This really makes me want to swatch all of my lipsticks! This is exactly the type of content that makes me inspired and excited about my own collection and not want to go buy anything
Hannah I just want to say a couple of things: Thank you for reigniting the love I have for what I own already, for the love of color and for these wonderful swatch videos that just calm me.
Random but the titles of your videos always get me 🤣 My brain always reads them In your voice as they're so unique to you - so is the way you do your content and articulate your reviews - which is saying something considering how saturated the beauty community is nowdays ♥️
Lipsticks are one of the few products I will use up and repurchase - so will be one of the few things I buy this year as replacements are allowed. No buy still going strong... SEVENTEEN days and counting!!!
Me too! It's already been harder than I imagined? I have a little notebook of items I have been really tempted to purchase and then didn't because of my no buy. In theory I've already chosen not to spend... $565... That's insane.
Thank you for being a safe place to watch and not be bombarded with sales pitches on why I need the newest thing. I'm trying to be strong and follow through with my no buy this year because my collection has gotten out of control but I still love makeup and hearing people talk about it and your channel allows me to do that
Post declutter satisfaction is the best feeling. Recently I massively decluttered my makeup to the point it fits in one caboodle and one 12x8 basket for palettes and brushes. And every time I open that caboodle it's heart eyes all over the place because every single thing in there is so beautiful and special.
I hope you re-homed and donated those that can be donated. Many organizations will take them. Domestic violence shelters are wonderful and often take products.
Would LOVE to see u continue doing this with the rest of your makeup!!! Also, just wanted to say that you’ve inspired me to do a ~sort~ of no buy for makeup specifically for 2022, not necessarily because I have an overwhelming collection or am worried about my spending habits, but because I’m looking at the 10 lip products and the 5 shadow palettes that I have shortened my collection too and realized that I want to use up those 10 lip products this year before they go bad (since I had to declutter a number of expired ones a few months ago), I want to try to love and pan those 5 palettes before trying to spread that love thin to other products. Looking forward to it and thank u for the inspiration and your incredible content!
I dropped my Lisa Eldridge Velvet Myth lipstick. The bullet broke off at the base. I tried to repair it and was unsuccessful. I decided to keep it in a little glass pot and am using a brush to apply it. Funnily, I enjoy it more now. It is far less dramatic and much more every day as a light wash of color.
@@KirstyJonesLouise I almost did. I was watching a Lisa Eldridge tutorial and saw her take a brush and use what she said was Velvet Fawn as a cheek color--it was in an acrylic container. It was obviously the lip color that had not been put into the lipstick form. One of the benefits of being Lisa Eldridge obviously. I had an empty glass container from a trial size of an eye cream. I figured I didn't have anything to lose... :)
I have only 3 lipsticks (MAC russian red , charlotte tilbury pillowtalk, revlon kiss me coral) and that's all I really need as I'm more of a lipgloss person
I LOVED seeing the swatches under different lighting, especially because the warmer light replicates more daily lighting situations and gives a truer view of how the color looks on skin. Thanks for that!
I would love to see your single eyeshadows swatched out like this!! The ones that are in there own sort of compact maybe so it’s less overwhelming? Like vb, tom Ford etc.
This video makes me want to go through and reignite my love for my own lipstick collection. Thanks for always being an inspiration to love what I have.
The way I bought a Royal Scandal because of you! I love your relationship to your lipsticks. I have always felt a very tenuous relationship with mine. It’s like a category I pretend I don’t care about but very much do. I have always felt like I am very bad at pairing a lip with the rest of my look. Those reds are to die for!
