Emad is so underappreciated. Bringing open source AI art generation to the entirety of humanity is one of the biggest contributions I've ever seen, in terms of something free being given to the people that changes the entire landscape of the creative world.
And no one knows his name. He just gets attacked with hit-piece articles.

The biggest issue is structural alignments around society like anthromorphized astronomy and geology and mechanized biology. Now we put agency into computation even though it lacks soul it still a chance for pergatory docterine type events inadvertently.
You gotta to have local ownership of infrastructure ai saftey grids breaker box fuse like if it's just logistical ,power plants, utilities etc etc.
Esoterica America was designed and founded upon this very potential in the back of its mind giving us some arbitrary examples specifically skeptical about all types of hierarchy and reluctant about imposing physical prescription upon one another based on how even it is subject to change without further notice.

I don’t want a company OR a government owning these. I want MY OWN AI tool. We should amend the constitution to give everyone the right to own AI like guns.

Decentralized AI! I hadn't thought of that. That could be very powerful if it can be made safe. Otherwise organized crime and terrorists can use the decentralized AI for dangerous purposes.

"By the people for the people" and "collect the smartest people" are diametrically opposed instincts. History shows us that By the People for the People" is really just marketing. "The smartest people" will ALWAYS default to the gravity of profit.

I guess my worry is, if we create these vector files, and run them locally, what is to say that someone will give that general purpose vector file to a larger company, where it digest is and also benefits from the local intelligence model? Basically engulfing all our effort.

    • @balqaasem

Exactly. Can’t stop that and licensing won’t help either, many companies don’t abide by FOSS licenses in their closed code bases. If I’d build an AI project that is also decentralised then I’d be prefer to make something that help companies train their AI models either by compute or human annotations.

what i love about this interview is it should be clear why he joined the Render board and proposed his RNP.
almost every ai crypto project is a scam. the only ai crypto founder on stage at GTC was Jules.
and the reason Render left Eth for Solana is perfect since this genius was crowing about calling out Solana’s congestion issue and Toly dropped a bomb on his head
…..it was for anyone who understands what a fool he was and how he literally had no idea why the network was/is congested
