Hey Bob, to me you have the perfect ears, mind and heart when it comes to listening to Dirty Loops!
I love your heartfelt reactions, and then your breakdowns afterwards. Super interesting to me 👍
Honestly, this song gives me chills every time I listen to it 😱
Those haunting chords when the feel hits half time, contrasted by those sick, synthy bars in between, -I mean how far do they want to take the art of creating contrasts in their music?!
It’s like Rachmaninov meets Skrillex meets James Bond….
The film score style of writing, then Jonah’s playing and singing, then Aron and Henrik being locked in so tightly -what do you even say??
Your saying that Dirty Loops continuously reinvent themselves with every track they do, is so spot on!
One thing’s a constant: Dirty Loops are never the same, they always change 😉
Btw, as I think you said too, this song features a real string orchestra. And it adds soooo much!
Jonah could’ve contributed all of the harmonic workings in here, since it reminds me of Rachmaninov so much, and I know he’s a big Rach fan. But then likewise, Aron writes so much of their music, including harmonic progressions and even melody (and bass) lines. He’s also involved in a project with a friend, writing orchestral music (Arvid & Aron).
    Henrik’s also writes.
They often work in pairs, in different combinations.
It’s an interesting process, for sure.
Jonah aspires to write film music.
Aron’s orchestral scores also have a sometimes strong movie score vibe to them, I find.
In time there’ll be interviews with them, probably after they’ve finished releasing all of their new Beagle material. So we might find out more about their songwriting process then….
Thanks again for a stellar reaction, Bob! 🙏
Good to see your mind blown by these nasty guys ;)

I found this to be the first song from them that i initially did not just "get" at the first listen - have since found this to grow every time i hear it - and now i really enjoy it immensly - for what it is - unlike much or most in the ether & on the music scene - but i love it all the more fo that

@@bobcieslinskime too! It took me some time to get it, to some extent also Run Away, thinking ”what is this?”. But what they do is really challenging my boundaries, and that’s coming from a guy who listen to a lot of strange stuff in the seventies. It’s their playing around with genres that amazes me, and when you thought you got it after 12 years of Dirty Loops they just ”hey, now listen to this” 😂

You should also check out Arons composition that he co-wrote with his friend Arvid. It's an orchestral piece, called "Mega March"

@@bobcieslinski one can only feel blessed in times like these, taking part of their creations... There is tons of exceptionell musicians and artists in this world, but it's not that common that you run into something that is new, not mainstream, totaly out of the box and created with such surgical precision, knowledge, and usage of musical theory 😇.
Seen them Live a couple of times and they always deliver, as Live performance should... with surprises and not just like recorded. They more or less always take time to meet and greet their fans after every show. They will alway be a true source of inspiration 🙂.
I'm glad you took the time to check out that masterpiece.
Don't know if you've checked out another fantastic Swedish artist, Erik Gröwall. If not, there's another exceptionell talent right there..

I’d agree it seemed more like a movie score. I just didn’t find the standard music pattern, it seemed more random, like following a movie sequence. Musicianship was excellent, just kind of a weird song.

Nope there sure was not your normal 1,4,5 chord pattern here lots or chord transitions and patterns. They sure are amazing musicians for sure Guy.
