Also one thing for the privacy respecting users, they changed their ToS that they will collect and sell your data to third parties. There's no opting out of this option. If you're fine with that, great! If not, it's seriously a huge drawback as from the review it sounds pretty solid pair of headphones.
@@davidb9531That’s a pretty idiotic comment. Few people listen to their Bluetooth headphones for 30 hours so the demographic for that “feature” is tiny. If it even exists at all. Sending mine back. The lack of decent Sonos ecosystem integration is a deal killer. I don’t need another pair of okay Bluetooth headphones. Especially not at this price point. And the “hardshell case?” If you’re spending this much money because it comes with a $10 case you have way more money than you need. Really? A case? And it doesn’t even integrate with the ecosystem whence it derives? Um. Nope. Nope. I’ll stick with my Bose and wait until Gen 3 or 4
Sonos did a Q&A for the Ace and they said the “coming soon” features will be coming in early fall. Which is not very soon and extremely disappointing since many of us can’t use it with the beam or ray.
The Sonos ACE has got a static noise in the right earcup which was a deal breaker for me. During long phone calls with transparency mode on it became only worst. The product is not yet ready for the market and I don't know which halwith manager approved the product launch.
Thnx for your review. Can you tell me how wide and high the space for my ears is within the ear cups? Many say it’s relatively small and you have to fold your ears in them if they are a bit larger than average. I would really like to buy them although it seems a unfinished product by now. Being heavely invested in Sonos eco system, it’s a hard choice for this amount of money.
Approximately 2.25 inches tall by 1.5 inches wide. I have ears that are a little bigger than average and I definitely wish they had made the ear cups bigger. But otherwise they are great headphones.
For me Sonos Ace is soooo appealing and can improve QoL substantially. I have Xbox, Playstation, Apple TV and Nintendo Switch, all connected to my TV with Sonos Arc. And there’s no ultimate headphones choice to seamlessly listen from everything without buying separate pair of headphones for each device. My partner wants to sleep early or there’s a kid. I have to switch to headphones. OKAAAY. Nintendo Switch and Playstation? Supports usb-audio. But Xbox doesnt. Separate pair or wired to controller. I have airpods but with xbox and playstation audio delay is unplayable. Apple tv is good but something from local ssd connected to tv? Tv just decides to switch to sonos arc input anyway, even after connecting bluetooth headphones. Delay is all over the place, I need to own 4 pair of headphones and eject hdmi from sonos arc sometimes. But sonos ace makes it easy and delay-less (is this a word?) Well, it’s a shame app became horseshit and trust is nowhere to be found.
"Only with that AppleTV, not other inputs" is just not true. The AppleTV support eARC and can transmit sound from other sources. That's how I use a pair of HomePods as my home theater setup.
But if you’re not using the Apple TV even though the HomePods are generating the sound you can’t use the AirPods or max but you can with the Sonos I think that’s what he means.
So we need iOS for audio swap and Android for lossless audio? It seems they released it months and months to early? I guess waiting for that time it’s really finished including better Sonos integration and Audio swap & Lossless audio through both iOs and Android.
Love my Ace! Way better package than my QC Ultra or even B&W Px7S2. Sound and ANC, comfort and material, button layout, USB-C audio + charging the same time and if that is not enough, additional features for Sonos user like TV swap. Worth every penny.
I've paid last week for my Bose QC Ultra 297 Euro gross at a Mediamarkt in Germany. The Sonos ACE costs gross 500 Euro. Given the much higher price the Sonos HAS to offer a much higher value. Personally I sent my Sonos ACE back after a week of testing because there was a static noise in the right earcup especially while the transparency mode was switched on.
@@KarolyKrausz Paid 425 for my Bose when they were released last october. And now 425 for my Ace. Selling my QC Ultra now, only thing they can do better, is folding.
@@oisin_o_boyle if you're OK with the static noise in the right earcup, then indeed the Sonos offers a better quality. The transparency mode + ergonomics + wear sensor reliability + call quality in a noisy environment are definitely much better in the Sonos ACE! Up until now, I´ve found/tested only two headphones that offer a complete package without major mistakes: B&W PX8 and Focal Bathys. For ultra high quality sound I kept my Focal Bathys and sold my PX8. For business journeys I still use my old Bose NC700. It still offers the best package in my view.
I have a lot of Sonos products and Apple, I use the air pods pro 2 with my Apple TV when not using Arc sub and rears and the process is seamless, the Spatial Audio is amazing, I would be curious to see how the Dolby Atmos is on the Ace. I think for plane rides having a headset for the stronger anc would be ideal. Unless I find a good deal on ace I will wait for next version of max. I like the controls on Ace more than Sony, Bose comfort is close alternative with maybe best anc for plane and controls work well
Thanks for the review! Have been considering these even with the lack of integration, kinda solely from brand recognition/future integration. Moved to an apt building with very thin walls, so looking for quality headphones for music & tv (but the sonos soundbars don’t fit for me right now). I have a couple $80 range headphones from college/gifts, but they are a little flimsy/uncomfortable and I might be ready for an upgrade. Might look for sales for the alternatives you mentioned, but I’m glad it holds up to other headphones in the price range!
Thank you for the video - for watching movies and tv shows, is the Sonos Ace with tv audio swap better than AirPods Pro? And when playing PS5, is Sonos Ace better than a Sony Pulse Elite?
In my country atm I can get the Bose for $220 cheaper plus they use simple sync with there soundbar. But I like the look of these and will probably buy a pair when I buy an arc and they come down in price a bit

The lack of integration with the Sonos ecosystem is truly mindblowing.
Agreed. Feels basically like a standalone pair of headphones if not for it being in the Sonos App.
which is why i returned mine to best buy
Maybe you guys can specifically design a battery big enough for WiFi streaming on headphones rather than just moaning about it

Why is no one mentioning the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless as a great alternative?
Sonos gave me a 15% anniversary discount, came out around $400 with 🎉free shipping. I didnt want to pass on the deal so i bought it.
What headset stand that is in your video????
Just saw Sonos added Ray soundbar to Ace. That price is steep for the Ace, maybe wait till price drops. Currently I use shokz for Bluetooth.

Can you do an updated version of the Crunchyroll video?

You’re better off with a AppleTV and AirPods for that instead.
Got them for father's day. Was so shocked my wife got them for me cause I knew what the price of them was. Freakin love them!

Was going to get these, but decided to wait for Airpod Max 2, which will hopefully have some more improvements as well as a usb-c port
great and informative review
