Incredibly hopeful and well done to everyone involved in this project. You can bet a dollar that this technology won't show up in the news any time soon.
Bad news, the new president is just the same. He already was the president for 8 years and his political party stayed 14 years in power. Corruption is in charge on Brazil, they don't care about anything else besides money and power. The international media was sensationalist about Brazil political, we are actually in deep sh1t for 4 years more. Maybe in 2026 the situation change. I'm from Brazil and can sure you, don't trust on everything that you saw on television because they have no idea of who is the new president elected.
Now that the dictator Bolsonaro is out of office, I really hope that Brazil will heal again and go after these horrible people who rape the Amazon! Naturally all over the planet we can use this to go after those who are doing harm. Well done folks!
I wonder how/if similar overarching could monitor/prevent/get the right people in jail for other things like, over fishing, poaching, general land disputes...
Great video!!! If people are made aware of where the beef they are buying, as an example, then they can choose not to buy it to send a message as a consumer that they don't want their consumption to fuel deforestation. This is one of the wonderful ways that technology and social media can do good in our world. 💗💗💗
Responsible use of natural resources is key and environmental crimes have to be dealt with seriously. The key aspect I did not see mentioned in this video is that Brazil, and the other countries with Amazon Forest, are sovereign nations and of course have the rights to explore their lands as they see fit. Major industrialized nations keep avoiding taking responsibility for their main role in global pollution and climate change. Yet these nations want to prevent Brazil and the other countries from exercising their rights to explore their lands under their own laws? If the Amazon is so important, why not have an international fund that will pay Brazil and other countries to keep the Amazon as is? The hypocrisy and bias is far too much...
That's not a bad idea but unfortunately I'm not king of america so I can't make that decision. I think the Amazonian rainforest is a place that can never be replaced and the whole world should care. I would hope that ensuing Brazilian governments would treasure it as the priceless natural resource that it is and also protected the Indigenous who live there.
Let's map all countries and not just Brazil. Europe and the United States should map their hypocritical deforestation.NGOs are interfering in our sovereignty with the excuse of concern for the environment
Satellites watching the bad guys out in the rural areas.. we need more of that.
lol bad and good guys. there are not such thing in politics

@@tarsisgama Sometimes we have to take action ourselves when government is unreliable, I trust most NGOs more
Maybe you can do something to contribute to grow the forest back?

@@hunterhq295 is not the president that will change this situation, unfortunately. But knowledge is the way.
Maravilhoso. Obrigado, e uma soluçao formidavel contra o desmatamento da Amazonia!

This is the coolest most badass use of maps
Should do the same for Congo Bassin Forest that is being wiped out by Chinese companies, even protected areas.
That can be improved with some drones inspecting the area, taking pictures of the people's faces.
What's going on with the map on 1:54 ? France is no longer part of the EU and Belarus is?

I pray we can save and protect the Amazon before it's too late.

If you live in Brazil why don't you treasure the rainforest? If that all goes it would be priceless loss to humanity.
I agree, Sweden has been given extra rights to clearcut because they're so good on environmental that they can be trusted, which is really weird
