Sum view with the trees full of snow some nice
hard to beat a nice winter ride
I just picked up a 2010 Tundra Sport revXU 550F. I have been watching your videos for a few years and have been saving up. The sled is amazing, it truly is a mechanical snowshoe. Also I picked up the Snowmobile dolly that you recommended. Thanks for your videos Charlie 👍 keep it up. That new camera you have is crystal clear, feels like I’m there. Andrew from Ontario.
Glad you like them! And I'm pleased your happy with your sled... They are great machines...
Good view for breakin trail
I think so too, I wish I could find a solid mount for over the shoulder view.
@@NLGhostWolf i absolutely love the videos of the tundra in the back country. Its therapeutic watching them
Quite a Machine That, Silky ! Great Ride Along & Bam 1 In The Pen, Good Going, ATB T God Bless
Thanks 👍 Terry, yes the pen works like a charm, more pens to be built in the future for next years rabbit catching. Another mild heading towards us I'm not going to do much this year.
Great to see you posting again!
Hey, thanks!
I have had a saw like that for several years now. Love it. Easy to pack along and works great. Great video once again.
Thanks 👍 Good to know the saw has longevity
i enjoyed that ride you took us on.. i can see many rabbits in you future.as well as the pen is working dodnt forget to leave some for seed lol. i hope your wife is doing well. bill
Thanks 👍, She had another round of treatment on Friday. She's a tough lady and is doing as well as can be expected. In very good spirits...
Love it! Great views.
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the views
Great View with that camera on the front of the machine or on you're head Charlie. it was an awesome view. that saw is amazing cutting birch like butter lol. the pen sets up really quick and seems to work well. all the best take care. Thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed it, yes I'm very impressed with the Silky Saw. Cuts real good. That camera sure makes for better footage and once I get my new mic system for it, it'll be a great combo of vis and audio.
May be a fast trip down the mountain ....but probably a faster trip to emerge.
You know me well LOL, I got the Emerge Doctor on speed dial, and sadly that's true...
Those are great saws. Been using them for years at work, at home and in the bush. Still using original blade. Made in Japan.
Been waiting to see how the pen worked out. Awesome. Now I have a hankering for rabbit stew. Stay healthy, stay safe! 🍻👍
Yes my buddy I would have to agree, a great saw indeed. And you know there will be rabbit on the menu in the near future.
Good stuff Charlie...not many rabbits over this way this year! Like the saw, nice. Take care
Thanks, you too!
Love that camera. Great footage. God bless
Thanks John, I'm glad you like it buddy...
That Camera is steady and crystal clear. Your sled doesn't sound right when your heading down the trail. almost sounds like somethings rattling, or rubbing your track maybe. I check the video you made on the 26th and its way quieter, so it must be your camera position on the front of the sled, its picking up all the Engine and track noise I guess. Not much snow here in Pembroke either Charlie. Love that Saw. Thanks for the Vid, a great way to kill 40 min's while I wait for the leaf game, ,haha. Pen works great. Thumbs up, Cheers.
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Took forever to upload with my internet speed here.
Nice country side the saw is great to carry on a ATV or snow machine and your camera is very clear
Thanks 👍 Hope you and Mike are staying safe over there in NS.
Nice video the pen is working great. Been thinking about getting one of those saws you got me convinced lol but probably get one of the smaller ones. Lack of snow is unreal.
Never seen this before in my lifetime, and I was talking to an 80 year old man today who said the same. It's a winter for the record books I think.
@@NLGhostWolf Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come hard getting around in the country with no ice or snow
I think this has to be something rare. If not I'll be selling my sled and investing in tracks for my SxS.
Speaking as an expat Newfoundlander let me just say that you fellers have it snocked by! When I am taken on a ride like this it makes me regret having let my dad's old place in Springdale go up for sale. Home tugs at the heart of every Newfoundlander!
I know how you feel about that. We got a good 14" of snow last night... Might get out on the Tundra tomorrow when I come home from getting a hearing aid...
