I have given as little as $50 for a HiPoint 9 that “wouldn’t work “. I took it home and my son dissembled and cleaned it. It had to have been carried in a side by side or ATV. It was full of dirt and dust. The brass ammo in it was actually green from corrosion. Now it goes bang every time and shoots more true than me! I can’t hate them, American designed, produced and sold to provide 2A rights to virtually anyone. I’m going to try the 10 as soon as I can find one. Thank you for your objectivity and honesty in your reviews and videos! God bless
I have one and very pleased with it. I have Smith and Wessons and a Walther, i was intrigued by Hi-Point, i like the looks and had friends that own them. I had been looking for a Hi-Point for awhile. Im a cheapskate and was looking for one under $100 I found a never used 10 year old C9 for an extremely good price ($109) I wanted the 45 but they sell out quickly and i wanted to have it in my hand before I bought it. I bought y JXP10 and am very pleased with it. I polished the trigger linkage and slide area, just like my C9.. Probably over oiled it, but its smooth and doesn't sound like a bad wheel bearing. A few not quite going into battery, but very smooth. Extremely accurate. It gets attention at the range. Especially when i put my target all the way back. Only problem I have had is an occasional broken spring. My C9 has worn the recoil spring and broke the outer firing pin spring.. The 10mm recoil spring broke after 800 rounds, was quickly taken care off and sent an updated extractor. Haven't been to the range due to a serious injury but use snap cap dummy rounds for it and it cycles just fine. I love the JXP 10 but my main range shooters are my Smith and Wesson model 64 and the Hi-Point C9. The 10mm will go with me to every range session once I am healed, but i probably will shoot 25-50 rounds per session. I slightly modified the Gen 1 Purple/Pink camo grips to fit the JXP to match my C9. My Hi-Points do generally get lots of attention at the range and when they just run a lot of questions about them. I have turned into a Hi-Point Fanboy
As a former Firearms Salesman, I have sold bundles of Hi Points. Their greatest feature is their Customer Service. I had a guy bring me a Hi Point, in pieces in a baggy. I wasn't even the gun's problem, it was an ammo issue. Hi Point sent him a new gun. No problem.
Thank you for doing a honest review on a hi point! Gets old listening to people bad mouth them it is what it is if you can do your part they will do theirs!
Great review loved it no bashing. Thank you. I have matching sets of .45 acp pistol and carbine and now have a matching set in 10mm. These are really fun to take to the range. 4 fun guns for less than 1000.00.
I just bought one at my favorite gunstore mainly out of curiosity. I'm a Deputy Sheriff and have all sorts of guns in various calibers and sizes. It handled pretty well for being a 10mm. I have no complaints. And I got it for under $200. Will I carry it off duty? No. But it makes an interesting range toy. Thanks for the great video! 😊👍
I'm a diehard Smith and Wesson fan. I bought a C9 for a experiment. I fell in love with it. It weighs close to my model 64 revolver and fits my hand very well. I bought the JXP 10 and i love it too. The 10 isn't my main shooter but nice to have. I treat my firearms the same. My Hi-Point have nice Flambeau hard cases and extra magazines. Accurate and fun.
It’s funny, but if you treat them like any other “real” gun (clean them, lube them, shoot good ammo in them) they work fine. All the hysterics you hear about them generally come from people who lack experience and don’t know how to take care and shoot the Hi-Points. But you know that! Roy
I fired 250Rds in one range Session... Blazer Brass....S&B and SIG V Crown JHPs...not one issue None!!...Pistol at 50ft very accurate was able to get consistent Head shots on Life Size Bin Laden Target shooting his right Eye out...this gun was well worth my money...She is a Keeper with My S&Ws and others!😊❤

Hi Tony! Thanks for your kind words. I think if you just keep in mind this is a “working” gun and not a safe queen, you’ll get along fine. There are always compromises but I’ve never found any of them on a Hi-Point not easy to learn to work with. Go get ‘em! Roy
I will def keep that in mind Sir!!! And after a put a few hundred to a thousand rounds through it I will prob dedicate it to one of my go bag and take it to the range once a month or so. Thanks again for your reply and a great review! Super informative, great job my man!

Good afternoon, Roy! I'm not a big fan of High Point, but something that inexpensive in my favorite caliber may find it's way to my gun safe. Thank you, sir!
That was a good honest review, I have expensive guns and I have Hi Point guns. I have 40 S&W carbine and pistol, 10mm carbine and pistol, 30 Super Carry carbine/Shield Plus combos, they are all accurate, reliable and fun. I was just basically curious about them and ended up getting a fleet of them. Unbiased objective evaluation is the sign of a true professional.
Thanks Chet. I’ve never understood the penchant for youtube reviewers to engage in the hysterics, when the simple truth is always more interesting. Roy
I just won the bid on GunBroker for a JXP10 to go with my C-9. I can't wait to get it to the range and try it out 😊. Thanks for the video and keep shooting 👍.

I just bought one of these. Mine only came with one 10-round magazine. But I like it it's really cool I haven't shot it yet but. I don't know what it is. I do like it
Hey Goof, thanks for your kind words. That watch is one I’ve had for about 20 years. It was a S&W branded watch given to me by them, and I honestly don’t know who made it for them. It’s titanium and very lightweight, which is why I like it. Roy
Nice pistol. 10mm is a perfect standard round. I'd shoot it more however the jxp 10mm doesn't have a fully supported chamber and the brass gets bulged. However it's very reliable.
It's the same mag for the carbine and the handgun. The current production rigid body 40$&w/10mm magss are interchangeable with their respective tools. Unless you have some of those old pre 10mm era Hi-Point 40s&w mags that were actually 45acp mags with an insert that you're trying to use.. I don't foresee any issues, and even then they would prolly still work, unless the springs are totally worn out.
Wow you just made me look like yesterday’s garbage the first time i fired mine it nearly broke my nose but i have done a few secret things to help me compensate for that one of those being no more 220 grn buffalo bore ammo lol😂
I’ll tell ya what, I have to agree. I have a 9mm I bought probably in 2010 that is a very accurate pistol. I bought an extra magazine and even a paddle holster for we eating around the property when doing yard work. It’s just too heavy lol Why do they make it so darn heavy Roy? Any insight from the people you know at Highpoint? That said, I’ve been thinking about the carbine in 10mm for fun Gene 🤠

a 10mm for 200 bucks... that's it, enough said. the only problem i had with my .40, was the mag release. every now and then, i'd hear my mag release and hit the ground. but i had a cheap padded holster like 20 years ago almost cause it was my firt handgun when i was 21. and i did have to use it as a club once... just had it in my pocket, and got rushed by a room full of guys. once i dug it out of my pocket, they backed the hell up.
they should really develop an exposed hammer all metal version with a better trigger and mag release. those are the only complaints i have with them, and if those were addressed they'd be as good or better than guns priced 2-3 times higher. and just an exposed hammer, single/double action would fix the trigger.
I’d tend to agree with you. But I do think the general market for these guns are the legions of “non-shooters” who just want a bedside gun, etc. and wouldn’t even understand what you’re talking about. But, I’ll bring it up wtih the maker for sure. I think it’s a swell idea. It’d require a pretty big re-design, but anything is possible. Roy
