Hi friends💗 thank you so much for watching and for your continuous support. I’m truly grateful to have this amazing community. What do you guys want to see next? 💗
Definitely gonna make a tofu sandwich with black salt at some point. Everything on that looked amazing. I'm so glad that you're enjoying your current fitness journey and that you and George get to train together for an event. How fun! I love your support cozy looking cardigan too.😂
Thank you so much! I swear that black salt takes it to the next level lol. I’m on a sandwich phase lately🤣 sourdough is so good! And thank you so much, I honestly had this cardigan for years, so I can’t remember where I got it from.
I love persimmons! We have a fuyu ree in our yard and we get dozens. I preserve half of them. I chop up into chunks and freeze in silicon gallon ziplocks. I also slice thinly with a mandoline and then dehydrate till very dry and store in wide mouth mason jars. They are delicious added to soy yogurt, granola, oats, granola.
Oh wow! 🤩 thank you so much for sharing this tip. I’m going to do that😆 I have a big 9 tray dehydrator. I’m going to dust it off. Thank you so much. What a great tip!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Just wanted to say I bought your book last week and Love Love Love all the recipes so far. Your meals have me staying full for longer and recipes are simple and quick to whip together, which is something I need now. Thank you for sharing all of your yummy recipes ❤
So excited for you for the event! Looking forward to seeing the training and maybe some food videos if you bump up your macros to support the training.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your videos! Question: What are your most "inspirational/favorite" cookbooks that you refer to daily? Many thanks!! Merry Merry to you and yours!!
Thank you so much! My all-time favorite vegan cookbooks are definitely the Thug Kitchen books. They’re packed with easy, healthy recipes, and I love their unique and entertaining writing style!
Hi Natalie! You’re so great at what you do. I always enjoy your videos. Thank you for making the easy tofu sandwich. I’d love to see more quick and easy meals like that, which are still high protein.
Thanks Natalie! Love the content! I've been a bikini competitor for the last 10 years and I think this will be my last season! What advice do you have for bodybuilders who still love to lift, but are not into stepping on stage! I should also mention I'm 60 - so lots of running/cardio don't quite mix with menopause. Let me know your thoughts! ❣
You got this! If you love it, keep doing it 🙌🏽 remember: you don’t need a stage to be a bodybuilder 💗 I still love very much bodybuilding, and I still do it. I just don’t plan to take it to the extremes💗
@@NatalieMatthewsFitVeganChef I remember the defrost tip from your first Creami video, and I always do that. Also, if you are a pumpkin spice fan, I highly recommend making a pumpkin spice Creami using canned pumpkin instead of banana and adding some pumpkin pie spice. Sometimes I add a tablespoon or two of hemp hearts or a few cashews in the blend to up the creaminess!
As always, INCREDIBLE!! Thank you for sharing. Your journey has really helped me to simplify and understand my goals. I want to do hyrox- I watched your last hyrox vid (so good so helpful!) & am a previous vfit girlie. Just your basic fan girl who is so so grateful to you and your content. Can’t wait to hear about you & George hyrox experience!!!
Thank you so much, girlie! I hope you’re doing amazing. You CAN do it 🙌🏽 you’re so fit! 💪🏽💗 I remember you do CrossFit, which is fantastic cross-training for this kind of event. If running feels like a weak spot, I’d recommend focusing on that, since it’s essentially a running-based obstacle race. 💪🏽🏃🏽♀️
Thank you for your content! I’m always curious the reason for choosing the vegan lifestyle. Is it for animal rights, religious reasons, or something else. Maybe you have a video about your personal self. Would love to know you better. Happy new year!
Persimmons are AMAAAAZING!! Also, great to see Badass Vegan's cameo. Side note, Natalie: how long are your zone two sessions for? Thanks for the video!
It depends on the type of activity and the goal. For running, I aim for at least 45 minutes in Zone 2. Most of my Zone 2 sessions are on the bike, and those tend to be longer, as this is part of my current aerobic build phase 💪🏽. I also have three other running sessions each week, but those are not at Zone 2. During this time, I’ve scaled back my strength sessions slightly but still do enough to maintain my muscle mass. My strength is solid, but cardio is my weakness, so I’m focusing on that right now. I’ve found this approach allows me to recover faster between sessions.
Is that firm tofu inside of a hero bread? I eat tofu and i've never done that before. Tofu can be made into many different things. But mostly i just use it as quick protein with oatmeal or rice. House foods makes one of the best tasting firm tofus i've had. it's super moist which makes it perfect for mapo tofu.
I do the same thing in my Ninja Creami, but instead of collagen, I use high-protein tofu as the emulsifier. I blitz the crap out of all the ingredients in my Vitamix until smooth before freezing.
I tried a persimmon for the first time yesterday. After one bite the entire inside of my mouth felt like it had peach fuzz. The fruit tasted good, but I did not like the waxy feeling afterward. And I peeled it. What am I doing wrong? (It was not an allergy- it went away as soon as I washed my mouth with water.) Funny that you talked about persimmon in your video.
Yes, anyone who has tried a persimmon has probably had this experience. The trick is, they have to be riper than you think. They should actually be a little soft to the touch, like a ripe avocado. The unripe ones will dry your mouth out completely 😝
To gain weight, you need to be in a calorie surplus or a slight surplus. If your priority is gaining muscle, it's essential to ensure you're consuming enough protein and engaging in consistent weight training.
Yes and yes! I made this amazing pesto-like spread for my sandwich addiction, lol 😂. I sautéed about 200g of spinach and drained the excess water. Then, I processed a bunch of basil, garlic, salt, onion powder, and about 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast to make a “pesto”. I added the cooked spinach, the juice of one lemon, and 7g of agave to the mix and processed it all together. I eyeballed most of it.
@@NatalieMatthewsFitVeganChef ooo! Thank you for these very specific directions. I can't wait to try this. As someone who absolutely cannot make up a recipe or dish on my own, I'm in awe of your creative powers.
I make a homemade persimmon butter similar to apple butter for toast. Otherwise I just eat them like any other fruit cut up and with my protein pancakes
You can definitely get by with less protein depending on your goals. My goals are very specific, as you mentioned. I’m constantly pushing my muscles to their limits, so it’s crucial for me to focus on replenishing, recovering, and maintaining muscle mass. That’s why I consume this amount of protein, it aligns with my specific needs. For most people, aiming for 0.75 grams of protein per pound of lean body weight is usually sufficient.
