- Control All Cutscenes Game Movie is the full story of the newly release game. It includes relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cinematics to try and stitch together a fluid cinematic experience.
We cut out most of the side mission stuff, and focused in on the main story. We hope you enjoy!
Jesse Faden arrives at the Oldest House, the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control, after receiving a telepathic calling from a paranatural being she refers to as "Polaris," which she shares a special connection with. Seeking the whereabouts of her brother Dylan, who was kidnapped by the Bureau seventeen years prior after an Altered World Event in their hometown of Ordinary, Jesse discovers that the Bureau's previous Director, Zachariah Trench, has apparently committed suicide. Taking his fallen sidearm, Jesse discovers it is an Object of Power - the Service Weapon - and is transported to the Astral Plane, where she completes a ritual and is selected as the new Director by the Board, a paranatural entity that guides the Bureau from the shadows. Jesse emerges from Trench's office and discovers that the Oldest House has been invaded by a hostile force known as the Hiss, which possesses the Bureau's agents and corrupts the building's shifting topography. Jesse uses an Object of Power known as the Hotline to listen to the lingering presence of Trench, who relays that his former management team knows the secrets of the Bureau, and Jesse hopes they may be able to tell her the whereabouts of Dylan.

Yea, it's the same developer. Although there are some similar elements like HRA (CFR), the Hiss (Stutter), and the combat system, the story is quite unique that I can overlook the overlaps.
I like quantum break, but they really messed up quantum break b/c of the final boss and everyone hated it.
@@trhyr8923 huh, they didnt mess a THING up, at least in my opinion... the final boss was OK, yeah you had to get used to his freakouts, and yes it was a bit tedious, bout you can easily beat it.

I love how Ahti keeps reading her mind whenever she contradicts him he answers her aloud and she NEVER speaks up about it.

Weirder things have happened... such as all of the O5 being wiped out except one... and the only reason that one wasn't was cause the one who did it sent him away before kill himself and the others. that one... being the only 'normal' member of the O5. like literally, just a random guy they picked up off the streets to determine if things were normal or not.

@@louisp8561 I do not remember. I know the story basically goes that once the old council had died a new council was brought in all except for the normal 05 guy. Which made the new council very suspicious of him. But honestly anything and most things SCP lore related are fluid. you can pick and choose cuz there are versions of the council where there are more normal people than just the one. Hell SCP has a whole multiverse.

I love whenever Jesse makes a sarcstic or witty comment in her head and we are just shown that scene(a small break in the flow of the game).

Some of the written reports of the anomalous objects exactly duplicate the formatting of SCP articles. They definitely based the FBC on the SCP Foundation.

My gamer mind is conflicted. I’m not sure if Jesse is a Chaotic Neutral. However she acts like a Neutral Evil.
On a side note, I’m getting massive SCP vibes.
It sure felt like I was watching a game about someone getting into the Foundation, especially after the fridge that kills people if you don't look at it and the fake credits.

holy shit, this reminds me of the SCP foundation, i can see so many inspirations here and there. if there is a sequel, lets hope their is a containment breach of more of these anomalys.

So.. The bad guys won? I mean, they literally got what they wanted in the end. And the hero is so focused on the present, that she can't see that she's caught in the maze.
Who are the bad guys? I mean the Bureau's dealings are steeped in a lot of creepy shit, but they're not using the Altered Objects or Objects of Power as an invasion vector, like the Hiss are doing with the Slide Projector.
@@Landis963 Allegedly. We aren't given enough evidence either way. However, we do know that they (The Bureau) took her brother and experimented on him in some fashion, which left him altered. I can't remember the specifics anymore but they kidnapped him, experimented on him, then locked him away. Was this all for the benefit of mankind? And how many others are there? Regardless, they started out as the antagonists and have now become her friends without any real resolution imho.
@@DarkNaifu You know what those "experiments" probably were? They probably tried imbuing him with a few powers like Jesse did with the TV et al., and it backfired horribly because they aren't really set up to provide a healthy growing environment for a child (to wit: _Threshold Kids_), so they needed to switch into containment mode when he snapped and launched an agent into a wall. He was intended to replace Director Trench, after all.
The bad guys lost, the good guys ( the board) were looking for Jesse for years, because they needed someone with her ESP abilities to lead the FBC. they tried to recruit both of them as children but only got Dylan. Dylan rejected his ESP and the hiss got into his head. Jesse thinks hers is the creature Hedron (she calls it Polaris) communicating with her. Really hedron showed her how to use her abilities.
@@DarkNaifu they took Dylan to make him director, they wanted Jesse too but she ran away. All the adults in town disappeared so the govt took custody of a 10 and 11 year old. The board wanted both of them because of their ESP
Jesse and Polaris reminds me of Jodie and Aiden from Beyond: Two Souls
True, but they're more like Danny and Tony from the shining. Did you catch Ahti shining at the beginning. " better than no face at all" Jesse was thinking about him being a friendly face and he heard her thoughts " how'd you like some ice cream Doc?"

This game is the perfect mixture of Remedy's best games: the noir style of Max Payne, the science fiction and visuals of Quantum Break, and a lot of elements of Alan Wake
the story starts out okay but could've been better executed, and the ending is fine, it just leaves a few unanswered questions, but so do most of Remedy's games
also, GLP missed several important information which would've better explained the plot
All in all, I think Remedy's still got it, I just wish they could make sequels to Quantum Break and Control, or better explain the story connection between their chief games
Wow, they really have improved alot on animations, the moving of the mouth that has always been really awkward has gotten really good. Didnt even know about this game until I caught one of the strimmers I follow playing it. Looks really amazing, nice play GLP.

