Yes but can you answer me if I can use Google camera with your lens? Or I must use your app? When will Pixel 4 case available? Will you also sell 'white' color Pixel 4 case too (similarly to Pixel 3)?
@@moment this is true. Too bad you didn't present both options in the video. I know these are basically sales videos, (very good ones at that) but sometimes the bias towards your products really shows.
The reason for the long 2-4 minute exposures is the tripod. When the phone is held absolutely still it turns on astrophotography mode which uses a longer exposure.
Moment dont get the credit they deserve for these camera test. From the music to every setting they put in that work great job. We missed the girl who you took that crazy behind the glass shot last time at the coffee shot. I think that tge best photo i have ever seen.
@@Gooddogeatssushi it's nice, love the camera but finding the battery life a bit disappointing, and charging could be faster. Overall glad I purchased and looking forward to getting some nice photos once the rain stops! 90H make this phone feels very smooth, fast, reliable so far. 👍🏻😉
Finally a good review on Pixel 4. It's so toxic to see people critcizing pixel 4 which in fact THEY CANNOT AFFORD IT that's why THEY ARE JUST BEING CRITICAL ABOUT IT. hurray moment!!
they actually being toxic because they are apple fanboy...they cannot accept that pixel 4xl is better than any apple product for this time being....not yet...i am also not yet selling my pixel 4xl eventough now i am also using iphone 12😄....for daily drivers and photo i am likely using p4xl..for videography i am using ip12....both is good....but p4xl giving more satisfaction when taking photos...
The pixel actually will not take 2 min shot when you hold in hand. The phone recognises no motion (on tripod) and chooses to take longer exposure pictures. Maybe a hands on comparison will be more accurate and real life.
Yeah, Night Sight + low light + NO motion -> astro mode. It does note on the screen when this happens, but you might miss it if using a BT shutter. (Also...it doesn't start taking pictures when you touch the shutter; it waits until the movement induced by pressing the shutter button stops, *then* starts collecting light.)
Wow. It looks amazing. There was one or two shots where I preferred the iPhones colour, but the pixel seemed to be getting sharper results with more image data. But that could all be software? The iPhones sensor seems pretty good, here’s hoping continues these rapid camera focused updates and improves night mode via update.
That is true if you have a DSLR, but for someone who doesn't have one but already has a cell phone(most do), I would say spending a little bit of money for moment lenses or other accessories is a great idea.
Can't actually get the astro shots on DSLR due to sky movement; you'd need to do post-processing. This vid does a bad job of really showing that off; cf. these pictures I took last night: imgur.com/a/xNhI2BB Also--i have a little "credit card tripod" that fits in my wallet, so :)
All you need is a good TRIPOD with a MOBILE MOUNT, you can achieve similar results on any mobile with a decent Camera... (anyways Google cam app api is available to most of the Android mobiles)
Really wish you guys would implement a low light mode on your app. I tend to just boost the ISO to 2000 and SS to 1/1. I’ve gotten some awesome pictures of the stars before. There’s another app I used call ProCamera and it has a low light mode which takes variable timed low light pictures but is kinda janky sometimes.
5:36 That picture was Dope💓 You can always trust true photographers to bring out the capabilities of a camera! rather than tech you tubers who just compare photos which are out of focus and tell that camera is not sharp enough! Duh! your skills are crap!
To reduce the exposure time you have to hold the phone by hand. If it's on a tripod it would automatically want to take the best pic possible so it will take longer.
I'm going to upgrade to a Pixel 4 from a Pixel 2 glad to see some real world examples of how nightsight worked. Will Moment be offering the Filmmaker case for the Pixel 4 would really love the slim line design?
all the phone reviews have been super critical of the pixel 4, even though it’s a great phone. crying about the non inclusion of a super wide even though people don’t use it that often. i feel like apple might’ve tipped some scales. but y’all really showed off the phone and camera here, great job ! also shoutout Kearns! just released his book as well! Super dope
Another RUclips channel says that iPhone 11 Pro is the new camera phone champion, but this video proves that Pixel still reigns supreme. Love the in-depth comparisons and reviews on cameras! Keep em’ going!
Note on Night Sight: Google explicitly says they use the natural hand movement to gather more detail in night exposures, and if it's tripod mounted they do a longer exposure instead. So handheld would actually likely be better and faster on Pixel than tripod-mounted, except for astrophotography.
@@joesipes9145 we're both right. 😉 In the published white paper, they say they use the Super Res Zoom algorithm for Night Sight on Pixel 3, and one could presume it's used on Pixel 4 as well since it's dependent on a faster processor. ai.googleblog.com/2018/11/night-sight-seeing-in-dark-on-pixel.html
Dudes, it's not random. It's the astrophotography mode kicking in. Also, it's not 2 minutes, it's 4 minutes. If you take the shot before astrophotography mode kicking in them you will get the regular night site shot.
Oh man you guys should try the astrophotography shots on a clear sky! I've got great Milky way shots with my pixel 4xl. Also look for the pixel camera mod from XDA forums, it's a copy of the camera app that lets you manually trigger astrophotography mode instead of waiting for the phone to pick it up.
If you have a pixel and want more control over the stock camera look for a gcam apk on xda. I used to use one with a full manual mode and options for the night sight like he was suggesting.
Hi! Comparing the iPhone 11 pro max, and the pixel 4's night sight shots.... Do you think that the pixel 4's obviously better quality photos is a result of software editing built into the phone? As I suspect that after some editing, the iPhone 11 pro max's night mode results could be edited to become on par with the pixel 4's.... what do you think?
Oh!! Very cool! Thanks for this video! I really like Google Pixel 4. But the picture quality of your blog is even cooler. Which camera are you shooting?
When the phone is stable, the astrophotography mode gets triggered...hence it takes upto two minutes to complete capturing If you click with the night sight using your hands it won't take much longer since it will detect slight shakiness. Try that and let me know if you found it useful.
