- Rich was in the pits at the @uci_mtbworldseries Cross Country World Cup in Nové Město, and managed to get his hands on Tom Pidcock's race-winning Pinarello Dogma XC! He's joined by Rune, one of the Ineos Grenadiers team mechanics, to run through this special, pre-production, Olympic Gold-themed bike.
Rider Info: At 1.7m (5ft 7in) tall, Tom rides a size Small frame. With Tom being used to turning some hard gearing on his road bike, he also runs a comparatively large chainring (38t for XCC racing!) with a smaller range cassette (45-10t) than some riders prefer to use. He had a lot of freedom to choose the parts he wanted for this build, which ended up with him using some interesting components such as the Vertical Helium dropper post.
Frame: Pinarello Dogma XC, Size Small
Fork: SR Suntour 34 Axon Prototype, 100mm or 120mm
Shock: SR Suntour Edge Prototype, 90mm or 100mm
Wheelset: Princeton CarbonWorks P1 Race Technologies Prototype
Tyres: Continental Race King 29x2.2" (1.1-1.4bar/16-20psi)
Tyre Inserts: Tom runs inserts, but hasn't decided on a brand yet
Brakes: Shimano XTR M9100 & M9110
Rotors: Shimano XTR RT-MT900, 160mm
Handlebar & Stem: Most Prototype One-Piece Bar & Stem
Grips: ESI Racer’s Edge
Seatpost: Vertical Helium Dropper, 90mm Travel
Saddle: Fizik Antares R1
Shifters: Shimano XTR SL-M9100
Rear Mech: Shimano XTR RD-M9100
Chainset: Shimano XTR FC-M9100 - XCC: 38t, XCO: 34t
Chain: Shimano XTR CN-M9100
Cassette: Shimano XTR CS-M9100, 10-45t
Pedals: Shimano XTR PD-M9100 XC
Powermeter: SRM
Bike weight: 10.4-10.5kg
Finishing touches: If you like this colour, you're going to need to put in some work to get hold of it - specifically, winning an Olympic gold medal! Tom's bike is decked out in prototype parts including the electronic control units on his SR Suntour suspension and those amazing-looking Princeton wheels. We're looking forward to seeing the production versions in the future.

Aside from this "road" brand bike. I think the most impressive is the 2nd place bike. The Rockrider one.
Should give it a time for bike check.
In other way to say it -> Decathlon bike got second place in a world cup...so a Decathlon bike is as good as Scott etc :D
Agree! I would love to learn more about the Ford Decathlon bikes
8 months later and we still don’t have much details about the Rockrider 940s
Nice bike i must say that, but i would chose the Decathlon bike over this one :) Do a review on that one please. That's what, we the regular people wanna see. Affordable bikes for the masses.
This bike is amazing! If i was an XC racer I would absolutely want Tom's bike.
Me too.
I would prefer Tom's legs 😅
@@lio220 He is a beast!
One of the nice looking bikes. ❤ impressive what pinarello delivered.
The winner. That's how Pinnarello should name that bike.
He'd win on any brand👍🇬🇧
What a bike ridden by a formidable rider.
So basically... frame not available to the public, suspension not available to the public and wheels not available to the public. And if you were able to "steal" it it only comes in small. Got it !
Just like every racecar in every motorsport, got it
🤣
The entire bike is tuned and fit for Tom. You would have to replace and adjust almost everything on that bike before you could even comfortably ride it lol
Prototypes used in competition should be available for sale within 12 months. UCI Article 1.3.006
stupid comment.... it would be like me crying about not being able to buy a Red Bull F1 racecar in 2023 spec......
The whole point is getting brand recognition in the races and using the tech to trinkle down to bikes they sell to public.
This Pinarello XC is an emotional relief to me, because now I know that I'm not the only one who rides a backdated MTB wreck.
Looks absolutely incredible!
I'm waiting for the Chinarello Dogma XC to come out.
Good for Pinarello. They developed a snazzy new fs MTB and hired a champion cyclist to represent it. I loved the company's road bikes over the years and this new mountain bike is so fast looking. Like a cheetah in full stride even while it's standing still.
Tom is a beast.
Rarely do we see a cyclist like Pidcock who dominates multiple disciplines in cycling.
Meanwhile a Decathlon bike on podium wasnt it?...I'd be very happy with one of these😂😂
Great to see that he uses Shimano for his choice of groupset.