Ahti reads her mind MORE THAN ONCE, and she doesn't say anything about it. I found that pretty weird.
I didn't notice it until my second playthrough
He does it when she's outside too. He stops mopping when she says everyones lying. Here knows who she is, why she's there, he lets her enter the lobby somehow during a lockdown, then shows her the elevator. And sends her in to meet the board
In a world where the Oldest House exists, the walls rearrange in their own from an extradimensional entity, and half of who is left is trying to kill her constantly.... and a mega powerful entity who is the closest thing to a friendly face she trusts is reading her mind is the least surprising thing.
@@Adanu191 yeah I don't know I'm more willing to just chalk it up to inconsistency in the storytelling. Doesn't matter, it's still an excellent game, and this is a very minor little niggle
@@fozzibab When I first realized it was happening on the first conversation, it comes across as her being distracted. Either it's an oversight, or Jesse just takes it in stride IC. Given her reactions to the whole place and her 'belief' in the 'supernatural' I tend to go with taking it in stride.
Plot-wise it is somewhat messy. The intentional vagueness of the background makes it harder to become invested in the central character, most side characters are just exposition dumps with little to no personality.
The plot feels in a way like "Lost" - they setup up a lot of interesting mysteries, and then don't give satisfying resolution to them.
Like (spoiler below)...
Are they implying that originally Jesse did not have a brother (or is it just a misdirection) ("the only child", "a copy of a copy of a copy" about Polaris, her taking about missing parts of herself to psychiatrist and having trouble remembering anything before the Event) ? That she was somehow triplicated during the Altered World event and got split into:
- Dylan, who becomes the Hiss avatar
- Polaris, the Hedron's avatar (and at the same time the personification of the player inside the game's universe)
- and Jesse herself is whatever remained
I have no idea , its like a SCP story with lovecraftian inspiration on the fact that you dont know shit

The Astral Plane reminds me a lot of the Void from Dishonored 2.

After careful analysis of everything, I believe the Director has become someone of a demi-god with all her powers. And she is the Director. But she is also the Janitor's Assistant. And the Janitor is imho more powerful than her. And he is also not wearing the gear that protects from the hiss, but he is fine. I think he is a god and the real MC that keeps the gateways stabilized or something.
The Director IS the Janitor's Assistant, or, that particular janitor's :D
This game makes me think about SCP Containment Facility with all these different objects of power, the mysteries of what they do and/or are capable of...mmm so intriguing. Very nice play through and vid mock up as well 🙂

i think its hard for anyone to say they conclusively understand the story, the outcome, they many whys and whats of the game.
universally im sure people agree the game was inspired by the SCP foundation, which in of itself is great, but that just it, to really know whats happening, you gotta do some reading, play the game, the effort to make a cutscene movie as you always do is amazing as always. but for anyone reading, if you want to understand more about everything in the game, play it, read the notes and articles.
just liek SCP, you need to read the containment files and addendums.

I think the narration bits are great, but there are other times when you don't need it in the dialogue and can see her emotions and behavior through it just fine or can display it through context and subtlety instead. It kind of ruins the immersion slightly and takes the focus off of the conversation itself and on only the main characters reactions instead, but the story seems overall fine still as an experience.
Ik this is super late but I thought she’s talking to Polaris whenever she narrates?

The SCP inspiration is palpable, but I really hate that they didn't use the setting to better use. Not to mention that there was no batshit anomoly that was uncontrollable by the Hiss. Hell, there aught to be things in there that scare the living shit out of the Hiss. Instead the Hiss just runs around collecting pokémon with astral monsters from beyond the colors of time just bend over and go "Ok".
They even ruined the fridge...
Also WHY IS SHE MONOTALKING all the godamn time? When she's infront of her brother, she literally says like two sentances, the rest is monologue from him and inner from her like holy shit woman just talk to the guy.

Honestly the game is good the gameplay combat and story are good but there are so many glitches and weird things that happened on my play through that I just quit it
What did you do, try to rush the whole thing? The fight is a grind. Just don't get impatient and you'll be fine.
:D 47 mins into the video and with games like this that makes the character seem mentally unstable make me worried that the ending is going to be the character in a strait jacket in a padded cell i dont like it when that happens cause it feels cheap
as someone who was so excited, I played through just over half the game and I couldn't play any more with all the other games out... It just seemed so bland.... I LOVED Quantum Break, I also loved Alan Wake. I don't think Control came close at all.

I hate how game creators feel that they need to make the storyline premise very complicated. Because it almost always end up having plot holes and illogical scenarios. Just focus on making the story engaging, meaningful, consistent from beginning to end. and it will be a master piece.

Why does it say 'all cutscenes' when there is gameplay footage in the video. Cutscenes means cinematics, not gameplay.
For story consistency. A lot of exposition takes place during gameplay, if they had cut it out completely nothing would make any sense since we would be losing a lot of scenes. And in this case, with so much internal monologue, yeah they had no choice but to include all that.
However... yeah, style over substance, themes over an actually good story. Mind fuckery for the sake of mind fuckery.
@@Dawnlighter Unfortunately this has turned into tendency in the past few years, but I am a fan of the oldschool 'all cutscenes' videos, where there is nothing else than cutscenes presented, but I get your point.
This just seems like a branch of the SCP foundation that deals with extra dimensional stuff.

I mean no offense but this seems incomplete, there was a lot more relevant gameplay especially by last three chapters. I was confused. I had to go elsewhere to fill the gaps.