@@NLGhostWolf Can't wait to get home! My mom is in St Johns seniors home and have not seen her in 3 years. Getting pretty ancey to get home to make sure she is all right. Have a good run on me!
sound quality is very good also
thanks
Enjoyed the video. You should consider being a BRP Utility Sled Ambassador.
Is there such a thing?
@@NLGhostWolf Yup check out facebook.com/JeffreyHannSkiDoo/
You have done more to sell Ski Doo Tundra 600 ACE more than other reviewers. I bought an Expedition Sport 900 ACE because of your video "Tundra Mechanical Snowshoe" Never had a 4-stroke before you sold me on the ACE 600.
Another awesome video! That saw looks real slick! I will have to try that pen set.
You should! You can even experiment with bowing in the top of it so the rabbits might seek it out for cover.
That camera picture quality is notably better.
I'm very happy with it so far.
That is a good saw to have
for sure
The gopro position on the tundra is the next best thing to riding along. I tied the pen set together with nylon twine. I found the tie broke easily. It got down to -12 last night but still not enough snow here.
Haven't had the tied break yet but I have to be honest, it was/is a concern for me because I was wondering if it would be strong enough. Twine is an excellent option and perhaps I'll carry some in my pocket in case I get breakage of the ties. I was wondering how the pen would hold up if you have a coyote come by a grab your rabbit.
@@NLGhostWolf No predators yet. I am more concerned about the two legged ones.
Your new camera does the trick buddy
Thanks, I'm impressed with it so far.
Wow that’s beautiful great video friend
Thank you very much!
That’s some sweet backwoods trails. Could watch you ride all day long. How often do you typically go out end clear the trails of debris like this?
I ride every single day in normal winters. some days up to 10 hours straight. but at least to where you seen me turn around every day. Just type in Tundra Adventures or Tundra Time and my channel name and you should see a lot of my older videos of doing just that.
I like the view from the front of the sled, if you could cut the noise from the sled a little bit that would be great. I don't know if that's even possible 😃
Paul I can just lower the engine noise in post. I didn't adjust any audio in this video.
The camera works just great. I'm a bit weird, though, in that I get motion sickness with the movement of the camera. It's an issue I have, I guess, but it means I gotta fast forward through most moving bits.... Love that pen. Worked a charm! I have about 3 Silky saws in 3 different sizes: pocket size, medium and one walloping large one. They're all excellent tools and well worth every penny, in my humble opinion. Great vid! 👍🏻
I noticed the lower the camera gets to the ground/snow the faster the sled appears to be moving. perhaps I need to drive much slower when the camera is mounted low on the front bumper.
I can watch every video 10 times if I had time
tks
"I'd be like the grinch" lolol😁
I always look forward to your videos.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who never knows the date. Date doesn't matter. All I know is if I need to work today or not. I dont get weekends off so days of the week are inconsequential as well.
The hero 9 is very stable.
Thanks my friend I'm glad you enjoy the videos. I'm very impressed with the hero 9, and I'm glad to know there are others out there like me, No Clue what day it is or the date...
The gopro mounted on the front of the snowmobile really gave a good prospective of the up and down slopes of the trail.
The "Coghlan's Sierra Saw" is a great little saw that cuts very well and is very light weight and very inexpensive. Most of the time that is all I need to cut things out of the way.
I notice that as well, what a fellow needs is 3 camera or even 4 camera locations going at once. Bumper shots mixed with head mounts and the over the shoulder mounts and perhaps a front mounted camera looking back at you. But will my wife buy into that LOL....
The view and stability on the front and walking is awesome. I'd say more snow and the stability would be even better! It was nice go through the country side. I have seen that saw in a few bushcraft videos. They swear by them. Zach Fowler is one of them. Great stuff as always. Keep it up buddy! Oh.. and it would be nice for an update on your wife. I hope things are going well. 🙏
David she just finished her second treatment, she get them every 21 days. The first few days afterwards is very hard on her. But she's amazingly strong and never complains. I lucked out with her. Thank-you for your concern, it very much appreciated.
Thanks for taking us along on another great video, the quality is great with the new camera and both views work well ,the panning of your head is a little fast and I'm sure you will be getting your snow before long.