Seeing your lipsticks swatched all together gave me a warm feeling of olive camaraderie - all of my lipsticks in their color categories look very very similar. Now I’m really eyeing A Royal Scandal as my first Gucci lipstick 👀✨
Hi Hannah! I loved this view of your lipstick collection. It's so interesting to me to see you talk in-depth about your favourites, the undertones, the different finishes. I'm definitely a lipstick novice, so watching someone who is an expert helps me to figure out my own favourites!! Thanks for the video! Love you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
So I just purchased my second of the Gucci Rouge de Beaute formula this weekend in Peggy Taupe and it has converted me to loving the grungy 90s milk chocolate lip, which this video is entirely validating! May not be the formula for you with the shiny finish, but it is so balmy and just sheer enough I feel safe applying without a mirror and the Gucci lipstick hype is real
I love your reasoning and decision making process for decluttering. I like that you place high importance on the human limitations of attention and time. There is no way we can enjoy the amount we currently have. It’s better to spend quality time with our most enjoyable possessions. I believe that this increases gratefulness which increases contentment and happiness.
a royal scandal has been on my wishlist for soooo long because it’s a color i gravitate towards, and it really compliments my complexion. thank you so much for this video.
Yes! This is exactly how my lipsticks are organised: a row each of Red, pink/coral, brown/nude. I only organised them like this a couple of weeks ago, but it has definitely made it easier for me to choose what I want and also encouraged me to wear a broader range of them. Really enjoyed your nail varnish!
This was my first introduction to the K. Weiss lipsticks! The formula looks so richly pigmented, I may have to add them to my 'to try - 2022' list! Thank you for another fun video; perfect compliment for my day of puttering around the house. Hugs to you, Joe, Sadie, et al! :)
A Royal Scandal looks absolutely gorgeous! I wish it was easier to find neutral or cooler toned browns at the drugstore. That's all I want to wear these days. So pretty! 💜💙💚
I would love to see a lip swatch video of all the colors, especially the reds because maybe on the lips they will seem more different or maybe more the same. I don't know but it would be interesting to see. I know the videos are hard on the lips and a daunting task but it would be fun as a viewer.
Hannah, you are such a gem. I love listening to you talk. That said, I know it would be an really big ask for you to do a lip swatch foe each of these in one video, but would you consider doing the one video per category? I am clamoring to see the Maybelline Gone Greige and the Revlon Mink on you. I have similar coloring. Currently I am on a no buy for 2022, but when I have used up my own beloved lip products, I would like to have a list of some new ones to try. Thank you for all of your content. Peace. ❤
thank you so much, Gretchen! I will keep this idea in mind for sure, but in the meantime, you can see the lipsticks on me by searching my channel. If you go to my video homepage (ruclips.net/user/HannahLouisePostonvideos) and click the magnifying glass underneath the channel banner, and then type in "Revlon Mink" for example, it will bring up all the videos that mention it, and some of them are sure to be ones in which I'm wearing it!
Orange-red lipstick is life! I have a warm olive skintone and a cool toned lip so it is my mission to find truly orange based red lipsticks - so many are pink when you sheer them out and this confirms my desire to get Lisa Eldridge Velvet Dragon :) My fave lipstick of all time (so far) is Linda Hallberg Orange-Red - it's a soft liquid lipstick formula that is ORANGE. As you would say, I live!
I love your overhead swatch/play/compare videos, I find them both relaxing & inspiring. I'd love to see this with your single eye shadows & of course, cream cheek products.
Eyeshadows next!!! This was great, Hannah. I feel inspired to declutter and keep what I truly love and want to wear. Abundance is overwhelming. Thank you!!
I love swatch videos - especially of lipsticks! I don't know that it would have been helpful for everyone, or that your lips would have held up (lol), but since we have the same coloring, I would've loved to have seen these on your face. I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for your lipstick in past & future videos. Especially for that Lorna Dune, it looks beautiful! Have you worn it on film recently?
