Smart Guy is criminally underrated. Watching it on Disney+ right now brought me back to the good old days when kids and teenagers were actually great actors with good comedic timing. The messages were potent and the writing was timeless...It deserved at least 5 seasons

I’ve been watching the episodes of “Smart Guy” on Disney+. I enjoyed the show as a kid, but as an adult, I have a different appreciation for it, beyond entertainment.
The Black love and family dynamic showcased was beautiful. The whole cast was phenomenal and John Marshall Jones is definitely underrated as TV Dad. His performance as the patriarch of the Henderson household was brilliant.
I would love to see more shows like this during these times. We need and deserve them.
Yes! I so agree with your comment. I just finished watching all the 3 seasons on Disney+ too and there was soo many life lessons to be learned from the show and you could really relate. It was very funny to me. Also TJ father in the show is a lot like how my dad was with me as a kid. So i appreciate that they had a strong family dynamic in the show 😊

People sleep on Jason Weaver. He has really done well in this industry, regarding his business sense. His mother did a great job on being invested in his career.

I think what he said and what Omar said about it were both true. Thaj wanting his contract renewed mid season led to it but the network still would've dropped the show due to "change of direction" regardless and had not Thaj did what he did the show would've got canned eventually a year or two anyway.

Met Jason before and he's one of the nicest people you'll ever come across. Ran into him a second time and he actually called out my name and spoke. I was impressed that he actually remembered my name and how humble he is...great guy 👍
Essence Atkins was just on Marlon Wayans TV show and that got cancelled. They always get rid of the good shows but keep those dumb black reality shows going.
Unfortunately we watch those dumb reality shows. Not saying it isn't stack but face it if they can only keep one ( you know to not look as racist) they are going to keep the cash cow. So until we make quality shows the cash cow instead of reality shows we are stuck. And that's sad
