Do we need to add baking powder or baking soda? Because in description it is mentioned as baking soda but in video you mentioned as baking powder . Please advise.

Thankyou for this . Tried this out it turned out to be amazing . A small suggestion for people who are new to cooking - add very less salt if youre using salted amul butter and let the cookies be thick . I did a mistake and flattened it . Space out the cookies and dont keep too many together becoz they expand . Keep this in mind and it will be amazing . Enjoy :)

Sad but true.. there are some safety issues with induction cookers, I am told... please comment!
Also would it be unsafe to use the same pressure cooker for pressure cooking , after it has been heated many times without water?... Maybe using a kadhai ...an iron one... would be a safer option.
I'm very interested in the way you use an alternative to an oven!

  • @Rayis4444
    @Rayis4444 3 года назад +3

So I tried to find out on my own and I believe these are the correct measurements because they worked for me.
    1. 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp all purpose flour/ maida
    2. Slightly less than 2 TABLEspoons of oats flour (take 2 tablespoons and remove 3 pinches)
    3. 1/4 cup butter
    4. 13 1/2 TEAspoons ground/fine sugar
    5. 1/8 TEAspoon baking SODA (NOT POWDER)
    6. 1 pinch salt
    7. 2 TABLEspoons of milk
I also added the zest of half an orange along with 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and whisked them together nicely.
Took me a lot of time to bake them in my oven. This doesn't happen with my oven generally but they weren't cooked after 30 minutes.
I preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius (he maybe suggested 160) then reduced the heat to 150 degrees and baked for 5 minutes, then broke the cookie dough as suggested, then at 160 for 10 minutes and another 10 minutes at 180 degrees.
But they were still white in colour and cake like. So I baked them at 200 degrees C for another 15 minutes. Then they were cooked but not golden brown, so I baked them on the lower most rack with just lower rod heat on at 300 degrees for 5 minutes and then on the topmost rack with both rods on for another 5 minutes. (No fan)
But they were worth it. You can use this recipe as a base for adding anything other than chocolate chips. Trustworthy recipe 👌😍
    Taste was fantastic
    They were nice and crunchy
But I felt that it was too much time and investment for 8-9 cookies. Good for gifting or when you wish to treat yourself.
Edit- now after having them 2-3 of them I've realized that yes they have a buttery taste and have good ingredients but their texture is still heavy. I mean they're not light and crispy. They are a bit tough. It needs something to make the cookies lighter in texture.

I tried making it with ata but by mistake used baking powder as you said but it came out good n crunchy...I didn't keep it for 30 mins...20 mins were more than enough...it would have got burnt in 30 mins....thank you so much for the recipe.
