@@bogbastard4243Yes, if you play Mario games. But everyone seems to forget the Switch really is a handheld. That it's even holding this much ground against PS5 and XBox is pretty amazing.
I believe how well NieR Automata runs is proof the video game companies are lazy with ports. Plus The Switch is literally a handheld in spite of having TV connection. You got a $300 Switch vs $600 for a PS5 or Xbox.
@@bogbastard4243 There are games that run very well on the switch and still look good. Though I suspect those development teams put a lot of time into optimizing the game correctly.

I’ve never heard lians voice lines in either language before this video but honestly in my opinion I liked the English one from the clip you showed it didn’t come off as annoying as I thought you meant it would sound
I prefer the Japanese voice, but I see nothing wrong with her English characterization...
I've been eagerly anticipating this one for a while. I missed the Kickstarter, so I'm really glad it is getting a wide retail release.
I'm so excited to play tonight, I think you helped me decide to play with the japanese voices for the first playthrough. I'll probably do english on the second though.
I'm going to get this on the Switch, but I REALLY hate that many of these distributers outside the US like VGP are doing $10 mark ups on Switch games over PS5 and XB1. Yes, in general terms the value of Switch games holds better than its competitors on the third party market. But at retail at release, I genuinely believe that everything should be on an even keel and prices across the board should be uniform. $70 is already a big ask for a single game in today's market. But $80 is collector's edition territory. It's a lot to ask for just a game cart alone.
It's because the game is using a full 32GB cart. They are very expensive to produce.

Really regretted not backing this when it was being crowdfunded, just didn't have the money at the time but I wish I had. Pre-ordered it on GOG so I'm really chomping at the bit to dive in, Suikoden I and II are among my favourite JRPGs of all time, Murayama is one of the GOATs to me (and one of the more underrated among the JRPG legends).
Load times are 2 seconds or less entering a battle on PS5. 6-8 for switch and 3 or more after the battle. This is the thing that ruins it for me.

Your choice but take it from somebody who's played it on switch and it is complete garbage. Frame rate is absolutely terrible, the loading times are 6 to 7 seconds B4 each battle, and about 3-4 after the battle. It's unplayable imo. If you have a PS5 or PC get that. Trust me on this.
Looking forward to it but it's ordered together with Xuan Yuan Sword 7 (during PA's 3 for 100 sale) so I have to wait a little longer, which is fine, I haven't even played Rising yet. Hope the german translation is good.
I pre-ordered this for the PS5 by mistake but it looks like it was the right choice lol. Either way I'm excited for this game.
It works fine on a gaming laptop. I still bought the switch version my collection.
Kinda weird that the switch version is delayed a month after the PS5 version, but still looking forward to it.

Can only hope theres a day 1 patch for this game and fix the performance. But the switch version being almost 30gb in size and having terrible performance and bugs is very disheartening
Sounds like switch version was rushed due to the kickstarter issue.
I tried a couple of the Suikoden titles back in the day but could never get into them. The whole gimmick of recruiting massive amounts of characters was just annoying to me and so I ended up never finishing any of the games. Because of this I think I'll skip Eiyuden Chronicle, but I'm glad it came out for those who this type of game appeals to.
Lians voice sounded pretty much the same to me. Both deliveries were fine. Just as 'annoying' in both languages imho.

I hear the Switch version has some pretty serious issues with framerate & bugs and such, did you experience that with your playtime?
This is the Switch version and as explained in the video, some of the towns are very jittery to walk in and there are small visual glitches, loading times and slow menus.

Runs bad on my preferred console and has a bad localization, gonna wait for a sale and a patch.

Do not buy the switch version!!!! I should have chosen the PS5 for my Kickstarter physical option. The loading time is horrendous and the amount of random encounters is also tied to the frame rate. Lower frame rate= more battles apparently. Switch is mainly around 22-24 FPS, and on the world map it dips to around 14!!! I'm heading to GameStop in the morning to spend MORE $$$ on this dang game on the only PS5 copy the store will have.

Most JRPGs don't go for realistic graphics as the main focus. I don't think you know much about this genre....