Seeing Rum Raisin here is so weird, as the ones I had used back in the day were darker and plummier, which was perfect for my cool olive complexion. I actually found an older tube of that in my cold storage(unused and sealed), and compared it to a current tube of it, and it's so different. Beautiful, wearable both ways, but different. Trying to find a lot of the shades I wore(or tried to wear) is interesting, as many of them predate the internet(like Revlon Redhot Red-released in 1972, it's my Mothers signature lip, and heaven forbid her cold storage supply ever runs out), and are no longer made. It took a long time to understand why I cannot wear certain colours, and how to find shades I can wear. Now my collection is very slim, though full of pretty much the same few shades in different formulas. It's very interesting to see how you've curated your collection.
Laughing because I remember you reasoning out the Gucci Lipstick purchase, and glad the new Royal Scandal (timely!) is giving you joy! You were wearing that Lorna Doone one in the original video, and it looked awesome, but afraid it might not on me. In any case, my no buy year is off to a slow start as I was influenced to buy a Babaa. Not like me to do that, but my sweater life is now complete. 😬🤣🙏
Thank you, this was fun to watch! I would enjoy hearing sometime about how you have figured out what types of colors or styles of doing makeup work for you.
This is a wonderful video! I just realized how much I miss wearing my lipsticks. I wear a mask almost all day long nowdays and I am not a fan of wearing a lipstick underneath a mask :( so it's been forever since I felt like putting one of them on my lips except for some lipbalms as moisturizer. I should check on my collection to see if they are still okay to be used ;:(
Surprisingly, the only one I found myself SUPER eager to try is Raw Chocolate. And that certainly won't hurt my wallet too much, so win! Love your nail polish btw!
Raw chocolate has been a go to because of this channel to the point there the component broke. For some reason I really like just twisting lipstick up and down almost like a toy
Absolutely loved this video and I will be reviewing all of my lipsticks in a similar fashion. This seems like a great process to knowing one’s collection.
wish my lipstick collection was as curated like this! i always end up purchasing so much and in the same similar colours as well! lovely video, thank you Hannah
I laughed OUT LOUD when I saw your first set of swatches - nine EXACTLY the same color red/rust lipsticks. I bet if I divided mine by color, I would fine I had a type too! I'm definitely on a lipstick no buy! Oy.
I wish my collection was as curated as yours! I’m too far gone, but going forward, I definitely want to be more selective of what I add to my “collection”. I would love to see a similar video with your blushes!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video!! 😊 Not only do I really like lipstick swatching content, but you've encouraged me to play with my own collection and do some swatching as well. I'm going to shop my stash so to speak, and rediscover some of the shades I haven't worn in awhile, and maybe purge the ones that are just collecting dust and taking up space. I have such a hard time letting go of things, but honestly I know I'd be happier if I truly loved every shade I own, as opposed to holding onto a product just because it was expensive, for example. You always inspire me, Hannah. Thank you! ❤
An updated eyeshadow collection video would be cool. Watching your declutter I spent a silly amount of time rewinding go watch again and be in the loop. I was surprised highlighter got down to like, 2. So cheeks. I think some might enjoy a base collection video. This is generally the category that interest me the least, on any makeup channel, but I'm sure I'll watch anyway.
Speaking as someone with a hopeless unrequited love of red lipstick (and a husband who hates me in red lipstick), somehow I have ended up with 32 red lipsticks, so I laughed so hard when you said apparently you had a type!
Would love to see you try to wear the Finding Ferdinand pink lipstick. I think pinks can be very sophisticated and soft. This is just reminding me that I'm so over wearing masks. I want to wear lipstick again!
I am not a makeup lover but I am obsessed with lip products; wether it’s lipsticks, lip tints, lip balms, or lip glosses or even hybrids. Funny enough, while going through my collection, I also recently discovered that I tend to go for rusty reds, brick reds/orange, and burnt reds/orange lip shades 😅
This clearly points out something I often notice in declutter videos all the time: saving lots of makeup that’s very similar Bc it’s your favorite eg: color instead of holding onto a tight diverse edit resulting in lots of overlap/dupes. Nothing wrong with it! Everyone should have the makeup they want. Just something I notice.
