Another great reaction! You should react to the live version from the Specters tour in ‘77 if memory serves (even if you don’t air the video of the band) or at least the live version from “Some Enchanted Evening.” The drummer, Al Bouchard, gives a clinic on changing up fills, use of dynamic change and change in tempo. Balances brilliantly with Buck’s masterful guitar, Allen’s keys and Joe Bouchard’s bass! Eric delivers an exceptional live vocal too. The BÖC is one of the greatest rock bands of all time! 🎉
@@jamesmarshall4364 I think think the extended live versions in many of there songs are better and I don't think that there is a whole lot of studio quality loss when they play live. I literally just got through watching them playing live from 3 years ago and it's still nice and clean. They sound like they are supposed to sound when just playing regular renditions of songs but then you listen to their 4th album and the extended versions are fantastic.
This song could rival Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven if it gotten air play and better promoting but it didn’t unfortunately. A really underrated song and band.
You need to listen to the live album 'Some Enchanted Evening'. The crown of the album is this song, clear and much much higher energy. This is a band that must be heard live. I saw them on the SEE tour, incredible.
This is the classic version that Metallica covered. It's great of course but the live versions have the magic outro solos making this one of the great live songs in rock history. The two live videos from Maryland '76 and '78 or the Some Enchanted Evening album version are all great. The live video from Paris '2023 has a great version.
I actually prefer the "Imaginos" version better. That one has the lead vocal handled by Buck Dharma, as opposed to Eric Bloom on this version. Also, it has a faster, more rock tempo. You should give that a listen.
If you want to hear a great guitar solo check out the live version of Then Came The Last Days Of May from the On Your Feet Or On Your Knees-Blue Oyster Cult album. The whole band shines on that song!
YES CHOD AND THAT'S CALLED DEEP OR HIDDEN TRACKS, NO QUESTION ON THAT, ALWAYS DEEP TRACKS WITH EACH GREAT ROCK BAND! 💯😊I SEE THAT YOU DID 'BUCK'S BOOGIE' VERYYYYY COOL, FYYYYRRRRR ( BUCK DHARMA )
Metallica liked this one so much, they did a cover of it. BOC is always better live! Check out the live version from Some Enchanted Evening!! So much better!!
7:39 You need to go back and re watch the reaction you did to the live in concert version of Astronomy a few years ago so you can watch yourself watching Albert and Buck in one frame.
Astronomy is definitely one of their best songs. You should listen to the live version from the Some Enchanted Evening album. Buck's guitar solo is insane.
I never get tired of Astronomy.
Same here, @bocswu!
I've been listening to them since 1976
That whole album is superb! And they always have musical ear candy.
'Secret Treaties' is their best album, though I could live with never hearing 'Cagey Cretins' again.
Agree, this is a top tier song. Vocally and musically this is on another level.

The 76 version to me has the better solo, but the 77 version is much better quality
BOC's I Love The Night is a must hear song! Even if you don't react to it, you owe it to yourself to heat it. You're welome! 😀
That was beautiful
This is one of the bands that are probably better live than they are in studio. Music is always clean and clear.
Which is crazy, because the studio stuff is serene

HEY CHOD! 😊OPENING SONG ON THE ALBUM IS ( CAREER OF EVIL ) 👍( DOMINANCE AND SUBMISSION ) IS FYYYYRRRR ALSO CHOD!
I recommend BOC's I am the Storm. It's pretty cool.
B.O.C. should always be LIVE! Especially this one and Veteran of the Psycho Wars.
Need to do Veteran of the Psychic Wars live. One of the best guitar solos.
Sounds exactly like Iron Maiden
Good stuff

They recorded several versions of this song. IMO, the best is a live version from One Enchanted Evening.
If you want to hear a great guitar solo check out the live version of Then Came The Last Days Of May from the On Your Feet Or On Your Knees-Blue Oyster Cult album. The whole band shines on that song!

The best version is off their live album
Metallica liked this one so much, they did a cover of it. BOC is always better live! Check out the live version from Some Enchanted Evening!! So much better!!

Did you do godzilla by BOC yet
Please listen to Journey’s song Lay It Down with the one and only Steve Perry! The notes he hits on this song are crazy!
Avoid Metallica's crappy cover of this one.
