  • Hello, This is my take on making a table saw at home using what i have on hands.
    In this video I'll show you how to make a table saw using a circular saw.
    Only 2 power tools are required, A drill and a circular saw
    Table is made out of 3/4 inch MDF.

    You are a genius! Just so clever. Nowadays too many people call themselves DIY, but they have got workshops like a professional factory. I get so bored with their clips, I think anyone has so many fancy tools should have made something better. Therefore WELL DONE YOU! Down-to-earth, practical, I have learned from you. Thanks 😁😘

      You will find many Indians working this way, as we have very limited resources hence the focus is on creativity. We try to make use of whatever we have. The Indian word for this creativity is "Jugaad"

    I was a little worried about installing the blade after reading a couple of reviews. But it was amazingly easy. Took about 1 minute. Works great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c . Cuts easily and is perfect for pocket cuts I needed to make for replacing some old deck boards.

    That's exactly what I need, a table saw and a router table, all in one. I haven't and can't afford all those expensive tools. I haven't got rows of clamps hanging on a beautifully set out wall. I have to make do, just as you have. You are an inspiration to us less well off DIYers. More please.

      I once knew a guy who was a proper old school master carpenter, we had a large workshop (we were Set-Builders) close to his small workshop, amazingly he never had or would use electric tools of any sort, strickly hand tools only, even though my old boss offered to let him use our workshop while we out doing location work, he politely refused.
      Back then i could never understand why not, he made bureau's with hidden drawers etc, to me it made sense to use a table-saw if he had to make for example 10 drawers, all the sides and back of each drawer were the same height, so rip some lengths on a table-saw and then saw them to the sizes required easy, no he would handsaw and plane each piece from rough pieces of hardwoods.
      I think the reason why he wouldn't use any electric tool was because of his mind-set, he was a perfectionist and the bureau's he produced were masterpieces, breathtakingly so, he would take weeks or even months to complete a bureau, they were very expensive but in saying that he always had a long waiting list of people wanting to buy one.
      Just wanted to share my story about some one who was an inspiration to me.

      @@Mr.Grimsdale I liked your story about the old school cabinet maker guy. I've worked in a workshop where the boss man would rouse on me for using my own hand tools in favor of his fancy power and air tools. That said, if you're ripping down the grain, you'd be a fool to use anything other than a good table saw.

    • @Mr.Grimsdale
      @Mr.Grimsdale 2 года назад +1

      @@megafauna8374 Totally agree, i'm guessing he thought if he were to use just one electrical tool it would lead him on to then mass producing them, thus then the level of quality would drop. I'm in the middle of making one of those bureau's (hand tools only) recycling walnut wood from a 1878 broken old cabinet, as a surprise for my wife.

    • @megafauna8374
      @megafauna8374 2 года назад +1

      @@Mr.Grimsdale Cool...recycled walnut...that's a hard unforgiving timber mate. A tiny bit at a time yeah? I'm an Aussie. Our Tas and Vic oak/ash and gums are the same but different. Same deal, cut 'em best you can on a machine, rough em' out with a rasp and plane, working slow and fine, then spend the rest of your life sanding. 😀

    • @Mr.Grimsdale
      @Mr.Grimsdale 2 года назад

      @@megafauna8374 I'm making a desktop type bureau that will have 10 drawers, 2 of which will be hidden ones. I do have power tools but ihis will be handmade, i'm English (you can't win them all) so its my little side project, 15 x 15 x 15 inches (still old school) and will have it finished for xmas, thats if i'm not still sanding it in 10 years time. Have you got a project at the moment ?

    My Dear, you did an excellent video, no bragging about how clever you are or all the beautiful tools and shop that you have, just direct to the point, I also consider your excellent choice of materials because there's nothing straighter tham mdf (I live in Canada and the quality of the plywood that we have around is the worst). I also agree with you regarding how important is to reassure that all the boards and cuts are straight and square with a smooth flat surface.
    Many thanks for your demonstration

All other videos are made with expensive tools, nice woods, etc, even ball bearings, I saw one that had 3 cordless drills, one for the drill, one for the countersink drill and another one for the screws. We are here because we can´t afford to go shoping with a wish list, like an advert I saw "Leroy Merlin yo put the idieas, WE put the tools", OK, WHO puts the money?

    I have built several circular table saws over the years. I like to pick up the big old powerful Craftsmen saws from yard sales for $5 or $10 build them.
    I have one that I have been using for about 20 years now. Handy as all getout, as it is fairly small, just 18 inches by 18 inches and contained in a square wood box. It is light and I can carry it around the farm and run it off a big inverter I have hooked to my truck. Amazingly useful with fencing or building an outbuilding half a mile from electricity.