Hey Hannah, I recently saw that Salt New York has a new concealer/foundation skin tint situation, and I immediately wanted to see you review it :) your reviews are *chefs kiss* 🤌
Brown is my favorite color for lipsticks! Anastasia came out with some new lipsticks and lip pencils, and they actually have some really interesting colors (especially the lip liners). I recommend going into a store and swatching them as the swatches online weren’t great when I last checked. I work at Ulta so I had a lot of fun playing with them when they first came in!
I’ll sometimes, while watching your videos, make note of something I want to try. During this video I made three notes of HOLY CATS THAT’S BEAUTIFUL colors and they happened to be all three Lisa Eldridge products you swatched. I can’t explain it other than the colors are nuanced in a way that just tickles my fancy.
Loooove! I am at a point where I loooove my lip collection and I am trying to be bolder and use the colour "agave" from the lip clays. Its the only one I never use. Have you seen "project apocalips" by kat? Why do lipsticks always get me??? What's the theory?
This was so enjoyable! Perfect end to my three day weekend. I will watch you swatch anything and talk about it. You always inspire me to enjoy what I already have. I did add Revlon Mink to my loves list at Ulta however. It wasn’t showing at Target just fyi if you want to switch the link for that lipstick.🥰
There was a recent video where I saw you wearing A Royal Scandal and I IMMEDIATELY purchased it when I saw it on your face. I have light olive skin and I too am just learning what looks good on me, guess what, it’s BROWN lipstick! Ugh I can’t wait to get this one in my grubby little hands, it’s in transit!! Anyway, I absolutely adore any video you do with overhead swatches, keep them coming 👍🏼💄
What is it about lipstick swatches that's so appealing? Anyway, enjoyed this vid Hannah. I think I'll so the same with my lipstick collection, and rekindle some love for certain lipsticks that I already own too.
Love de ysl orange lipstick, i really want a lipstick that look tan grungy rosty orange but my medium skin, looks More vibrant. P.d. i also love gone griege for a very warm toned girl but its pretty cool
BTW, I bought the Glossier untralip in Trench when it was released but after you reviewed it. I have now almost panned it, that is unheard of for me with lipstick. It's lived in my handbag all year, & has become my favorite lipstick. I have much cooler undertones, so a rosy-brown looks great on me.
I honestly think that 25 lipsticks is a good number. I'm wanting to expand the colours I have in my collection. I'm definitely a mauve person but I'm not sure how to go about doing this - I don't want to just buy random shades and hope they look good, and I don't think they are allowing lipstick swatching in store here at the moment. I think having both a nude and a brownish colour might be interesting.
I only have a handful , as I wear them down to the nub. I’m currently looking for hues that make my teeth look whiter and skin more tan . Love a glossier, CT, Bobbi brown , honest beauty , and a stable STILA matte ! Can u do a new blush vid like this? Congrats ( early ) on 60 k, we know in PDX, it’s prob hitting Valentine’s Day?? 🥰🥰
Oh goodness this also reminds me that I just love brown lipstick on me too! It never does me wrong, I never doubt that it looks good, it always matches, it wears off in a natural inobvious way, I’m always attracted to it, always makes me feel pretty…I mean, if that’s not love?!
There are 3 things I love to collect in this world and that’s books, perfume, and lip products so you know I had to watch this 😂 I need that dragon lipstick IMMEDIATELY
This reminds me I'm over due for a lip declutter. Some things are turning 3 this year and I think they need to go lol. I'm not a big lipstick person, but they're such an easy category to accidentally pick up too much. I collected a lot last year so I'm holding off buying new till I've gotten my money's worth!
I organize my products by color family. When i'm looking for a lipstick for example, i know that i'm looking for a nude pink, or a deep warm red, or whatever. Looking at my products by brand (although aesthetically pleasing stored that way) is useless and overwhelming, because i don't know offhand what lipsticks are what shades, especially the ones with tops that i can't see through. I found myself not even picking a lip product, or wearing the same one for weeks, because i couldn't handle the "search" every time. Now, selecting is much easier and quicker, and i use more of my products.
