Note: If you have a pull out cupholder under the HVAC controls instead of an ashtray, there are 4 screws that need to be removed. 2 are on the front bottom of the cupholder frame and two are inside the cupholder frame near the back on the top. They are angled to make it possible to get a screwdriver on them.
You just saved me a nightmare and a headache. Was looking for a way to route my HAM Radio wiring through the dash and out the top speaker covering. Thank you!!
I don't know the guy who made this video, but it was so clear, well explained, and with such good camera angles, that never having done this before, and using a putty knife instead of the official tool kit, I did the complete "R&R" & was playing the radio and 3 CD's 25 minutes after starting the process. Thanks a BUNCH!
Very helpful! My satellite radio stopped working suddenly so I figured a loose connection, I was right, with the help of this video I had the radio out, connection fixed and everything back together in less than 30 minutes! Keep up the good work and informative videos!
Thank you very much. I had to remove my radio in my 2008 Tundra because it would not go off and was draining the battery. With your help it took my 10 minutes.
This video helped me twice. First, I was able to replace the aux port in probably 10 or 15 minutes which I was not expecting to be able to do. Then, since these aux ports are of questionable design (i.e. my new one broke already), I was able to use this video again to remove my receiver in 15 minutes. Hopefully I can figure out installing my new one now that I've got my dashboard all opened up
Your video is awesome! You made this stereo replacement job so easy! Couldn't have done it otherwise! Thank you so much! I so admire the people that take the time to help us out!
i know Im randomly asking but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost the password. I would love any help you can give me
@Justice Nasir Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
My stereo started to open ballance on the left and some times would just buzz on every Chanel. Got a used one at a bone yard for 25 buck . Works mint now. Good video
If you have a 08' and it does not have the center console. You have to remove the panel under the wheel, partially, to remove 1 screw that holds the left panel on. Also if you have the cup holder it has 2 screws holding it in place. Might be helpful to clarify what model they are working on and not just state 08-13. And yes he did remove that model just fine ! I guess you have a yota too!
videos been very helpful thank you... just got my replacement toyota/jbl cd changer A 51828 my disc/ aux selector button stopped working will stay only on Disc thus stopping my serius unit from working ( plugged into aux jack....) now seeing this vid i hope its not my jack thats bad too 😱
Thanks Guys your video is great. After watching I had the AUX jack out in 10 min.. I also watched the how to repair video which was helpful. However besides a bad solder joint I also had the guts coming out when you insert the pin jack into the port.
Excellent video. I bought an aux port connection for my ipod that connected to the rear of the cd player, and everything worked great. Thanks for the help.
Great video! I am really thankful I came across this. I’ve been thinking about upgrading my head unit and watched a few other videos, and honestly got a ltlle intimidated cause they were showing pulling out parts of the console and other things as well. I believe I can do this noe. Thank you so much!
Excellent. The back side of the clear window for the display on my radio becomes dusty as well as the display front surface. This helps me remove it safely. I can then pull the fascia of the radio and a little blast of canned clean again. Thank you,
Charles Stopczynski hi, I too have a dirty window back side, when you took radio out, how did you get the window off to clean the inside? Thanks in advance.
I’m about to take on this task. My stereo doesn’t work anymore. Question… where did you get those pry tools? I don’t want to damage the surrounding plastic pieces, thanks!
Do you happen to know of a way to remove just the clear panel over where the radio station readout is? Mine has a ton of dirt behind it, and I can’t even read my screen, but I can’t figure out how to clean behind it? Thank you so much! (2013 Toyota Tundra factory stereo just like the one on this video)
Awesome video, I agree with Mark Harding when he says that the producer should clarify which model he is working on. This guy also sounds like kill bill lol.
NICE! I came here because my son's drivers, right, vent louver next to the stereo is broken. I'm trying to determine if it's easier to remove the stereo, or the dash panel to fix. Looks like removing the stereo might allow for more access. Any opinion you can help me with?
I haven't found anyone show how to change out the air condition/heat/HVAC display so I assume this is the way. Just plug out and plug in to the new display?
I have a 2007 Tundra Crewmax and it won't accept a CD. Completely aggravating. I am the third owner and the man I purchased the truck from apparently never used the radio/CD player so I have no idea what is wrong with the CD player.
hello. when i turn on my truck. 2012 toyota tundra. The lighting on the dashboard on the stero i cant see it or push any buttons but i can change tru the sterring wheel. but like 30 minutes the lighting on the stero dash boad will turn on by it self. any ideas what i can do???
This is not the same setup as a 2012 Tundra. 2012 Tundra shifter is on the steering wheel. If you can give me some direction on that, that would be great
Any one have a recommendation for stereo replacement? Want navigation, Bluetooth capability. Doesn't look too bad, better than spending $250 for install... Not including hardware.

I'm glad you mentioned you used a putty knife... I wanted to use something I already had in the toolbox.

Just got a new to me 2010 tundra. This is perfect!

Thank you very much. I had to remove my radio in my 2008 Tundra because it would not go off and was draining the battery. With your help it took my 10 minutes.

Just what I needed to fix the Aux jack. Very easy procedure. Thanks for posting this.
One of the best instructions video I ever seen.

Couldn't have done it without ya! Thank you brother!
following your instructions I was able to remove and install the radio without any problems
Thanks a ton for this tutorial. Just installed a new audio/video/nav system in my 2007 Tundra and this video helped a lot!!

Same for mine. Did you ever figure it out. I can’t see my backup camera. Thanks
That really helped me out a lot! Thank you! Very clear and concise!
When you grab that “bottom pocket” and slide it out, I don’t have that. I’ve got some pull out cup holders right there. How do I get those out?
Awesome video, I agree with Mark Harding when he says that the producer should clarify which model he is working on. This guy also sounds like kill bill lol.

My 2010 Tundra has JBL Stereo. Does it have an external amplifier?
My AUX is bad too. Where do you buy that?
At 4:03, he states that it's a 2008 Tundra.
Thanx
very very helpful
thanks
This is not the way you take it apart. You missed 2 bolts and the panel under the steering wheel. Get it right!
I replaced my aux jack without ever touching the radio
hello brother
awesome! thanks!
