So it's a curbside delivery and some customers have like half a mile long driveways and sometimes they have ruts or divots that can cause the machine to dip in and then the material could come sliding off and then potentially get damaged

@@philc2729 It's not his truck and he's very afraid to damage it. he's spoken about in other videos. A lot of long driveways have low branches, trees or get narrow with thick bushes for instance, those can damage the truck and the material. So he's afraid because he's exposed to two fronts of liability. One is the customer's property the other is the rental property. But I do think he'll get less aggravation directed at him when he just explains that a little more to the customers and not only to the viewers. In one of his other videos, he blamed his customer (which was an older woman) for him not being able to make his delivery to her house because her driveway was too narrow. He should know if he can drive his truck into these places or not before he actually does it. He just drives the truck wherever he wants then if it doesn’t work out, he blames the customer. It’s common sense that if you think the truck won’t fit, then you get out, walk the road or driveway you’re about to drive down, and make sure you can fit before actually driving on it, This guy doesn’t want to be bothered anytime a customer asks him a question or asks him to do something. Fourth and final nowadays try to go out your way for a customer and see if you don’t find yourself being sued for helping. @@Fox3-x3p If he was driving a 18 wheeler or heavily loaded vehicle and it was an asphalt driveway, yes it could have settled the ground and cracked the driveway. There is a reason how trucks get stuck on roads that collapse under old culverts that were filled in. It's also why residential roads have weight limits. Trucks can punch right through the road and end up in the sewer lines. The only thing you can do is buy a $20 can of flex seal and patch the crack. The customer has no way to prove damages incurred to warrant a total asphalt resurfacing on a 30, 40, 50 year old driveway, and if that is what they want, they are scammers.

You can’t drop the load onto the guys flatbed trailer because of liability. What the hell are you talking about, he is standing right there giving you permission, that voids all liability unless you do it in a unsafe manner. You planning on seeing how high you could get it ad dropping it onto the trailer. 1800 foot drive, yo0u ask if there was room to turn around with the tractor and trailer down there, from other video’s gravel scares you, I understand, but drive the truck down there and drop the load. To put it bluntly, the few video’s I have watched you, your not a pleasure to talk to and yo are almost egging the Dooley to refuse the loads. You said it plainly in a video, you don’t loose money from not delivering it, you might actually get paid twice as you usually deli o nearest yard ten com that yard back to original location. So you make more money from a customer refusing a load. The one we’re the guy asked you to look and see if you were able to get it through a gate before you unloaded because he couldn’t Ave the load out front. You were, ya, I will look at it when I get back there, ie, it’s on my forklift and I am looking at it. Then, when I can’t because there is a piece of gravel in the area, your forced to put load back on, strap, load forklift, secure, you get paid b the load or load and hourly. Sounds more load hourly, you milk stuff like that a lot.

@ Mark Wallace. Obviously you have no kind of business acumen, and obviously you've never driven a tractor trailer ever in your life or at least in a residential delivery capacity. #1 - why would he put himself in a situation where he could end up paying more for causing damage to something or getting stuck and having to pay $300 + dollars for a tow truck to pull him out, when the delivery itself isn't potentially paying that much? He's a contractor, it's his responsibility to foot the bill if those mistakes are made. Who goes in to business to lose money? #2 - Newsflash tractor trailers are not off road commercial vehicles and they perform horribly on top of gravel, dirt and grass. #3 - Most companies charge extra and potentially pay their contracted drivers extra for an inside delivery because of the risks and extra work involved. So he's just supposed skip over the fact that it's a "Curbside Delivery", WHICH THE CUSTOMER AGREED TO and did not want to pay extra for inside delivery service, and potentially cause damage to property or his truck and trailer to be stuck in a bad situation, "which again he's financially liable for," all in the name of customer service? No way in hell! At the end of the day customers and contractors will try to get over on you as much as they can to save a dollar, and they will be no where to be found if damage is made trying to go above and beyond what was agreed upon. Perhaps do some research before making assumptions on things your clearly ignorant about.

@@thomashoover209 Again, you have no idea what you're talking about. In the freight delivery world inside delivery doesn't mean inside of the house. That's what moving companies are for not delivery drivers. Inside of the driveway, inside of a garage, pretty much anything other than curbside is considered inside delivery. I still think your're missing the whole point about liability and what delivery method was contractually agreed upon which was a curbside delivery. Why should the driver assume all of the risks associated with potentially damaging someones property or his truck by doing something above and beyond his scope of service? Why can't the customer have their contractor onsite to move the material to where it needs to be staged?
I'm speaking as someone who does this all day every day. It's easy to throw shade on the delivery driver for covering their own ass, when you know good and well the customer would not go to bat for the driver for going above and beyond should they have their property damaged. You haul these home deliveries because you can’t get a job delivering to commercial or industrial sites that pay better. You wouldn’t last a week because a dock supervisor would tell you where to put your load and if you said “I can’t do that” he would refuse your load. Your shipper would get a new carrier so fast and you would be fired. You should try, just once, to say “yes sir, yes ma’am, I will make every effort to exceed your expectation”. Many homeowners have cash in there pocket to reward drivers or delivery people who are more than helpful. Thank you for the videos though. I will certainly ask first before having my lumber delivered by Safford

I've literally delivered to malls under construction and have had to tell multi million dollar general contractors that I couldn't get the load to where they wanted it. It happens even at industrial sites as well.
I'm curious if you have a CDL and have driven flatbed/specialized loads before or if you're just armchair quarterbacking this guy 🤔

First of all that's absolute Bullshit. Refusing a shipment of a potential necessary piece or part that could potentially slow down the progress on a commercial or industrial site will only be refused in extreme circumstances. If there is a skid steer or some sort of power lifting piece of machinery available, they will do any thing they can in order to get the freight off, in the event the truck driver does not feel safe driving on the site. It could end up costing the company completing the work if they don't stay on schedule. Been there done that. Saying yes sir or yes ma'am could potentially have you in court fighting for your business. All customers are not good customers!

Seems like you go into every delivery expecting to be negative.

Most stores give you choices for delivery, you have to pay extra for anything beyond curb side. Pay attention. He IS going above and beyond most of the time, don't like to watch then move on down the road to the next Karen freak out vid.