I liked reading your lipstick organization method. It makes logical sense and it's true that physically picking up different tubes to check which shade is so frustrating and time consuming. Yet, I still have a strong consciousness about which colors I have from which brand and I'm reluctant to interfere with that. This is especially true for MAC bullet lipsticks for some reason. Lipstick is my most essential and loved makeup category and to me the products have such strong "identities"-- shade, name, finish and brand combined--that storing together all of one brand offers its own benefits. Hard to decide!
Why is my favorite thing in the world the sound of you moving your makeup around in fast forward? 🤣🤣
I love it almost as much as the earring showcase sounds

Hannah: paints body in gorgeous lipsticks
Also Hannah: what happened? There’s lipstick everywhere 💄 😂
I may pick up Mink. What a lovely color.
I really love these videos, they are so relaxing and help with my anxiety.
I find that I use my Revlon lipsticks the most, because of how the top of the lid is clear and I can easily see what color they are
the evasive pop of pink!! assuming the formulas permits; a monochromatic wash on the cheeks with a heavier hand on the lips.
Lipstick swatches of your collection are my favorite to watch--thank you Hannah!!
I’d love to see your blushes and bronzers swatched! ❤️
raw chocolate is one of my favorites in my collection. such a beautiful shade
I really enjoyed this video. I’m not sure if you’ve done this with your foundations/concealers so that might be fun.
Love the lipstick holder. Such a great idea 💡
This is my favorite category lip products! I have a no buy since last year I did over splurge.
This was delightful!
I’ve got two lipsticks and they’re both red, only varying slightly in undertone. But I still enjoy watching your videos about your collection, lol!
Thank you so much for this!!! 🙏🏻 I immediately bought Gone Greige.
There are articles on what lipsticks look good on Olive skin tones
Thamk you so much for showing the swatches in different lighting 👍🏻
I organize my lipsticks by color family, too. Thanks for a great video!
😷🦠 I finally got covid and am at home isolating. What’s cheering me up right now? You are Hannah! Thank you. X✨
Gosh, I wish I could give you my Melt Cosmetics Laced lipstick. I can’t do those grungy browns or rusts. They look gorgeous on you.
Thank you for your recommendation of Bekah Sun’s channel. I am truly enjoying her content. She is a class act ❤️
I totally agree!
Although I enjoyed the video and all the colorful swatches, my eyes are drawn to your beautiful nails! 🙂
Just turned my mom onto Revlon's "mink"! Long live brown lipstick ✨🤎
Did you declutter the Rouje powder quad? If so, why?
I only have a handful , as I wear them down to the nub. I’m currently looking for hues that make my teeth look whiter and skin more tan . Love a glossier, CT, Bobbi brown , honest beauty , and a stable STILA matte ! Can u do a new blush vid like this? Congrats ( early ) on 60 k, we know in PDX, it’s prob hitting Valentine’s Day?? 🥰🥰
Gorgeous! We have very similar lipstick loves! I love your videos! Keep them coming!!! ❤
Do the gucci lipsticks have any noticeable scents?
Oh goodness this also reminds me that I just love brown lipstick on me too! It never does me wrong, I never doubt that it looks good, it always matches, it wears off in a natural inobvious way, I’m always attracted to it, always makes me feel pretty…I mean, if that’s not love?!
This is so funny! I went through my lipsticks recently and everything was mauvey brown, and LE's Velvet Ribbon lol
I am soooo going to do that when I get back home! (Traveling to Costa Rica right now)
Did you declutter your Tom Ford Wild Ginger lippie? You didn’t mention that one.
Kitten mischief is one of the greatest names I have seen for a lipstick!!!!!
( My tornado of a cat is named mischief 😺)
