    We wanted an Outdoor Sectional but we did not want to pay the prices in the stores! Outdoor furniture is expensive, especially if you want something large like this sectional. After shopping around I decided to design and build my own, which allowed me to spend less than half of the retail cost of a store-bought outdoor sectional. I also think the quality of my build is better than the cheap metal ones in the stores so it will last longer. Along with my build video, I designed project plans that have every detail you need to build your own and I think you will find the project rewarding. Find all the details below. Happy building!

    really enjoyed the video. So good that the plan is available as well. I've just purchased, it looks really well set out with the cut lists etc. This might be a long shot but I'll ask anyway. Any chance of getting a metric version? As an Aussie the whole inches and feet thing just does my head in! 🤪

      Hey Michael. Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it. I’m also honored you got my plans and plan to build. Sorry about not having a metric set. I can’t do the metric system at all. 😆 Hopefully you can convert without too much trouble!

    Great video, I have one myself but after 2 seasons in SC summers, the wood is faded from the maple and dried up. Any recommendations on something I can put on it either coating or some sort of fabric to protect it?

      Thanks! Hmm. We used to live in SC so I understand the summers! I would try something like this: amzn.to/3TtcPTU

    I've never built anything, but need a new frame for the cushions i have already. I think I'm going to use your plan and adapt it to the size of our cushions. As someone who has no experience and limited space for tools, what suggestions would you have for buying tools? I'd need to move the table i have out to the driveway and do all my cutting there and then store the tools in a fairly small area.

    • @diywithandrew
      @diywithandrew  Год назад +1

      You can definitely do it! I would recommend RYOBI tools, found at Home Depot. You could do everything with a circular saw and a drill bit it would be a little harder but you would spend less on tools. It would be easier if you bought a miter saw and table saw but that would add to your expense. I think RYOBI is cost effective and stores well. Here’s the link to my plans if needed: fieldtreasuredesigns.gumroad.com/l/outdoorsectional

      Thanks, Alex! I really appreciate you taking time to watch, send a nice comment and buying my plans! That is like the triple crown of support! As far as cedar pickets, I am just referring to these fence posts. Here is a link to help and I hope your project goes awesome! bit.ly/3No41fl

      @@diywithandrew actually I just subscribed to the channel so it's even better than the triple crown! I can't actually seems to find anything like that and that size in Canada (checked Home Depot, Rona and Lowe's) any idea where I can find em or replace them with?

    Hello! I recently bought the plans however I plan to build the mirror image (short side on left, long side on right). I will mirror the assembly, however do you think there are any pocket holes that would have to be mirrored as well to accomplish this? Thank you!

    • @diywithandrew
      @diywithandrew  7 месяцев назад

      Sorry for my late reply! Thank you for downloading my plans. I appreciate the support. Yes, I think you will want to pay attention to the pocket holes in the back support corners behind the back rest. Make sure you think that through. However, if you miss it, it won't be that big of a deal since the cushions will hide it. I hope that helps and I hope your project turns out great! Send me a photo via my instagram: @fieldtreasuredesigns. I'd love to see it!

      It's not going to rust like the one from the store tho...and the frame itself will last 10-20 years outside. The one from the store starts rusting after 1 year.
