Doric TV - Mike Gibb, play right ‘Forgotten Heroines of The North East’

Having been born and brought up in Aiberdein I never thought that I spoke Doric. Indeed it probably only dawned on me when, as a 17 year old, I was sent out with a director of the company (on temporary secondment to Aberdeen office) to meet a North East fermer and to act as an interpreter. The director came from Edinburgh! I believe it is essential that we all support the likes of the Doric Board and Doric TV in their efforts to keep the language alive and increase awareness of its roots as otherwise, we might find Doric becoming just another dead language.
