It’s the best vehicle available in the USA and Canada. It’s not high-tech, it’s not sophisticated, it doesn’t please all the critics and it doesn’t chase rainbows to try to do so and that’s what makes it great.
I drove one for the first time a couple weeks ago; I was most impressed by how utterly comfortable the driving experience is, how good the visibility is, and how smooth the ride is with the 17” wheels and KDSS. I put a deposit down and I’m waiting to take delivery of a TRD Off Road Premium in Barcelona Red Metallic as I’ve long admired that color. This will be my very first new vehicle and it’s a source of comfort that it’s such an “old” new vehicle that has proven it’s value in real life circumstances many times over. The 2025 4Runner was unveiled just yesterday and now I know for certain that I still want a 2024.
Make sure you do an early break in oil change…I did mine at 700km. Lots of metal…second one at 1300km. Little bit of metal. Still need to do another one hopefully all the metal is gone.

I’m convinced that these will go down as some of the most reliable vehicles ever made and people will want them when the 6th gens start having issues with all of the extra complication.
The people who call this car outdated and bad because it's outdated really don't get the point of this car, that's basically the point! "If it ain't broke don't fix it"
It is outdated, old, ancient, along with being extremely reliable and durable.....in other words for me; It is PERFECT!!! Lets be honest, the only reason the engine and transmission are going away is because of government mandated mpg and emissions. If Toyota had their way, the engine would stay with maybe an updated 6 or 8 speed transmission and an updated interior that is still durable and utilitarian. I just picked up my 2024 black 4Runner TRD Offroad Premium Plus and love it. For the cost of 2025 TRD Pro (Probably around 63k to 64k with the Trial hunter coming in at 65k+), you are well within the middle trim of Land Cruiser and just below the Lexus GX550 Overtrail. I just saw a video that the payload for 2025 TRD Pro is around 875 pounds, so if transporting people and hauling a trailer of some kind, the GX550 Overtrail makes more sense.
Bought a 23 TRD off road in lunar rock last year. Ordered it because I thought it was the last year…. It’s my pre retirement vehicle…love it. Will drive it and maintain it myself forever…. Only the heated steering wheel is only on the sides and not top 360…. Ohh well still love it.
i bought my 2016 4runner trail with kdss brand new, and it is my second 4runner, i can not imagine owning any other kind of vehicle. I've pretty much decked it all out for overlandding and still be my daily driver. with only 54000km on it and very much well looked after, i really have no reason to trade her in on anything. in this day and age where vehicles are becoming so high tech, i myself would rather stick to a vehicle that has proven itself time and time again and still come out on top with a great resale value that is second to none. love my 4runnner.
Was excited for the new Land Cruiser but couldn’t believe the quality of it when I test drove one. Wasn’t impressed at all and disappointed. Will be rebuying the 5th gen runner with no hesitation and put my own aftermarket throttle kit. Toyota has lost their minds with the prices
What’s the heated steering wheel like? Expand a bit. And how is the dual climate system? I’m one of the converted, just curious about some features mine is missing. Go Canyada 🇨🇦. 🏒. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
@@lugnutscarreviews Thanks, appreciate it. It doesn’t get super cold in Seattle, but my ORP sits in a carport and the wheel gets frozen in the early morning. Go Canucks. 🥅🏒
The heated wheel is only on the sides…. It’s adequate but for those of us who hold the wheel on top. Your hands remain cold…. Works as Toyota intended.

Very well put.

You're so right and I think you made the right choice. There will be a big rush to get these while you still can. Enjoy!!!

Couldn't agree more. Does beg the question, "if it ain't broke, why fix it?".

Yep. You got it.

Good for you. With the new one coming your timing was impeccable. Enjoy!
I did the same. 2024 TRD off road premium in solar octane. I did the black out package, black wheels and rock sliders.

54k... not even broken in yet. Love that
Beautiful rig!! the last of the great Japanese mid sized V6 SUV

Wise choice I think. Like you, I'm not sure about the new one.
I dunno if I would consider an ORP to be a mid-grade model. Seems 1 below the Pro to me.
My 2023TRD off-road had an exceptional back up camera, but my 2024 TRD pro does not
Seems odd...
my grandma had isotoners driving gloves that would match her shoes and dress and her umbrella would match the gloves and dress if it was raining.
Lol. That's awesome
This is way better value than the TRD Pro.
Agreed. At some point your just paying for badges.

Heated steering wheel was good. I was surprised it had that feature. Didn't test the dual climate control. 🇨🇦
