Hi Philip,
superb video mate. Played there last year myself and it is hands down the toughest course I’ve played. I don’t think people really appreciate how blind the course is and how inconceivable the bounce of the ball can be. A serious test of golf but the setting is just excellent.
Incredible production value as always
Hope you’re keeping well 👍🏻
Thanks Jamie, ye it’s a serious test. Course knowledge is definitely a major advantage here. 🙃
Very underrated golf course.
Absolutely stunning place 🫶
Fair play to you showing the good days and the bad ones! Great video regardless
Thank you, the bad days do happen and there’s no point in hiding them
Royal Tara is my track, nice parklands course, few nice parkland courses around Co Meath.
I’ve heard good things about Royal Tara must do an episode there 👍
Played here recently, was lucky enough to have a chat with a member on the practice greens beforehand and he was kind enough to inform me that all the greens break towards the cliffs even if they look flat. Tough course.
Ye you need to think your way around the course. Spectacular place 🫶
@@breakingparthequest3601 Yeah beautiful spot, hope you went out to hit a ball off the tips on the 6th. Pity you got held up so much, can be very frustrating.
@doobich01 it can happen. No didn’t hit the tips on 6 😞
Philly look at your swing on the 12th tee, that’s how you should hit the ball all the time. Way more balance and not jumping out of your shoes and early extending. lovely swing there
I’ll try
Philip fair play you kept going , Wicklow is very tricky and with your power off the tee you dont need driver especially on the front nine and in pacticular first 5 holes
Definitely learnt that the hard way 😢
That approach shot rolling into the bunker on the third would just about broken me.
Trust me it still hurts 😢
Is that driver shaft too stiff? Would love the data boys to give it a service and rummage something up in the kitchen. We all get those days unfortunately, keep the content coming.
Data boys????
Course looks impressive. It would be interesting to see how a member plays the course as there are a lot of short par 4's.
It is very impressive, not a bad idea Pat 🤪
Love the videos mate, I've been binging your stuff. I think you need to work on your course management a little tbh. The 2nd here was a prime example. Being over aggressive lead to a triple and the start of your downfall. take an iron, knock it within 30 yards of the green and get up and down, bogey at the very worst. No harm in playing safe. As we all know...golf is a hard game lol...Keep makin videos man!
Thank you, definitely something I fall down on a lot. Probably need help in that department if we are being honest. 🙃
Fair play for finishing. That looked brutal. Nothing worse than waiting around. Did the group in front say anything to you or just ignore that you were behind? Seems mad. Wonder did they see the cameras and not want to let you through? Hopefully the next video goes better all round 🤣
They ignored us completely, you can even see on 14 when I’m walking off the green they are just leaving the 15th tee 🙄
@@breakingparthequest3601 Yeah that’s what I thought I saw and why I asked. That’s bonkers! Ruins it for everyone including themselves
Yup
Tough Day on the course which was no doubt a result of the slow play / lack of etiquette. That said I have watched your videos for quite a while and without being too critical you definitely need to stop using that 60 degree as much as you do. Its costing you far too many shots as its not the percentage play a lot of the time. Using a lower lofted club would give you better results. Keep up the great content.
Your definitely right, wait until you see next weeks video 🔥🔥🔥
Hi Philip have to say your patience was certainly tested & we all know as a guest you have to be very neutral but I can say it the group in front were just rude & ignorant oblivious to their fellow golfers these types exist in every club & you were unlucky just in the wrong place at the wrong time.chin up & keep us entertained
Thanks, they were visitors too. The next video is 🔥🔥🔥
Hi Philip, what's your handicap? Maybe playing off the tips was a bad idea 😅great video though
🤣😂🤣 it literally says it at the start of the video
Your hc? Unless it's "FORE" it's not at the start of the vid 🤣
Phillip, I've noticed there's an awful lot of movement with your feet (especially your left) during your back swing. I'm no expert, but I can't imagine it would be doing much for your swing.
Whenever I keep my feet still I play my worst golf 🤷♂️
@@breakingparthequest3601 So, are you doing it intentionally? It looks very unnatural to me and I honestly think that it's impeding your game.
Keep up the good work!
@@stoogemund Its a very flat swing. Hence the 2 way miss.(Pulls and pushes, the ball to the right looks like a push fade not a slice, open clubface in to out swing) Club face looks open at the top of the backswing. Which again makes sense as he would have to flip the hand to close it through impact to close it. So when he's playing well the timing of the hands is good, but once the timing if off, the 2 way miss comes back. But impact position is excellent. Especially with the irons. Little bit of early extension but nothing to bad. I would look at his takeaway. get the hands higher at the top of the backswing and hinge the wrists more, and try to get a more square clubface at the top of the backswing. (Maybe a slight grip change) Looking at his older videos that takeaway has gotten flatter. Probably trying to fix the slice, but its created its own problems. Plus i suspect he does not get his weight forward enough on the downswing.
Course seems to lack definition off the tee especially on the front nine, nice views but bad route in and lack of intelligence of members..
I think you may need to go play there 🤔
@@breakingparthequest3601 St Margaret’s the back of Dublin Airport is a good parkland course.
Must try it
6 out of 10 course
You mean 1 in a million 🤪
@breakingparthequest3601 it's actually just an average course. I've played nearly 300 courses in Ireland at this stage. Wicklow would be around 200 or worse in my top 300.
@roryjosephmurphy7199 and that my friend, is just your opinion
@@breakingparthequest3601 a pretty good opinion considering the courses I've played pal.
Literally impossible to stand and wait for each shot , absolutely noting worse to be stuck behind
It’s a game killer 😭
Old members don't recognise single players coming behind them, unfortunately .... @breakingparthequest3601
If anything, I know to avoid the attitude that exists out there, the view would not be enough to suffer that carry on.
The guys were not members, all the members we met were very nice and accommodating
A single golfer has no rights on a golf course. The people in front are not obliged to let a single golfer through because it's assumed you are not in a competition.
I knew someone would bring this up 🙄 nice people usually let us through
All good, both USGA and R&A removed that rule in 2004:
“The 2004 revisions clearly implied that the USGA and R&A consider a single a "group," but did not explicitly state that. So another revision, in 2008, clarified that point and explicitly stated that a single is a "group," and has the same rights as any other group.”
@colmdolan1986 love it 🥰
@peterbrennan4231 it's called manners though.
Great birdie on the 14th. A very impressive 2nd shot indeed. Sorry you got held up so much. I can only hope it wasn't any of my fellow members holding you up! Hopefully, you'll have a better round next time. 🏌♂️🏌♂️
Thank you very much, you have a super golf course 👌
I’m nearly positive they were visitors
