hell if he would have just ran instead of turning to fire at perkins he may have made it out of there. I mean he was right next to stairs. If he would have just ran up the stairs he would have had a wall to block bullets. He could use that as a firing position.
He should have jumped to what woudld be his right behind the wall where the stairs is. And used the wall as cover. At the very least i think he could have made a longer fight of it and given himself more of a chance to survive. Or at the very least more of a chance to escape.

He wasn't gonna get out alive. He was beaten severely and was weakened
He just wanted them to kill him. They had to kill him because he had a gun, which he took from one of the guards. Otherwise they would have tortured him for much longer.

I love that final line of the scene. Vigo nods to Marcus' body and says "well played, old friend". The respect shown in the film isn't just towards John, but shown between all of the older and more experienced criminals. Vigo respects that the wounded and beaten Marcus turned the scene from torture to a fight and went out on his own terms, in the process killing some of Vigo's guards and thus making Vigo even more vulnerable to John.
I am so freaking flashed. As you all know the film is about John Wick's woman who died and now there are some people who cannot leave him alone. The thing is, the girlfriend of Keanu Reeves - the actor of John Wick - actually died in the early 2000s in a car accident. Just after she came from a concert/party of Marilyn Manson, the guy singing one of the songs of the soundtrack of John Wick. Her mother actually accused Marilyn Manson to have killed her daughter with drugs that led to that car accident. This has not been proven though. And now i'm sitting here, totally blown away by the choice of music in this movie...

I feel like I shouldn’t love this scene as much as I do. I mean, I shouldn’t love a death scene, but everything about this scene is just plain epic! The music, the phone call, Willem Defoe’s acting. Heck, EVERYONE’S acting was amazing. “No, my good sir. I go out on my own” is a freaking awesome line. Marcus went out like a boss.😊

The Boogeyman (not the same) is far better - he is the one who has a large bag and makes kids disappear. I don't know why but many people think it's the same. Here we got both, it's just that we call the Boogeyman Turbalan (comes from our word for bag).

The first movie is the best. The style, soundtrack, brutal realism, great characters, all this Gun Fu and pretty straightforward and simple plotline. Everything which is needed to become a badass action movie of the decade

This isn't one of the saddest deaths in cinema but it's definitely one of the most epic ones. Markus literally fought until his last breath. If Perkins wasn't there, this movie would've ended a tad sooner.
The man's son killed John Wick's dog and stole his car. Then the man killed one of John Wick's best pals. That's like signing your own death warrant twice.
