- If you are planning to go to Jacmel through Seguin, these are the few challenging obstacles that you will have to face. Since it’s a very dynamic path, consider this video as the 19FEB2022-Version.
This is a great video that shows the trail aspect of our country, whom most of us have no clue of their existence. in the 80s, I rode many trails and dirt roads on a Xr600r, from Fonds des Blancs to cotes de fer, Anse a Veaux to Cavaillon, and the list goes on and on. The merciless carrefour 44 mighty mud spared no one in those days. I have been away for a while, and have ridden lots of trails in the US. I have to say, what you see here is worst than what the camera angle captured. it reminded me of black bear pass in the mountain of Colorado that takes you to Telluride, dangerous and not for the fainted hearts. like someone mentioned earlier, those riding the small bikes have incredible skills going uphill loaded. I ride an XR650r, and have been to many tough places, this one is definitely in my bucket list God's willing. Haiti is full of dirt bike riding adventure, and I am hoping and praying for better tourism days.

Really nice video man - For those that have never been there, I want to tell you that the video doesn't do justice to the difficulty of some of these sections...
I have taken that road many times on my Honda CRF450X and I can tell you it's no joke. These guys riding these small bikes loaded with people and goods have an incredible amount of skill.

No it really does not show the difficulty and the obstacles you'll run in on this road. Worst, if you're stuck or screw up, this is it, end of trip. Today I would chicken out right from the start. Takes me back on memory lane 1992 when I thought I'll go to Jacmel on the 101, yeah right good plan. After more than 2 hours from Pap stuck somewhere in la Visite national park end of road, what.? My map says road till Jacmel. Ok some map you got there, problem is government is 15 years behind your map. Turns out they were wrong, 30 years later still you can't make it. Remembers me to my trip to morocco where I decided to take a road in the south to go eastwards. Boom same shit no more road I think them maps came from the same company! Fuck, well I could cool myself cause on the last 10 miles we were stopped every 2 minutes and offered some original africana weed. After turning them down 100 times and reaching the eor I was on to it. Weed proved to be way better than road system.🤪

I went solo, very slow for the video, stopped a lot, back and forth 5 hours.
If you don't break down and you are riding at a steady pace - you can do Kenskoff to Marigot in about 1.5 - 2 hrs
One of friends told me , they can go to Jamel through mountains , they don’t have to go to port -au Prince, oh I was so happy , I didn’t know that the road was dangerous et bad , very scary , they need to fix it ,
Once we fix it, it will lose its value, it will have the same problems as all the other national roads.
Also, if we can dare to dream about a budget that could fix that road, we can dream about that same budget building an army that provide jobs while eliminating the current problems that our national roads have.

This is a nice but dangerous road This trail should have been converted to a beautiful traveling road . Where are our leaders ? They rather been criminals but having a vision to transform the country, to develop the country .These thugs should be put in a line and shut just like papa doc used to do . I am no fan of the Duvalier they are mostly responsible for the country been this way because the Duvaliers as dictator has the control of the people and could have transformed the country to a paradise by building roads all over just like in the other countries that would have helped the farmers to bring their crops to the market . Without transportation the countries is disabled. But we Haitian people need to thing differently,think about the future about the ways we are seeing around the world and try to thing how to build a society, a sense of community this what is missing . The mentality of every man for himself has to change.
