    This is something that would have been used back when Da Vinci was alive? What a clever design using gear reductions like that.

    indirecty, you have just helped me build my first bicycle project. I have been trying and trying to find a "non common"
    way to build it and your compass and wheel have just showed me how, I thank you greatly.
    on another note, I always love watching your videos and plan to copy a few of your machines for fun😃
    cheers from MT

    Creative way to measure distance! Leonardo Da Vinci was a pretty creative dude. And I see how this could be modified to measure even longer distances so, very nice.

      strange how many of the inventions that worked well were tools and defencive use, but his weapons didn't work or weren't useful....hmmm very strange

      Help with what ? It is as simple as it looks. Except the practical use of this machine are non existent in 2020. It works and it keeps a man busy.
      ...Maybe he could give us the math behind the wheels so you can modify yours to cover longer of shorter distances. But that’s something you could find by yourself if you had any real interests for it.

    We can see the flaw and the lack in the design, but we couldn't help but satisfied by the fact he design a measurer that can count as it in motion. Not to mention, using mathematics in order to make it as portal as possible

    If the gear pegs are close enough together that the marbles won't fit between them, then you could increase the capacity just by adding two fixed wiper arms above the counter wheel (one on either side of the fall-through) and pouring the outside arc full.

    Could a hopper be installed so that more balls can be used?

    • @CurmudgeonExtraordinaire
      @CurmudgeonExtraordinaire 7 лет назад +2

      If I was doing it, I would go with what would basically be a gravity fed magazine. You would need to feed it into one of the holes that does not drop it through to the tray underneath. That way, only one ball could get loaded at a time. If you do that, you really don't need all those holes around the wheel though. You could also change the gearing ratio so that it only dropped one ball per revolution.

  • @brujo_millonario
    @brujo_millonario 6 лет назад +1

    Suggestion, instead of using marbles, attach a long tape that unrolls in the way. Or a cylinder with a paper and a pencil that draws and moves while the wheel is turning. I hope I've made myself clear...

    +veproject1 Да , порадовало видео , а что есть люди которые в это верят и которые не ходили в школу. Ведь закон сохранения энергии никто не отменял . Полная энергия замкнутой системы тел, между которыми действуют только консервативные силы, остаётся постоянной . Проще говоря, при отсутствии диссипативных сил энергия не возникает из ничего и не может исчезнуть в никуда P.S. Во времена СССР били похожие электрообогреватели как на видео по ссылке а тут оказывается мы их использовали не по назначению
