- Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this gorgeous 1971 Buick Electra 225. This beautiful Buick 4 door hardtop has been kept in incredible condition and the blue paint shows very well. Buick’s full-sized Electra 225 was a total redesign in 1971, with fashionable interior styling. The car utilized Buick’s 455-cid, 315-hp V-8, and rode on a huge 127-inch wheelbase. The car’s length increased by more than two inches from the prior year to 227.9, and it's weight was correspondingly heavier by 340 pounds. This new design placed the Buick closer to Cadillac territory than ever before. The V8 engine runs great and pushes its power through a smooth shifting automatic transmission. This Electra is equipped with cold a/c am/fm radio, power brakes, power steering, seatbelts, power windows and comfortable, stylish upholstery. Everyone loves the look of a classic and admires the style of yesteryear. With all the features offered for that era, this one is ready for regular use in comfort and style. Located in our Tampa ,Florida Showroom, this 1971 Buick Electra 225 can be seen including 50+ HD pictures and video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. The bigger, the better!
Fucking classic sleepers man , my generation doesn’t understand the meaning of not getting left on the road or stranded , just immaculate and reliable
Took my DMV roadtest in my dad's '71. The tester appeared like it was too much car for me. My dad's was fully equipped ,he seemed more interested in the deuce. Got my Jr.license. he couldn't believe how smooth & easy I parallel park with the land yacht. Jelly!!!!
I Love the '68 2-Door Hardtop models the best, but I would be very happy to own any year Electra 225. Just spectacular cars that fly under the radar!
A REAL Buick 😀
Hellz YEAH!
You said it!
Love it. A Coupe 1971/72 is on my bucket list
I had a '71 coupe in 1979 and loved it!
What a smooth ride this cars and I love the smell too
Yes, the old Buick's had a smell of their own. My big bro owned two buick's....a '67 Electra and a '72 Electra in the same color as this one, and they both had a different Buick smell, I loved them both!!
Mine STINKS and that's a big problem. It smells like ancient Vinyl. It looks great, but if I drive it for 1-2 hours, then I smell like that too. I might have to spend $$$ and re-do the seats with leather just to get rid of that foul odor.
My dad bought his 72 in 1976 then in 1978 traded it on for his 1973 Big Buick Electra 225!
Riding in these cars as a kid, was what in part, made my childhood great!!!
Lovely looking car. I've always liked the 1971 Buick full-sized cars. :)
I had a 1970 Electra 225 with the 455. It was somewhat stripped down as the only options were power windows, power steering and brakes. The car fooled a lot of people that tried to run against it.
It would be too cool to see such a vehicle on the highway....
Especially OUTSIDE of the annual Detroit "Woodward Dream Cruise" that takes place in August.
Come out and see us at Woodward!
This is the base model, The Custom had the 3 spoke steering wheel, and "proper" (read Caddilac) door pull straps, but pretty much the same seating, The "Limted" had "fancier" seating. It's rare indeed to see an Electra with the "LeSabre" steering wheel and no door pull straps. Most were not built that way.
Deuce and a quarter! What the money men were driving back in the day. And Eldorado.
This looks exactly like my big bro's car, from back in the day!!
Same color, but his was a '72 he got in '75 for around $4000,00
My Dad was the first person, I've ever heard refer to a car like this, as a boat, and that was in 1975.
Same.
very pretty!
2:54 FUN FACT: The "BUICK" nameplate shown is slightly off "level". Not a defect. It UNBOLTS easily from the back. It can be moved to anywhere on the grille. Someone didn't line this one up when the put it back on. I used to move mine around periodically. Why? Um, I don't know , I was a dumb 20 year old kid, LOL.
Ditch the Hitch and music 👍
I had this exact model in the early 1980's.(For almost 40 years MOST of my cars were Buicks, Including 5 different year Electras) This one is beautiful. My only "beef" is that EVERY old car with a V-8 that's still around to day is LOUD. Lemme let the "kids" in on a little secret. The "C" body GM cars then (Cadillac DeVille,Buick Electra 225, Oldsmobile 98) are supposed to be TOMB QUIET. Even though my '71 was 12 years old, It ran SO QUIET, I accidentally hit the starter while it was running MORE THAN ONCE, LOL. These were NOT "muscle" cars, Their "burble" was a more subtle note.
My first car at 17 ... bigger than my bedroom
Bill Mitchell masterpiece.
The 1971 M.Y. was interesting, as the Mitchell "look" (61-70) got some of the old Harley Earl roundness back,A nice blend of Earl and Mitchell. How much that was homage to Earl, (Had to be SOME, the 1971 Olds 98 is an homage to the 1960 Cadillac!) or a reaction to MoPar's "Fuselage" look from 1969, I don't know. What We DO know is for the 1977 "B/C/D" body program, The Mitchell "sheer line" look was back in full effect.
@@jamesslick4790 thx for info
@@aarongranda7825 No Problem. 👍😊👍 For all the crap the 71-76 generation B/C GM cars gets, it seems NOBODY (Today) "gets" what this generation was about. These (1971-1976) GM full size cars were the LAST of the Post War American cars. REAL AMERICAN CARS!!! 😊
I would like to know what gm had planned for the 77 b bodies if the oil embargo had never happened. Would a 77 Cadillac be even longer than a 76?
Never heard sheer line before but I did know Mitchell trimmed away shoulders and ditched vent windows which he derided as being there for cigar smokers.
This was the last year of untethered horsepower.....before the emission controls went on and the ratings were 'held down' as 'net ratings' not full out power........
Everyone knows the 71's had twice the horsepower of the 73's
From GROSS to SAE NET in them years. But, the 71, was the most powerful of the low compression.
Still available?
I bet that big ride will melt the back tires off.......
Shocking "grunt" for a car this size, (don't ask me how I know,LOL)
Wrong steering wheel and power window switches are wrong. We had a 71. I know.
I thought this too! THIS IS NOT A LIMITED, THEY HAD THE NICER DOOR PANELS AND THREE SPOKE WHEEL.
キャデラック嫌いのためのキャデラック
The video is better without the cheap space music. The engine is music enough.
Strip down 👇. Nope, nobody wants that. 🤨