Glad you enjoyed it, Yes I will try and be more aware of the speed in which I turn/pan my head when I have the camera mounted on it. Thanks for the feedback. Look for improvements in future videos my friend.
@@NLGhostWolf Thanks Charlie received my silky saw fine tooth today, excellent saw ,its found a home on my atv in the Kawarthas in ON
Good video, Charlie! Just wondering do you use an external mic with your GoPro while you’re riding the machine? Audio is really clear when you’re talking. I’ve had one of those Silky saws for a few years now. I have the smaller Gomboy. I keep it in my pack at all times. Really comes in handy. I even used it to quarter up my last moose! Cheers!
I don't, it's just the built in mic for the hero 9, I'm getting the media mod and the rode wireless go mic system for it, but don't have it yet. I was surprised at how well the camera picks up my voice... Very pleased with it so far.
Yeee hawww buddy nice looking bunny
Thanks Jack
Great vid now on to grouse pen catching. Cheers Charlie!
Still need to run the bait Vs bait challenge
Nice video. I am hoping it warms up a little this weekend. Get out for my own tundra adventure. 🙂. We have been in a cold snap for a couple
Weeks.
I hope you get out for an adventure
My local YT weatherman claims your region is about to experience well above normal temps in the near future. Maybe even record breaking. I don't know if that is good or bad. For me that would be great. I lived in the geographical center of Maine for 5 years and couldn't take the brutal cold. (anything -20 celcius or below is brutal to me)
Oh wow! It's been some winter so far and by near future I'm hoping you're just talking about this winter and not the next few. I never cleared the Gronny this winter on the Tundra, not enough snow. I hope you get the warmer temps you like to see. As for us here on the Island, Well I hope we get to see some winter at least. Been raining for the last two days and another possible two days of rain in the forecast. Normally we have 2.5 meters of snow by now and thus far we have had just 85 cm. One meter equals 39 inches... We are way low on snow this winter.
@@NLGhostWolf amazing.
As far as which video view I like best, I would say the one on your head, because you can look in that direction if something interesting is near. But your sled just doesn't want to move the camera for us. LOL. That snare pen sure does go up fast. Like 2 seconds and done. I don't know if less snow is easier on the critters or not. Will less snow make it easier to thrive? Less snow may make it easier for wolves to get to the moose as they can run faster and longer without the deep snow that moose have the leg length that allows them to maneuver, What do you think? Maybe it wouldn't hurt to grab a handful of those little flags that cable companies stick it the ground to mark the cable, and stick them where you are finding the rocks so you are for warned of their location.
Well less snow is definitely easier on some critter like the moose and caribou for their movements in search of food supplies. Now the rabbits/hares use the snow for camouflage, defence as they are able to run on top of deep snow while their predators sink in pursuit and they use the increased snow depths to reach new tender tips of young trees and shrubs. Also some bears then to den up under downed trees and use the deep snow as insulation from the cold weather. Cubs are born in late Jan to early Feb and are less than a pound at birth, so lack of good insulation layer could be very hard on the new born cubs that could be exposed to more of the elements due to the lack of snow. Bottom line is, some animals will be much better off and others will be worst off. Nature always seem to fine a balance some how.
What year
2017
How deep is the snow on the west coast now? 2-3 feet in the woods on the avalon, you need snowshoes. No bottom two it though not the best for sled
We still got none to speak of. 9" is about the deepest I seen on my travels. But the average is maybe 4"... What a strange winter. Sounds like you guys need a little mild to help settle that snow.
Hard to believed the low snow condition in NF
I'm shocked.
Front mounted camera works great, I could feel those “ yes mames “ !
I think I need more camera's covering multiple angles... Hey BRP, send me some camera's for all the Tundra's I've sold for you guys LOL
Lapin and Lievre is French for Rabbit and Hare
Thanks
when and if your ever looking for a new best friend let me know,,,,,,cheers buddy
Haha you'll be the first one I call. Cheers my friend or should I say my new best friend.
whoville lol. Funny as heck,.
If I thought I could do it, it sure would make for a fast trip off the mountain...
