Very disappointed to learn that your Theia radar detector will be taking a backseat to other products for the time being. I have been holding off on upgrading my existing detector to be able to purchase the product. Wishing you well on your business and hope you will be able to announce new products soon!
That's what they want. They don't want you buying another detector that's why they won't say where they are on the timeline. They never mentioned they were redesigning it all, as of three days ago all we knew was "part shortage"
It’s official, after being announced in late 2019, regardless of any prototypes, after 3.5 years of hiding behind “parts shortages” it sounds like it is just vaporware.
Or many manufacturers changed the game and it made it hard for everyone post 2020 times. It’s not just the 99 cent cheeseburger that’s never coming back.
9 months later and there's still an on going chip shortage. if you worked in tech or know anything about tech you'd know that. We won't see shortages end until 2025.
I'm a bit disappointed as well. That's great that you're expanding and everything but you should've told us this a while ago. We've been waiting patiently and waiting to upgrade our radars as others have said. I really hope it's not another 2+ years though. I mean, think of it from our perspective: "Radenso goes dark for 2+ years and now gives us an update that they're staying dark for an unknown amount of time but stay tuned please.." Overall Disappointed but please give more frequent updates.
Great to hear that progress has continued during that period of radio silence. Looking forward to the engineering updates and the eventual release of Theia.
Theia was like Gold! Sad to hear it will be just another project amongst others....in other words, not too important. Also, when the word 'government' came up, well, that killed it.
Thank God. FINALLY something being said. Radenso, i'm your biggest fan but don't ever not communicate for years like this again. It's bad business. Welcome back to the program and you made my week seeing this update.
Thanks for the update, and glad you're all still alive. Appreciate you coming out of the witness protection program to give us a short update. All the best with your businesses, and looking forward to Theia updates to come. Really want to detect those darn Redflex cameras. Cheers!
I can't help but notice you guys are only 1hr away from Xenia, OH. Will you have a booth at the Dayton Ham-vention this May? (The largest amateur radio convention in North America) Also, will said unspoken radar detector (or detector cubed) potentially be compatible with an iDatalink Maestro?
It seems the competition is catching up. Stinger released their S8-50 antenna and they claim it eliminates all the BSM falses by using artificial intelligence. Haven’t seen any real life testing yet but it sounds good so far.
Disappointing seeing that we have been waiting for years, I get you guys need money and those gov contracts probably are nice. But not doing any updates on Theia at all, even saying (hey itll be another 5 years) would be better then nothing. I probably wont buy a Theia when it comes out just because the hardware and tech will already be a few years old, some other company(s) will probably already have this tech. Best of luck to you guys!
@rRadenso - I'm just catching up on this but the GUI in one of your videos looked a lot like, perhaps identical to, the amateur radio open-source project 'Thetis' - an FPGA DDC transceiver platform. Is 'Theia' based on 'Thetis'?
This technology is already in wide use within the military Electronic Warfare realm. I wonder if they flew too close to the sun. The sun being ITAR, etc.
Lmao 🤣 🤣 🤣. Sounds like to me they found a much better way to make money. The government basically saw what this product was capable of, and its government first, like always with technology and advances in equipment for their uses.
Rally glad to see the update. Obviously nobody likes to over promise and underdeliver, but whenever you have some level of confidence, would love to see some form of guesstimate for retail availability, even if it's something as vague as year and half.
Radensi, Can you guys please upgrade your audio equipmment? I have the volume on max level on my phone and laptop and you guys sound very distant. Thank you.
I hope it's amazing when it finally releases. I'm done waiting. All this time, and this is all they have to say. I'm buying a V1G2 instead of letting them continue to string me along. "...then we're not going to talk about it for a long time." Yeah right
@@vibinwittheguys5787 I tried Highway Radar early on and found that I preferred JBV1, but I'm currently giving it another try. @@mujjuman Yeah, I was able to get one of the early G2's. Not early enough to experience the initial display problem, but early enough that it was all but unavailable for ordering.
Kinda sad, a lot of us wanted to believe Theia was more than vaporware and really rooted for it when others were being hyper negative. 3+years later and radio silence for over a year and nothing new. Bummer.
Wow.. I never thought of how the amateur radio scene could be improved by Theia. SDR is and has been the big thing for quite a few years now, and it sounds like Theia could be melded in. The big player is Flex Radio, as they have a great SDR platform... but also look to the other players like Icom and Yaesu. There has been a big problem with Ham radio for a long time, and that's noise, noise noise... With the ever growing list of electronics in the house, noise has become a big problem for operators. If Theia could be trained in such a way that it can drop the noise floor for operators that could be huge for a transceiver manufacturer. That is just one thought for SSB, but there are tons of modes in Ham radio besides just SSB.... You guys could change ham radio, and I think you will.
I just found out about Theia and watched all the other video on it. When this thing hits the radar detector market every other radar detector becomes obsolete. The equivalent between analog vs digital. Super impressed and I suspect it will be revolution to the police counter measures market. Started digging around on radar detectors because I got pulled over at night... couldn't see. Got off with a warning but the fact is if I had gotten a ticket it will raise your insurance for up to 2 years they can charge extra. This is coming from my company USAA. Good detector like theia well worth the price it will be I feel and lets you drive around with an extra set of eyes.
I was shopping for a new radar detector back in 2019 and saw the announcement on this. I didn't buy a new RD for TWO YEARS waiting for this thing. I still check back every couple of months only to find the 'latest news' is Radenso being made fun of by Turbo Encabulator nerds. This is so disappointing.
"Full transparency"... A year to make a 7 minute video... I'm going dark on the radar detector. When you produced the Theia presentation, I warned you of overselling it. Guess I'm psychic. I don't think Theia is going to be mass produced anytime soon. The Korean semiconductor manufacturer was bought by Uniden. This is the reason Radenso could not get the parts for Theia.

IF I had to guess Radenso will be requiring a direct connection to your smart phone, IE AI. Theia hardware will do what most radar detectors due however in my opinion, will require a phone app to use the AI portion of it. Also I could imagine a free AI version with limited access than unlimited access for about 20 dollars a month. This seems to be the go to price for AI companies
After 3+ years, its dissappointing (but not surprising) that all you have to offer is more hope and more hype and no actual Theia product. Your videos and statements made astounding and revolutionary claims. However, when people challenged your claims, you came out hostile. Many now think of "Radenso" and "Vaporware" as essentially synonomus.
