Their individuality is the stuff that shines through, highly original, a little misunderstood but clearly Brilliant. Few will ever emulate this prestige.
Il cantante più talentuoso dell'epoca moderna, purtroppo se ne è andato troppo presto. Un concerto trascinante, ma come facevano gli spettatori a starsene cosi' fermi?
"Breakfast" is perfect. "Club Country" is awful. The others are nondescript. The voice is certainly strong, but shines only on slower numbers - the faster the tempo, the duller the performance. And, sadly, only highlights how much they depended on the studio sound and production.
By their very nature and extraordinary ambition, quite a bit of Thee Associates repertoire is not suited particularly for live performance. Could you imagine a perfect live rendition of the studio version of.....Alive and Kicking In The Country Club You Dick Head?
@@rolandparr252 First of all let me assure you that between the two of us it is most certainly not me who's a Dick Head. Please have as little hesitation about it as possible, thank you. Secondly, if the song cannot be recreated live then why play it at all? It is a studio creation not suited to live environment, that's all. You must understand and respect it. Thirdly, if you still want to play that particular song then create a special arrangement for live performances, so you won't crap on yourself and a song you're trying to play, and won't push people away. Though I know quite a bit about Mr McKenzie to understand he has never been organized enough to do things properly, and with nobody around to guide him (and not allowing anyone to do that) he did what he did and predictably ended up the way he ended up.
Gone but never forgotten. One of the best singers ever. Thank you for sharing.
