This piece is the bane of my existence. It is so difficult to hold the notes and make it sound innocent. Great job
Do not "play it" feel it 🙏
@@peakyblinder777im playing it😢😢😢😢😢
Ikr, my hands hurt after practicing😭😭
Sameee
You can always cheat it by rolling the notes or pedal it :)
I’m 13 and I decided to learn this beautiful piece for my spring piano recital. I’ve been playing for over 8 years but this piece is still quite a challenge. This video helped a lot. Thank you!
Edit: I finished learning this piece and played without any mistakes at the recital. It was a success.
Well done! Any tips?
Just drill, practice hands separately, use a metronome, and practice in small pieces. That's what I do for every new piece. Hope it helps!
I'm thirteen right now and I have also been playing for eight years
1:14 Gives me goosebumps every time.

Wonderful. Debussy is simply great as well is your performance

it is so relaxing... i can listen to this kind of music whole day...
Şimdi?
I started learning piano a few weeks ago. This is my favourite piece of music so far, it holds some mysterious beauty to me and it seemed very easy to play. So I printed it and sat next to a piano with the sheet music, and it turns out that it's SO much more harder than I thought!..
Debussy is an excellent composer. His music is so complex and easing at the same time.
If you're learning on your own, here is a piece of advice I wish I had: don't struggle for months on even intermediate pieces. You will progress so much faster if you only focus on pieces you can play reasonably well in 1-2 weeks. At least until you're out of the beginner stage.
What pieces did you learn for when you were a beginner?
Exactly! I play the piano for 5 years already, actually 5 And half, And Its really pretty difficult to learn just from the video i know you were talking about sheet music but even that Is hard 😅 i Guess i have to ask my piano teacher if She Doesn't have the sheet music for this because Its a masterpiece And one of my favorite Composition. Wish you So much luck with that, i'm sure you can do it!!❤️
@@Tenolios can you recommend best piano pieces for beginners?
@@mrbulkyc1 No best, just look around for it. First lessons in bach, burgmuller arabesque, fur elise first part, river flow, amelie.
This is probably the most beautiful piano piece of music written in the late 19th century. It's a masterpiece.
Actually, I’m non-binary
@@Mster_JI’m bi 😊
I started listening eyes closed, when I opened my eyes, I saw I'm somewhere among the meadows. Love it.
It's so fitting for the late night and for early morning. Claude is just awesome
There is no music that talks about Debussy more than this masterpiece.
Beautiful sound, and pacing is great. Congrats on another great vid!
Means a lot coming from you!
Seriously I love this piece by Debussy thank you very much! Gracias! Love from India

@Gabriel Henschen what?
@Gabriel Henschen So his name doesn't sound Indian, but what's the problem

Maybe even... flaxen?
Beautifully played. I would use this piece to get girls, but idk if they would actually like it. Anyways, beautiful tone and awesome performance!!
Well damn! You'll have me swooning, positively other girls too.
You will definitely get girls if you play this piece! Same with other Debussy pieces lol
My music appreciation teacher played this video in class and my crush was right next to me and this music represented my heart when I laid my eyes on him. Thank you so much for making this; this made me so happy!

You really deserve a grand piano and not a keyboard. Wishing you all successes, your music is beautiful.
Thanks so much!! The only hassle with it is setting up the mics for the perfect sound though
@TheTage Show No. I wish. A Steinway
@TheTage Show Just a Roland RD-2000 and an Essex upright
@TheTage Show Yes it is, but I was able to save up for it and the quality's real good. Sound's decent but not too realistic

I had three sisters as student once. All three had the lightest of silvery blonde hair the got from their father. I will be forever thinking of them when I hear this piece.
Jason, this is an outstanding performance of this iconic piece of music!!! So much lies in the interpretation of a piece and I can feel your emotion as you play it. It has been so many years since I've played this. In fact, I was still in my youth (recital piece), so that's a LONG time. I wonder how I would interpret it today as a mature person? Thanks so much for your great performances. I love your channel :-) Take good care, ~Jackie
Thanks for watching this again! Worth a try, if your hands can still do it!
@@TheFlamingPiano You're welcome Jason! I am sure my hands can do this one... this, and so many others I would love to play would require a bit of re-study and just so tough to find time. First I really want to finalize my new pieces. So much music...so little time! 🤪
Gorgeous and delightful performance, my friend! I absolutely love Debussy and especially this piece. Super like 107! Thanks again for visiting my place! Best regards, Michelle :-)

Thanks for this nice and good music, friend...!!! Have a great week.
You are very talented, my friend. No wonder your channel is doing so well. A like from me.
Beautiful playing. And very helpful, this video helped me learn the whole piece Thank you !
A fine example of Debussy's work here; especially as I love the contemporary impressionist movement in painting he was often associated with (Monet et al), his approach sharing some characteristics of this style (despite his rejection of such by contemporary commentators apparently). Love the English Title translation on this one... (very poetic)! 😊
Oh wow. Thanks for watching!
@@TheFlamingPiano A pleasure of course! 😊
Danke dir für das alte aber sehr schöne Stück.

Dear Jason! What a beautiful rendition of this famous and spectacular piece from the great Debussy!! I remember this fondly from my youth recitals and brings back great memories for me. Your interpretation and touch on the keys is magnificent!! I love your patient approach that properly allows this piece to "breathe" and your dynamics are second to none! Thank you for this fantastic, concert quality rendition!! I commend you!! BRAVO!!! ~Jackie
Thank you very much! Hope to hear you play this too next time!
@@TheFlamingPiano You are so very welcome! Much more going in this piece that many may realize I think. I really should dig back into some of the "easier" old Classical pieces. Since the accident destroyed my dexterity, there are some pieces I can't even touch anymore. I get tears in my eyes for Chopin, not only because it's so beautiful, but because I can't play my top favorites anymore. However, I can't complain really Jason. I quit for over 25 years because of it initially and couldn't do post grad studies, then was gifted with a piano again by my husband because he knew music was missing. I asked for my first piano at age 4 and music has been playing in my head all my life. I love nothing more and you really do inspire me to try some of them again!! Thank YOU :-)
@@ClassicalJams Ouch. no therapy or surgery for that? At least you're still able to compose and play pieces with good execution. Not even extra practice will help? Anyway thank you very much for all your support!
@@TheFlamingPiano Just popped in again after some much-needed gardening. I have been in various therapies most of my life to stay athletic and main what I have. It's nerve damage, but heavily exacerbated by very nasty tendinitis, which becomes harder and harder to heal as I grow older...and now ulnar nerve compression, also treatable with surgery, but natural methods first. To help with some of the other symptoms, yes surgery always a possibility to prevent further damage and I am in the process of getting that evaluated now. Was hoping to wait for advances in stem cell treatments. What I am taking now is drastically reducing the inflammation, so I am happy in the moment. Those are the times when things get better, but if I am not careful in my practice and playing (not to mention garden, golf, bicycling), I easily break myself again! Oh my, I realize I've just written a mini-novel....so sorry! Enjoy your day. ~Jackie
@@ClassicalJams Oh shit be careful then!