It is a really good-looking bike with rocketship parts🔥 Really liked the way it looks! ❤
Sweet bike. Not that I would EVER be able to afford one, but that lower triangle prevents a second water bottle which would be a non-stater for myself and many others. Probably wouldn't be a great choice for marathon, but clearly Pinarello isn't fussed by that.
side by side mounts on the down tube are better anyway.
It may fit a second bottle with an L+ Frame 🧐
Electronic suspension lock out has been about for at least 15 years. I have an ex pro bike with it on, works from a Di2 part under the head tube and it’s plugged in to a usb to re charge it
In this video they show off the bike with normal tires. In competition he uses the RaceKing ProLtd version. Seen on pictures on the web..
The wheels are amazing, those would sweet to have on my setup
🔥🔥🔥
Nice looking bike i never will be able to afford.
Can you do a video on professional mountain bike fitting?? I always wonder if road bike "fitters" use the same formula for mountain bikes.
Hey check out RAD as a way to size MTBs.
Road fit doesn’t work as you’re fairly static on the bike as opposed to MTB where we’re constantly moving around.
I was worried about fit before buying and some light reading put my fears to rest. I’m happy so far.
@@tanyeehou RAD was originally designed for older geometry and doesn’t translate very well to the new longer, lower, and slacker.
@@HUKIT. Yup, RAD is for the old school hang off the back riding style, which still has some use in the XC world, but even XC bikes are going to the centered riding position as XC courses get more technical. On modern geo you're weight is centered over the BB and you're generally much more over the front for steering control.
Looking forward for SR SANTOUR FORKS 2024 MODEL TO BE AVAILABLE
Omg guys! It is the “Pinarello Dogma F XC” please correction needed. Why people keep forgetting the “F”
Nice bike 😊👍🏻👍🏻
Good video.
This thing will never be retailed..ever
What are the hubs?
What’s the travel?
how is the suspension adjusted? they didnt mention buttons or anything
The electronic control setup for Tom's bike is very much in the prototyping stage - SR Suntour are keeping details under wraps for now!
Sensors on shocks adjust so automatically lock out when needed
2.2 tyres. Even Vingegaard won TDF 23 on 24c. So much for wider tyre hype.
But travel is it a secret?
In another video someone said that the prototype was running 100mm front and 90mm rear. They didn't mention it in this GMBN tech video but the bike can have slightly different rear length of travel settings. The top mount for the rear shock can be adjusted to different places so that different shocks can be fitted. By adjusting the top mount it could also be used to alter the geometry so maybe they don't need to use something like a flip chip or similar.
The bike is used in two different setups - 90mm rear/100mm front, and 100mm rear/120mm front. It gives them a little bit of flexibility depending on the course they're racing.
Would prefer the supercaliber xtr
Up until now is still Love continental Raceking.
And hate maxxis.
Not many people are gonna admit that it's not a good looking bike. But I guess it's a Pinarello. 🤷🏾♂️
Hey he’s the Master Mechanic in this video below isn’t he? Love him and how he looks so masterful at his craft!
ruclips.net/video/tkKgUlp3JXE/видео.html
Yes, Rune Kristensen.
@@Auxar Thank you!
That was one uninformative bike check! At least talk about things that also matter on this effectively proto type bike: inserts? tire pressure? stem rise/drop. Zero info here really.
As mentioned in the video, Tom is using inserts but hasn't settled on a specific option yet. Tyre pressures are 1.1-1.4bar/16-20psi. It sounds like the team are trying out some different geometries for their bar/stem combos, so they weren't giving out specific details just yet, sorry!
what brand bikes do the losers ride!! haha
One bottle cage??? Hard pass
I must admit, this is exceptionally ugly bike. Quite sure a lot of research went on with this, that BB triangle, completely curved top tube and all, but man this is so ugly, and these colors are extremely ugly as well. Wondering about those Princeton wheels, they make some of the best in road cycling.
Incredible Rider ........ Bike is so ugly
suntour not fox, shimano not sram. Panis!
High-end Suntour is totally different than you think, it loses nothing to fox and Rockshox!
Exactly. High end suntour forks are a bomb. Whats wrong with shimano?😅
Good old fashioned cable gears
@@komoonkh shimano is a fraction of a second slower to shift than sram, and the shimano silver cassettes make the whole drivetrain look cheap , that’s what most people don’t like anyway about shimano - there stuff is good don’t get me wrong, but the silver cassette looks rubbish
such weird ugly bike, the shape just looks so dated with that kink in the top tube
your jealousy is unbecoming
Haha, oh snap you got me, read me like a book, I really want a humpback on my frame with short wheelbase and flat spots on the rims
