Top Top Video 😍 Well the plan this weekend gone was to go to South Wales and use the wonderful Brit stops book and just wing it for a couple nights. After watching your video on Thursday night I thought ooohh not been Yarksha for a bit and fancied a pitch and the ability to sit out and cook. Called Poplars Friday morning and got the last hard standing pitch right down the end of the site. Turned up at 1pm Friday and got home today at 3ish 😍😍 absolutely loved it. Dotted the train track and thought oh no but hardly even bothered with the noise and it stops later on so winner winner. Enjoyed the walk down to Sewerby village and the flooded steps down to the stoney beach. The ship was a book before hand scenario which we hadn’t so we shot off to the Martonian for a no booking in pint 😂 Then yesterday walking down to Bridlington and having a freezing dip in the sea. Walked my legs off and goosed. Spotted the resident celebs from your video on site but didn’t approach them as that would just be weird 🤣 Glad to be home but will be back. Thanks Colin and fam for the heads up on a lovely little site and a lovely little area 😍
Lovely to see you all out and about again. We're off this weekend in Gandhi (our T6.1) to stay in Ledbury, Herefordshire, our first proper away-from-home camping in the van. I bought my popup toilet tent last month, much to the amusement of my fellow campervan friend who said "make sure you don't leave the torch on if you use it at night, nobody wants to see your silhouette!". That's friends for you.
@@Yorkshirepoptopadventures Explanation for Gandhi: my initials and my wife’s initials, G & Y. Son said it looks like “GAY” so we started using G and Y, Gandy ... Gandhi . Our mascot, sitting in the dash cup holder of our green VW is Kermit, suitably attired with a blue face mask that Yolanda made during first lockdown. Both he and van get second glances. 👍🏻🐸
Cheers bud, we have missed it so much.... can't wait to get back on to the East Coast again.... Also looking forward to driving around the west coast of Scotland too :)
Another great video , you are a lovely family , glad to see you out and about again . You are so organised with the packing yet very chilled too , thanks for all your advice , we have a tailgate air awning , not used it yet !!! Too scared we will have a divorce 😂😂😂- off to Dolgellau (Wales) this weekend to cycle the Mawddach Trail can’t wait 👍👍take care all of you x
I spent the first few days of freedom stretching the legs of my camper twice to Dungeness - (you need to visit the only desert in the UK), and also took a day in Whitstable for something different. I had planned going to Ravenscar, or Whitby - but decided to hold off and get my van sorted out with some little extra's on the money saved from using diesel to trek up towards home from down here in the SE. Good to see you enjoying the new freedoms, and making the most of van life.
Forgot to add 🤦🏼♂️ Decent Fish and Chips at Whitstable, if you ever venture this far South - cooked in beef dripping (as they did when I lived in Whitby all those years ago), and they taste better for it. For those reading the comments - go to VC Jones if in the area. And no I am not on commission.
Thanks mate, its so lovely to be out and about, masks are still mandatory inside cafes and indoor venues but yes, it's lovely not to have it on constantly...
"Toilet tent" is good but I prefer "pop up pooper". Nice video. I have an air beam tent and recommend the air beams. Very easy to put up and surprisingly stable. The trade off is size when packed away. Also completely get what you mean about set up being one of the best bits. Was camping in 2019 pitching in the dark having a race with mates who had their own tent. At one point looked up to one of the best starry skies I've seen. Was only time it was clear all weekend but got some great waterfall pics at the end of the trip. Have a look at fforest fields in wales when you get chance. Really nice campsite, good facilities, pizza night, little shop and a little boating lake. Water break its neck nearby is worth a look as well.
Thats awesome mate, thanks for the heads up. I do love a good star filled sky... we had the same in the lakes about 10 years ago, couldn't believe how many you could see...
i was at the Martonian this weekend (live in Brid) absolutely rammed full, the trees that have been cut down are being replaced apparently, bloke who owns the house (Marton Hall, old boys school) owns a lot of the big caravan sites further down the coast from Brid. Friends of ours live in one of the houses opposite (behind you in shot). I deliver animal feed to the zoo at Sewerby Hall, the parrot says "hello" everytime i walk through the gate with a sack 40-50 times per delivery. Looks like you visit another friend of mine up at Fraisthorpe, they own the Cowshed cafe and the carpark on the cliff top. Bit of a small world around here lol.
Haha, my dad said that when he saw us packing it, I think its just a case of finding the right spot for your gear and giving it a place every time. We have actually thought about a camping pod as a trailer, somewhere Olivia could sleep when we are set up or simply just for storage... A future video in the making ;)
Hi, I just wanted to tell you how useful I'm finding your videos. I'm currently in the planning stages of buying a camper and your videos are just so informative. I too have a family and a Black Lab and one of the things we've been wondering is where the dog goes when you're travelling. Am I right in assuming he goes on the back seat, clipped to a seat belt point? thanks again, keep up the good work. Kind regards, Gary
Hey Gary thank you so much, we have a strap (I mention it in the video called "The Most Expensive Camp Site We Have Ever Stayed At" it has a loop and lead system that attaches to a solid part of the van that we attach him to while driving! :)
Hiya, love watching your videos. I am trying to make my mind up whether to go for a fiamma style awning or an awning rail for my Transit (awesome) Custom. Then watching your video did i notice your awning rail is actually underneath your pop top, this seems a great idea how practical is it ? Cheers Steve
Just bought a pop top last week, is there anywhere that will sell a little bit carpet, I want to make a shelf like yours and maybe one at the top of the back doors, mines a hatch back
How do you connect your awning to the van by C rail or magnetic rail? Got pop top but can't see how to put a c rail on with the hinges of top or the top getting trapped by the rail.
Hiya, we use a C Rail its attached just above where the pop top sits (so its covered by the pop top itself, not where the hinges are etc) I'll try get a video of the bar in a future upload so you can see what I mean :)
@@Yorkshirepoptopadventures Sorry for weird question, Just wondering - I Filled my T5.1 to the brim few days ago and eyes watered at £110 but maybes its just Swedish prices.

Great to see you all out and the parents. I think portable toilets sales will never have been as good as they are going to be this year.

"er... its not a watch so I dont know what I'm looking at that for" Proper nearly choked on my coffee lol

Great video as always. Thanks. We had a Kampa air awning when we had a caravan - it was quick and easy to set up on my own and take down again.

Get my new van in 5 weeks time, off to Woolacombe and cant wait to jump in the back with a nice cold beer or two
Done that drive out along the scenic route to Sewerby so many times, we have a caravan in the next site along that road! Small world :D
