Great video, thank you. Bought the max way plus 2 years ago. Our very tall child is 2.5 years old and is now nearing the max height! Had no idea as we spent a lot of money on this seat to be able to use it until 5-6 years of age. Wish I’d got the axkid instead! Can’t afford to buy another expensive extended rear facing seat so looks like I’m going to have to forward face much earlier than I want to!

It's a great seat despite the public information disaster by Britax. Those who are informed about rear facing seats know that Britax are completely wrong. A person in UK was likely asked and had no idea about rear facing seats or the millions of Euros this would cost the company for no reason. There is no official maximum height but Britax are saying that the seat is outgrown when eye level is at top of outer shell. This usually means around age 4 or about 110-115 cm. Have never heard of a 2.5 year old being that tall so hopefully you have plenty of time left. Britax have zero seats offering longer rear facing time and are years behind other well known brands.

Thank you. That was very informative. Hopefully someone comes out with better seats for rear facing!

I was about to buy this carseat for my daughter but she will reach the heigh by the age of 4 for sure. Wish there were more options at this price.

Does the Britax MAX SAFE PRO have the same issue? i've read it's for up to 7 years (61 - 125 cm | 36 kg) looks much better then this version

Our advice is to ignore the Britax nonsense and use the seat as long as your child will fit in the seat and don't exceed the 25 kg weight limit. Max-Way and Max-Way Plus are both easily top 5 of the best rear facing seats ever produced. Cheap, light weight, compact safe and Plustested. You will struggle massively to find better seats. The new Max-Safe Pro/Safe-Way M are not better seats but MW/MW Plus are no longer produced.

I got this seat and all installed in my car not too long ago. She is 2 now was hoping to have her rear facing until at least 5! We will see how her height is over the years and I will keep this in mind.

Correct. But Britax are wrong and likely asked some person at their HQ in UK who had no idea about rear facing seats.

Hi! Di you know if it is the same issue with their new model: max safe pro? Or can it be used up to 125?

Max-Safe Pro and Safe-Way M both last the same amount of time rear facing. Seat shell is taller than Max-Way/Max-Way Plus but head support of the newer seats don't really stick ut above the shell. The advice from Britax regarding the older Max-Way/Max-Way Plus should be completely ignored. Use these seats as long as child can fit under head support.

This is a massive setback after paying around £300 for a seat that only lasts 3-4 years as rear facing. Britax owes customers at least a discount voucher based on this information alongside poor or misleading safety advice.
