When you are in Pure mode it restricts how much power goes to the air-conditioning (both heating and cooling) - much better to drive in Hybrid and use the Sat-Nav for your journey, then if it's a short journey the car will do it all with the electric motor with no petrol used (unless you really floor it), yet you'll still get full aircon and heating...

I have a mach e with standard range battery and rear wheel drive. I live in New York. I’ve had it for over 1 1/2 years, aside from the range loss in cold weather it handles excellent. All wheel drive reduces the range of any of the batteries by about 15%. Since we only get heavy snow a couple of times a year, why lose range all year? I love my Mach e. It has about 14,000 miles on it. I can actually say it’s the best car I’ve ever owned. I’m 75, i’ve owned four top of the line Lincolns as well as many other great cars. None of them comes close to the 23 Mach e premium we now have. The key is to be able to charge at home on a level 2 charger. We’ve made a trip to Miami Florida, and Quebec Canada. No problems using the super chargers, although you have to factor in extra time for charging. The average charge at a super charger is about 30 minutes. With all the convenience and safety features, this is a great car!

i bought my 2016 4runner trail with kdss brand new, and it is my second 4runner, i can not imagine owning any other kind of vehicle. I've pretty much decked it all out for overlandding and still be my daily driver. with only 54000km on it and very much well looked after, i really have no reason to trade her in on anything. in this day and age where vehicles are becoming so high tech, i myself would rather stick to a vehicle that has proven itself time and time again and still come out on top with a great resale value that is second to none. love my 4runnner.

My daily is a ND2 Miata manual, love driving to work and back in it, and prefer it to any automatic in traffic. My first car was a 2007 mazda protege 5dr A/T, loved it and always used the manual mode shifters but made me desire learning manual. Then got a 2011 hyundai accent M/T and 1995 miata M/T. Traded both for a lexus convertible A/T for best of both worlds, but after 4 years I deeply missed having a manual. Then went NC miata then ND miata which I plan to hang on to.

Thanks. I needed that so now the only options for manual that I can get in a 4 door car is the Mazda 3 and the Honda Civic, would look into the Nissan Sentra but the manual option is only in Canada.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Manual cars are not long for this world. Very sad.

I remember years ago several versions of the Porsche 911 had 7 gears (uncle had a Carrera S with a 7 speed, actually got to drive it!😎) but I'm unaware of any other non-Porsche that had more than 6 speeds. On that 911 the first 5 gears were close ratio, 6 and 7 were for Autobahn cruising...6th if you still needed a bit of torque at high speed.

This is America, we say COUPE, not coupe'! A coupe is 2 door, not 4 door. Boring review. We don't care about your opinions, just review the car!

I drove one for the first time a couple weeks ago; I was most impressed by how utterly comfortable the driving experience is, how good the visibility is, and how smooth the ride is with the 17” wheels and KDSS. I put a deposit down and I’m waiting to take delivery of a TRD Off Road Premium in Barcelona Red Metallic as I’ve long admired that color. This will be my very first new vehicle and it’s a source of comfort that it’s such an “old” new vehicle that has proven it’s value in real life circumstances many times over. The 2025 4Runner was unveiled just yesterday and now I know for certain that I still want a 2024.

Make sure you do an early break in oil change…I did mine at 700km. Lots of metal…second one at 1300km. Little bit of metal. Still need to do another one hopefully all the metal is gone.

From 1st to 2nd gear, did you notice any rev hang? I heard newer manuals have that problem. Nice review btw!

Tyvm for watching. I didn't notice any real rev hang during my time with the car. I was actually surprised how good the driving experience was for what is an everyday car

    • @autofigure00

it's definitely slightly present from 1st to 2nd but it isn't super bad or excessively long. It does make shifting from first to second lurchy if you aren't trying to be extremely precise and smooth, but in normal traffic when you drive slower / aren't ripping the car its less noticeable since casual driving gives it more time for the revs to drop down. After 9 months of owning this I've also noticed when pressing the clutch, the revs drop but they seem to stop / hang at the rev level for the next gear given your current speed for one or two seconds before continuing to drop down past that (except when you give it gas of course for downshifting). I think that's one of the key things that helps to make this transmission so smooth feeling, but I've never seen anyone mention this, but it's a smart idea having it hold it for a second with no effect on downshifting, and when you drive harder it doesn't matter since you release the clutch while the revs are still initially dropping.
