I 2nd the "review your lessons" portion. I basically skimmed through the lower beginner in How to Study Korean and am now going back through the beginner levels in Talk to me in Korean to remember the stuff I just skimmed through. Some definite regrets there. I get the review packets that HTSK offer for each group of lessons and review with those.
You are SO REAL, so cute! i love your energy! Thanks, your tips are very helpful. My progress is a kinda slow, i'm getting into a 'slump' but i will get back in track! Thank you 🥰🌟
I’m not sure if im a lower intermediate (I’ve been using solely immersion after I learnt 한글 for 7 ish years) but I understood you completely!! It surprised me really. The grammar is really daunting for me to study unlike Japanese so it kind of sucks, so I resort to kpop or kdrama for learning
As far as I know the grammar for Japanese and Korean is really similar based on what I've seen. I use Teuida for learning Korean atm and it introduced grammar points in short lessons that are really entertaining. Like today I learned 고싶어요 So like 먹고싶어요 means I want to eat lol Teuida basically teaches through short lessons and mock pre-recorded conversations that you do with the teacher and actor where it grades your pronunciation. And its completely usable for free. You dont have to pay anything you just get a key a day that unlocks a new lesson plus the practice and review quizzes that go with it. . .and new units will have a mini vocabulary lesson with the first lesson of that unit. I've learned so much and managed to keep a 37 day streak as of right now. Its amazing.
7:44 not going to lie I actually laughed out loud here. . .mixing up words or saying the wrong thing or something that differs from how you really meant it is very relatable. And the panicking was super funny and cute 😂
I really needed this video to begin my Korean language journey 💗 This is the first time I heard someone has recommended using "slowly" for language learning, and its a really underrated resource.
thank you for this very helpful and funny vid ! your editing skills are great ! the video was very entertaining and you speak korean so well i'm jealous lol !! i hope your videos will get more views in the future, u truly deserve it, queen !
I'll see what I can do, I have a video coming out soon that kind of covers that? I'll see if I can make an actual video covering motivation to studying ^^👍
Hey Kelly❤ I found you channel through this video (as I looked up for how to study with htsk) and I'm absolutely loving your videos. You really motivate me to keep studying Korean. I have a doubt. In the vocabulary list, for each word, more phrases (common usages) sorta stuff is given (it's kinda a drop-down thing when you click the word translation). Do you study those too?
Ooh hi!! Glad you're enjoying my content ^^♡ Mm if a word is too vague or I dont know a situation when I'd use the word I look at the drop down stuff, or if it's a word that has two different words in korean I look to see what the difference is, but if it's a word like 방학 or 의사 I dont bother because it's pretty straightforward 😊👍
hello kelly i have question how i draw like that picture on your profile so can i know in wich app you drew it its so beautiful ,,,,btw im a new to watching your video and those are so benifit😊 we thankful for you❤
I knowww, I'm sorry I havent had time to upload life got really hectic for a little bit, I was moving, then it was one family emergency after another, it was just a lot working on getting videos done right now so I can spam post content to make up for my absence :') Thank you so much for your patience!!♡
Hi, I started learning Korean with how to study Korean and your video is very useful for me. But I can't find the memrise course link on their website. Maybe they deleted it?? 😢
Yeahhh I noticed that recently, to find the courses search them up on google for now: howtostudykorean.com unit 1 memorise and you should be able to find it that way, unfortunately they've taken down the links through the website and replaced it with their new app 😢
At what level do you recommend using the korean story books? I want to buy it but idk if it'll be useful for me atm since I'm only starting. -a question from your elder hahha
I'd say once you can read hangeul you can buy books! Of course buy beginner books, children's books if you can! If not you could watch Korean cartoons and read those subtitles!^^
If you can comfortably say you've memorized hangeul, I would move on to batchim (받침), it's the pronunciation rules for Korean consonants and they are extremely useful for having better pronunciation in the long run. After that, I would start learning some basic grammar structures such as time/place particles, to be, to be at a location, to have something, and, or, but, past/present tenses, etc! You can find all these in organized lists on howtostudykorean.com or talktomeinkorean.com for free! :)
Oh and dont forget to start building a vocabulary!! There are vocabulary lists in howtostudykorean.com with every list as well as many apps you could find for vocabulary as well ^^
I used Hilokal for speaking to instructors and people! It's an app, but Lingbe is good for practicing with other learners one on one or using Slowly for pen pal written exchange with others in your target language ^^
oooh thats a cool goal :o hmmm to pass topik 1? I'd definitely try to get at least halfway through unit 2 if not finish unit 2, also make sure you're using plenty of immersion with other sources like korean movies, podcasts, books, to enhance your vocabulary and comprehension. It'll also help you grasp the grammar and vocab you learn in context! :) as for how many you should do daily is up to you! you could stick with one a day or you could do two a day! some lessons are longer and more complicated than others so you might even want to take two days on those, one to learn the concept and the second to review and practice it, but some lessons are super easy and bie sized so you could probably double up on those. that's what i did anyway, good luck finding what works best for you! ^^
@@yur1iyynna lol no worries! And yes ttmik's lessons are free, there is paid content obviously but you should be fine with just the free lessons and enrichment using their RUclips channel ^^
Fluent in 2, Spanish and English, and seriously studying 3, Korean, Japanese, and Mandarin, I also like familiarizing myself with Italian and Bisaya ^^

Does howtostudykorean not have their memrise anymore?
They do still have Memrise courses for Units 1-3, I haven't gone past those so i dont know about the rest but i would assume so? 😊
Where can i find all these vocabulary please ??
howtostudykorean.com has the vocabulary lists in every lesson with the corresponding Memrise course linked at the bottom of every list! :D

Ofc! I recommend Lingbe, Hilokal, Korean Conversation Practice, Duolingo, Memrise, and LingoDeer ^^
