and middle lane a space is created for emergency vehicles. (Drivers have still to assimilate it as a spontaneous behavior, but there is progress).

Its terrible to see such a transport to go this slow, its definnely the fault to the unaware citizens, but the police officer could also get better training. For example look how these transports go in the Netherlands.

This is just horrible to see a big city like this. All the drivers barely care and not even take the iniative to give way even after the police has wave. The escort motorbike really doesn't help much. In European countries like France snd rhe UK, their escore work perfectly and effectively.
