in the main blocks the problem was the long landings you could race motorbikes on them. if you lived one end it was quiet the other led to the shopping city you would have everybody passing your flat. the centrally controlled heating could not properly reach one of the blocks and it was shut down and evacuated. incidentally those round windows, a metre across, a child could fall out of so much money was spent putting a half moon safety glass on the inside.
My brother had a studio flat there. Our stop off after night out in the Cherry Tree and the lodge chippy.

Yes, a lot of us were there as a result of ICI. I was a chemistry technician at the time.

Yeah I suspect it had similar problems as Hulme crescents. They were really bad.
Awful looking buildings, looks like a massive launderette.
